@@나다-x1u Do you have any idea how long extinction is supposed to take naturally??? I'll give you a hint-it's NOT hundreds of years, which is almost how fast the North American bison was wiped out. Extinction usually takes thousands of even MILLIONS of years to happen naturally!

I just had to try and count. Fascinating, so I re-watched it. I didn't try to count em1 by 1, but as close as I could get, in groups of 10. I came up with 140 until the 2nd set came up. Then about 30 more, for an unofficial count of 170. Also, it didn't seem like the buffalo wanted to run into em. When they saw the car, they tried moving to the other side of the road. It's almost as if they were planning "hey, there's an object here that I'll need to avoid." Good stuff on the video. Thanks.
I sat there in the car like that once as the herd went by. I noticed right away that the adults put themselves between the calves and the cars and made no effort to do anything but go by safely. They're more considerate than a lot of drivers.
Spectacular footage, but sorry, those aren't buffalo. Those are bison. They are not the same thing. When you think of a buffalo, think of a water buffalo. Those gorgeous critters in Yellowstone are bison!
You can tell that those are bison because they have horns on the sides of their heads. buffalo have horns on the top of their heads. and bison are native to parts of Europe and North America.Buffalo are native to Africa and Asia.
To think they went from 50 million bison to less than 1,000 and still survived is a testament to the conservation efforts that brought the American bison population back from the brink of extinction is amazing.
Seems like they are trotting. Because they aren't out of control, I think that technically doesn't count as a stampede, although I don't blame you for using the more colorful title. A true galloping fear-driven stampede would be a different level of intimidating.
Keep in mind a huge majority of roads are built on animal trails, so odds are they are taking the same route their parents and grand parents took it's the humans that probably did the taking not the bison.
An amazing sight to witness. Made me smile on a very cold, snowy winters morning here in Cymru ( Wales) UK Diolch am wneud fi gwenu( Thank you for making me smile) 😁👍
If they were feeling mischievous , I’m pretty sure they could have teamed up to knock the car into the ditch . Luckily, they are not like humans, with sinister motives.🤣
Merci ++
This is amazing when you watch the video but downright scary if you're there. I've been in this spot too, but the bison were walking, not running. I just kept my car still and they walked on by, but the adults made sure they were between my car and the calves. It was early, and I was alone out there except for one car further down the road. It could have ended very badly if I had done anything assertive at all.
Those aren't buffalo though😯 Those are bison . Buffalo have extremely less fur, much larger horns, and are more docile. Bison are hairy stinky unfriendly beautiful beasts 😊

Thank God these magnificent beasts didn't go extinct.
Not for lack of effort by a bunch of !@#$ in the 1800s. Those pictures of 20 feet high bone piles next to the railroads were disgusting and took way too long to put an end to.

Amen. People back then were truly disgusting.@@TheRadioAteMyTV
But extinction brings about the birth of new species. If the dinosaurs hadn't gone extinct, buffalo wouldn't exist today.

It's amazing how modern roads have become a normal thing to them. Even Buffalos are like "Dude I don't like walking on uneven terrain"
