I LOOOOVE to watch Conan's face when he listens to Andy. It feels like watching two brothers who know each other inside out yet still manage to surprise each other almost 30 years on.
My favorite stupid Conan monologue joke of all time: "Shark attack survivors testified in front of Congress today about shark fishing. The Senate met with the leader of the group, Torso Jones."
I love all of the stuff with the writers. Laurie’s album “50 Jokes About My Dead Dad” is wonderfully inappropriate and hilarious and helped me process my grief over losing my own father in 2019. Moar, Conan and Andy and all of the Conan writers, moar!
I’ve loved Conan since I was about 11 watching his show but man the Conan ever since the podcast is great. I love these segments of going back on things and going in depth. I think we got a glimpse of the “real” Conan on the documentary and I’m glad we get that almost all the time now. He’s so funny and you wouldn’t think he could get funnier but when you just let him go and there’s no time restraints or tv censorship or anything he’s that much funnier. It’s great. Andy too honestly.
also another reason why the monologues are so good is because you dont know what to expect, even if rehearsed, something could happen to make uh so conan would have to go off script. this happened alot on late night. (some during interviews and bits, some during monologue) my favorite being, now thats a good friday. (PLEASE DO A BTN on bloopers!)
Where’s the Game of Thrones cold open?? Conan checking into his hotel room and next thing he becomes a 300 yr old naked person getting locked outside the room was epic!!
Conan is one of the funniest people ever, but would he have the same career as a HOST if he had gone bald at a young age? For example, Brian Kiley could never host a network show, because networks don’t choose bald men to host television shows. Am I wrong?
@@jgalway yes I have, it’s massive…it’s always been massive, but he has maintained what he has, and it not only still frames his face, but it’s become his signature. Having a large forehead and being completely bald in Hollywood are two completely different things.
The monlogues were always the weakest part of his Show. They never got better in 30 years. Both he and Fallon are the worst Late Night monloguists. I will get a difference of opinion, but the best monologuists today are Kimmel & Colbert. Conan (and Fallon) has a lot of other strengths.
