    What a sweet rig! And operated with skill and confidence. Sadly, we don't have snow in southern New Jersey any more. Two winters without even touching the 44 that mounts on my X310. Buzz kill!

    Where did you purchase the hydraulic hose saver mount and what is that specific model? Thanks. Great set up.

    if the neighborhood had sidewalks would that change how you do things or is blowing snow on them just collateral damage?

    How does that inverted blower work in like 2' of snow ? I see when it's in a couple of inches it works great, but having to try and drive through deeper snow, wouldn't that be a pain in the butt?

    Those inverted blowers are 'new' to me, but I can see the utility of them all the same.
    They must be really effective for doing those 'dead-end' driveways.

      Yes I see him loading it up then engaging. This is fairly light snow.

    I always thought you used 100hp PTO tractors for your blowers. Is that not the case anymore ? This one seems smaller. Thanks for all the videos :)

      I believe Paul's company has purchased a number of its competitors over the years and inherited the equipment they had. So this is why we are seeing such a range of tractors and blowers in these videos.

      Any idea how fast that 4066R will travel? I am looking for something similar. Seems like the Deere's are faster but i really like Kubota.

    • @bwillan
      @bwillan 7 років тому

      turdsandwicher From what I've found online from owners of 4066Rs is that they will do 20-21mph on relatively flat roads and will slow down a bit going up inclines. Most agriculture tractors max out at 25 mph (40 km/h)so that the tractor will qualify as a low speed vehicle for DOT and MOT regulations.

      Most people pay $40 incuding hst for their driveway here in ontario, small ones like these

    • @j77joseph
      @j77joseph 5 років тому +1

      There is no way they are paying per snowfall... these are usually on contract for $300-500/season..
      But still depending on the company and how efficient their routes are, these tractors can do 120-150 driveways in 4-6 hour routes
      They gross $50-60k per machine per season

    • @vdzonpaul
      @vdzonpaul  5 років тому +2

      j r that is correct ours are seasonal from $300.00 - $325.00 a good operator will gross $45,000 per season.
      I would be a multi millionaire if we got $40.00 per pass. At minimum we pass two times so $40.00 x 150 drives x two passes would net me $12,172.00
      We have on average 20 events so that would be $243,440.00 per tractor. With 20 tractors that would be $4,868,800.00 per year.

    I'm going to probably be really ignorant in saying what I'm going to day, especially be a proud owner of an x595 (with all the fixings) since 2002; why with some of the models Deere makes, do they mount the blower on the BACK of the tractor. You wind up with a damn twisted neck for a week, after plowing for 8 hours 😬! Who in the hell wants to turn their neck, half way around; to blow snow! I DON'T! This situation is so bad; hopefully someone will nicely embarrass me so that I can throw JD 10 points; and kindly walk away from the topic at hand, chuckling, with egg on my face?
    Why does this topic get under my skin. I'm SERIOUSLY considering a 4720 or JD skid steer for next month. Yup, blower in the back 😠. I can't believe it, what $62K for this thing; is the twisted neck standard or optional?
    By the way, the blower on this 4000/5000 series tractor doesn't do as good a job as the FRONT MOUNTED BLOWER on my 24 hours diesel x595. It does have a cab and even though it leaves 20% - 25% behind; it's much faster blowing than mine. So, it's faster, warmer but not as efficient. In the end, it's quantity/quality x speed 😋. You win!!!
    Hey, I'm just kidding around; for the most part. That rear blower thing does tweak me though. If I do buy it; I'll just keep blowing with my x595 and use the bucket or plow, on the 4720; for snow removal. You have a great tractor; enjoy!

      They do make front mount snowblowers for the 40xx series, as well as the 4x20 series. For the newer 40xx and the older 4x20 series, there's a loader mount snowblower (SB2176). For the 4x20 series, JD makes a snowblower as well that uses a front three point hitch system, or you can use the loader mount. There's also aftermarket front mount blowers (Erskine to name one) that can connect to the rear PTO if you don't have a mid PTO. Also, there's TONS of front-mount skid steer snowblowers in every price range, just do a Google search.
      People just use rear-mount since it's easier to transfer from machine to machine, and they cost a lot less.
      Also, that blower is most likely set high on the skids to prevent damage to driveways.

      xKillerFlamex Well compared to Kubota L6060 and Massey Ferguson 1759 i must say i'm very dissapointed , JD are probably the highest priced utility tractors and i think they are just selling on their brand name , personally i think noise is an important factor when working many hours and i think JD seems to be at the bottom of the list , MF1759 is probably the best and Kubota L6060 is second or it's a tie .
      Kioti also seems quiet but the rest , New Holland ,Case , Mahindra and so on are very loud
      from my research that's what i would say .

      @@allanjohansen4797 I know this is an old statement but I had the same concern. Turns out I was very wrong, the JD was 3-5 db quieter in actual operation than all of the other machines.
