this is great man featuring fellow Pinoy guitarists! you should do one with acoustic guitar (steel string/classical/flamenco) no distortion or just verb ;) that'd be dope. cheers from Orlando!
@@GioLevy all good Gio! hit up my buds Perf de Castro and Erskine Basilio as well - it'd be fun. I'm doing a Manila tour w/ my band in Sept and they're helping me book the shows 🤟
I like the style of the backing. It sounds like late 60s-early 70s a little like Santana, very good choice to revive this style. As usual not much of a challenge to the musicians, really easy chord progression (although great sounding) Rocky sounds like a very experienced guitarist, complex solo, nice sliding and flawless composition of the solo, slightly fusion and the ending was raw in the best way. I think he had the best ending, it was surprising some of the others not quite pulling off the best ending for their solo. Rocky's solo is transcription worthy. Jem has a nice use of space in his playing and nice switch to jazzier chords toward the end (takes risks), sophisticated and personal. The approach might have needed more time to resolve the style switch but nice jazz touches. Francis has the most intensity and emotion in my opinion and his style fits the backing more . He also had some riffs in the beginning that had a touch of that Latin feel (riff at 2:49 is memorable and could become a part of the composition). FDJ is very good but more of a fusion style, doesn't fit the backing style much. Aizakk is another one whose style fits the backing although it got a little EVH in the middle with the fast shredding , Nice tremolo picking also, outstanding rock and roll guitar solo and in the pocket. His technique is excellent although somewhat predictable.
Thanks for letting me play on this!
