    This. You need to do this for all 32 teams after every season. And I would watch every, single, one of them. Your opinions on what it wrong with the teams - from ownership to the players - is entertaining as hell. Equally as entertaining (and quite frankly exciting) is your take on what changes need to be made to fix the teams is hands down awesome. The content gives fans (yes, I am a Cowboys fan) hope and a reason to look forward to the next season. Appreciate this stuff my dude, I really mean it.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W Рік тому +2

      Eh. I mean its sorta the same how DJ's athleticism was an extra feature that Daboll was smart enough to turn into a feature with his current offensive rebuild. His pocket passing game is still pretty good but its hard to exploit that without dependable receivers. Field's running ability with his size will still be a threat with teams choosing to play light boxes/zone until the Bears run game starts to rip explosives. Bears offense just needs more receiver help to take advantage of openings when the opposing defenses decide to put more guys in the box or blitz.

    I'd personally prefer Will Anderson over Carter, if both are there at 4 (unlikely), especially if we do get Payne. Fingers crossed.
    Some new names unknown to me that you really got me hyped up for, I will be checking all of them out for sure. You got me hyped for Teven Jenkins with your video, I was ecstatic when we drafted him, and I am still stanning him to this day, so why not huh? :D Good stuff, man.

    Would like a bit more explanation as to why the Bears trade a likely top 5 pick that they could use on Harrison Jr. next season and spend 24M AAV on Tunsil instead of continuing to develop Braxton Jones who has a ton of potential. Not to mention the Texans dead cap hit from trading Tunsil would leave them unlikely to do so especially with bringing in a new QB

    • @BrettKollmann

      Priority number one is getting Fields the best possible supporting cast this year so they can cleanly evaluate him to determine if they want to do the 5th year option. Year three is it.

    • @gstation7960

      I had the same question and alot of the problems came from the interior with whitehair, Sam, and Tevin when not playing. Tired of Bears constantly moving lineman and not letting them develop. Bears should replace the LG,C,RT, possible RG depending on Tevin's health. Plus the Bears are more than Jalen Carter or Will Anderson away Poles seems like to make calculated moves not values draft picks more than free agency. I would rather trade with Carolina in hopes of getting the Miami-49ers deal maybe they add Burns just to get the qb for Frank.

Possibly even 1 overall if they ride with that new rookie. I’ll use the tunsil money on another corner and linebacker. Amazing content as usual, Brett. love the aggressiveness to fix the trenches on both sides & the weapons, LOVE the understanding that Indy is the pinnacle trade partner for Da Bears, and love the overall pursuit of happiness (pls) without having to delve into the nitty gritty of the entire offseason when so little is known right now.
    I'm not lovin' the Tunsil move when they could have Braxton Jones + key Day 1 and/or 2 rookies at a fraction of the cost. Poles wants to build through the draft (who doesn't) and it's not crazy to think that Braxton has a chance to be a solid starter if he can improve upon his All-Rookie year. Very understandable move though.
    Cody Whitehair is a prime candidate for getting cut, which sucks. But it's expected that they will pursue a LG as Cody regressed a bit last year. Maybe that was health, maybe not.
    D-Mont just might be returning on a "team-friendly" contract and it was no secret that Flus and Co. loved the way he handled business, on/off the field. HITS philosophy 101. Having him would make me feel better about Tyjae's role early on but it could be crowded.
    CB is a sneaky need for them. Kyler has shown inside/outside versatility but they need another guy at the other spot. Seems destined to be Flus' nickelback.
    Extensions for Kmet, Jaylon Johnson, Mooney?? Poles will take swings at athletes and looks for "resilience" above all else in prospects.
    Bear Down.

    The question is: why would Chicago backload all contracts like that, just to have a chance to make the playoffs that one year, only to be cap-strapped to hell the next season?
    26,6 Million more would be the AVG anual value of these five players combined in the following season(s) compared to season one.
    Thats huge and doesnt make any sense to me... why would they do it like that?
    Did i miss some of the „cap magic“ tricks? As far as i am concerned you can restructure and push down the line all you want, but eventually you will have to pay the player ( if its guaranteed money ) and it will count towards the cap.
    Sure if you tell me you cut Hargrave after two seasons that makes it better, but he wouldnt agree to a contract that is 10m guaranteed but nothing else the first two seasons and 40m in non-guaranteed money the following two years.. doesnt make sense, at least for me.
    So is there any reason why you should have backloaded contracts as a up and coming team?
    To me frontloaded would make more sense.. pay the players while you still have cap and save on them later on when you become a real contender..
    But maybe that wouldnt have made for a exciting video bcs they wouldnt have signed as many guys...

      @@joshh.2159 the trade isn’t great but considering the WR free agent class and the fact that fields and claypool only played ONE game where they both got >50% of snaps together, i’m not ready to make a verdict
      i think saying they’re “fucked” is a bit exaggerated, that makes it sounds like the trade set their franchise back multiple years. the steelers got some good value, the bears have so much capital they can pretty much shrug it off

First play he shoves our out of the way with one arme picks off the screen pass and runs it back for a td. I knew then he was just different.

    Important to note, that Poles is famous in KC for managing the Cap. He's a frugal type, and won't overpay like that contract that Roquan got.
    That's why he did next to nothing last offseason, choosing instead to eat the dead cap to free it up for this offseason. So he will take a calculated approach.

    overall as a Bears fan I'm a big fan of this! I love how much investment there was for the trenches and getting Fields some guys to throw too. My only additions would be to re-sign Montgomery (I know you shouldnt pay RBs, but Herbert can't pass-block and Monty is still a hell of a runner.), cut Cody Whitehair for cap savings (love you Cody but its time), and to maybe invest in another TE because Kmet still has not sold me after three seasons.

    I love the moves you made in your dream scenario. Only thing I would do differently:
    - Not sign Hargrave if Payne is signed - then the Carter pick makes all the more sense. Then use that cap space to extend potentially Mooney/Johnson/Kmet

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W Рік тому

      As Bret said Hargrave is essentially a 2 year rental if the terms are right. He can be released after 3rd year and it won't really hit the Bears on the cap hard. Those 2 years are fine to have Carter grow into his replacement essentially. Also in 3rd downs (the pressure downs) giving the offense a Carter/Hagrave look up the middle is pretty nasty overall. Besides depth is paramount for building a young roster because in case Carter goes down, whose a quality interior penetrator that can replace him for reps?
