Great information! I was about to purchase a Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro HDMI Video Production Studio for my new in-home studio once it's complete. But I really love the features that Roland has with this unit! I prefer XLR mic inputs, and this has XLR. I love that all 3 of my cameras will be connected via Wi-Fi and not with wires everywhere!! Roland..., you may have changed my mind! Thanks again!!

Just got it. I am amazed. Be carefull with mics, cause you really need to power the Aerocaster with an AC or a really good powerbrick, oif not, no sound (lost a couple of hours on this). Now my next exp is to know how far can I put the phones and have a good signal.

Hi Joao Could I please ask you a few questions before I purchase this unit. Can the phone's camera be adjusted higher or lower, and be set to 4k or higher, when using the aerocaster? Or is it just one standard option such as HD for example? And, if my phone supports the ability to blur the background during video, would I still have this feature? Thank you in advance.
I recently purchased mine, and I love it, though there remain several fixes and basic features that are desired, primarily related to the app. One desired feature is the ability to duplicate a scene. This would eliminate the need to recreate each scene and match it to another one when all we need to do is change the camera sources. There's no built-in Lower Thirds feature-title, name, subtitle, logo-which I find disappointing. I wish there were Chroma Key for Camera inputs, allowing us to create transparent lower thirds through another computer and OBS. Currently, we can only create non-transparent lower thirds with OBS because the input source doesn't support transparency. If only we could add multiple text and image layers in one scene, unless I've missed something. Additionally, the consistency of the app and the controller device needs improvement. When controlling the scenes on the device, it always projects it to Program view. I wish it didn't do that, especially when "To PGM directly" is toggled off. That way, we could still preview it before sending things live. Furthermore, it'd be great if ALL scenes were toggle-based-being able to click on a SCENE again to return to the original view without the PIP. Currently, we click on a PIP scene, and to remove it, we need to find the camera angle and click on that to exit the PIP. I wish there were Scene-based switching so that we could create just one PIP scene and still be able to switch camera angles. There's a need for more preset SCENE compositions. I wish there were a SPLIT SCREEN composition that doesn't crop the aspect ratio of the camera, and the ability to add a background image to it. Additionally, I wish there were a built-in EQ, at least through the app. Just a note: Mic 2 doesn't seem to produce phantom power if it's not plugged into the wall. This is something to keep in mind. Initially, I thought I received a defective unit. Also, the power brick is not included in the package. Despite these points, I love the simplicity and portability of AeroCaster. I can live with the limitations since I can still accomplish many things through another computer. I can project lyrics, slide presentations, and I can even use my mirrorless camera as an input source. ^^

@@KitCatStudio Sure thing, I'd still recommend the product, although I've already switched to a different product (Director Mini) which is smaller and portable. But Aerocaster is still a solid option for the price. Especially if you already have an iPad Pro, and an iPhone, this is a solid choice. I was able to use it with iPhone 13 Pro Max, & 2 iPhone 6s. It worked fine. I also read somewhere before that if you have an M-powered iPad, it can handle more camera inputs (up to 9 I believe). But I don't have the luxury for a newer iPad Pro. 😁
May I ask about the ability for display lyric from computer? Is there an option for cropping the computer display to placed at the bottom of the livestream?

finally the best bang for the buck! all together i've got now an ultra mobile tv-studio! after a couple of hours usage evrthg is working as promised. as cams i've got: iPad, iP13, S10, S9. as mic1: Sennheiser 945 (brilliant stage mic for speaking). as mic2: Comica Boom XD wireless (2 channel with 2 lavaliers for studio guests). all together i have 3 mics connected CONS: really missing an on/off switch the documentation is poor and i'm missing a Roland AC forum. when the device is connected to your ipad you can't use another audio output like BT or ipad speakers. for daily use of iPad you have to disconnect the AC. but this is the poor Apple audio stack! when using remote cams with sound the video signal is pixeled. best use with dedicated mics! no native support for portrait mode. as long you're recording only you can rotate later in your editor.

iOS and Android phones and tablets can be used as camera sources. You can also use a laptop’s webcam with Google Chrome. They connect to the iPad by using either a Wi-Fi router or tethering. Camera connections over tethering do not use mobile data, only the livestream does.
You can connect your regular camera to the computer as webcam source (may need a capture card). Then from there you can pick that input source for Aerocaster through the browser.
AeroCaster Live now supports viewing comments from Facebook, Twitch, and UA-cam. Logging into the account is required, Custom RTMP is not compatible. Note that Facebook does not allow you to reply in AeroCaster Live.

Hello Team here, I have bought and streamed and it was okay but this year 2024, the live stream cuts after when it reaches 40-45 minutes. It gives a Notification saying Memory Full and Cuts the stream. Please let me know the possible solution for a More than-hour stream. I believe it must be your end cloud server settings.

Hi I’ve had my aerocaster for a couple days and it won’t allow me to go live on UA-cam. I’ve logged into my UA-cam account I have over 50 subscribers and everything’s working once on air button is pressed But it’s not going on to UA-cam Live. Also at the end of this tutorial my screen does not look at all like the screen of this video it doesn’t ask me for the URL when going live to UA-cam and also asking to copy and paste. I’m not really sure I might be doing something wrong but I just this has been completely frustrating trying to use this in a live situation and stream to UA-cam
I was completely disappointed when I found out that you have to use it as a live streaming device that you can’t use it in a stand alone “record mode”. If I’m wrong please correct me but it seems that this product is only for live use? This seems completely counterintuitive and a extremely in efficient use of this product to limit it only to live use! This is is a dealbreaker. I’m not sure why this product wouldn’t be able to record without going live, it really makes absolutely no sense to me. Is this a possibility to be fixed with a software update? This product is it called Aerocaster Not AeroCaster Live. Even the less expensive Go live cast product by Roland enables you to go live or record. If I’m overlooking something please correct me but if I’m not Please allow us to use this product in a recording only pre-production situation. I’am afraid if I can only use use this live I’m going to return it I just use my Go live cast.
Yes, you can use either the 1/8” line input, or if you press the “Mic 1/2 Stereo” button and turn the Gain and Compressor off for Mic 1 and 2, you can use the XLR/TRS combo inputs.
I mean it does, but if you only want to record, you should record it manually without the AeroCaster, since it can be much easier to edit it after. This device will probably nest all the camera sources into one single video, so if you mess up one of the transitions between cameras, or mess the zoom etc, you will be stuck with that.
You can record the video and audio mix to your iPad, streaming is not required. Additionally, you can record each individual camera separately for editing later.

Yes, you can now crop picture in picture scenes in the scene edit window.

No, you can’t use regular cameras. There are no HDMI ports on this.

Streaming to UA-cam requires that you verify your channel using UA-cam’s website. And AeroCaster now supports recording without streaming.

Yes, we added an option for multi-cam ISO recordings and recording without streaming.

Do you need to have a wifi connection all the time to connect the phones as cameras?
Yes, they connect to the iPad by using either a Wi-Fi router or tethering. Camera connections over tethering do not use mobile data, only the livestream does.
@@RolandProfessionalAV Does it work to use one iPhone not as a camera but as a mobile hotspot for the iPad + any other iPhones running the Aerocaster camera app? In other words, if all of the devices running Aerocaster apps were connected to a single, separate iPhone running a hotspot, would this work? Or does that not work the same way as a WiFi router?
