There is reason to his hatred and rage!

Compared to volgun and Illustrated? These guys love this stuff and you can see it in their work, and they go into genuine detail, you get everything about these articles and stories in their videos.
Scp 682 has always been one of my favorites because it was the second Scp I was ever exposed to and because of how interesting it is. With these videos I’ve actually come up with a kinda theory about 682. I like to believe that 682 was in fact the snake from the garden and after being cast out by God, the Scarlet King found and took him in. Made him more powerful. I think God only curse 682 to never die while the Scarlet King gave him the ability to adapt and change as well as his massive size considering he used to just be a snake. The Scarlet King also made 682 death’s steed, makes sense for the one to bring death to have a steed that can’t die. So when 682 said he was all of them, he really meant it. 106 said he wasn’t the devil because he wasn’t, humans just said 682 when he was just a snake the devil more to make sense of it and point the blame.
And your theory is true! The SCP universe is infinite, all head-canon is canon, all tales are true, there is certainly a universe where this chain of events happened.

Dying doesn't always mean death. He could have been reduced by 343 to a horrible point somewhere between his body being dead and destroyed, and yet still barely cognizant enough to fulfill living and feeling for the rest of eternity.
"I just want to go home". Powerful stuff and I quite like where you guys have taken 682. Puts him in a very unique and sad situation. Made an unlimited rage beast into something relatable and pitiable. Keep it up guys.
That ending was actually extremely saddening… Even a giant, mutating,, human butchering reptile monster can be multi faceted… I genuinely felt sorrow for him.
SCP-682 is clearly just misunderstood. Sadly all it feels is rage and anger and the urge to kill everything that comes in it's way. SCP-682 would do great as a helper for the Foundation, like destroying the Chaos Insurgency, The Serpent Hands or The Horizon Initiative.

I love the depiction of 682 as a giant monitor lizard, because they did once exist. Megalania, the original 682. :) also, I have to note that the death's steed and serpent backstories aren't mutually exclusive. there's no reason scp has to follow the myth verbatim. Look at the mythos about Adam Al Hasem (sp?), Cain and Abel. The story's been changed enormously from the bible version, which makes it interesting to people who aren't into the bible stuff.
Actually, it's not definitive if 343 is in fact "God" or not. It's purposefully left ambiguous. Just as in "The Demon Hector and the Dread Titania", So called god, was simply a very long lived sorcerer named Methuselah who originally swore fealty to the Daevites. This is why trying to restrict and codify concrete concepts past the very basic structure of guidelines via documentation format, clinical tone and generally recognized and accepted object classes, (which, still, are mostly only loosely adhered to) only contradicts the collaborative universe's agreed upon cornerstone structure: There is no structure for which to build one canon with, yet the structures simultaneously allows ANY canon to be cultivated with equal recognition and separate admiration.
There should be reason why a story heavily devolves from its source material. For example: borrowing from Biblical texts still has to *make* sense. Death's steed has absolutely no connection to the serpent that tempted Adam and Eve. People who don't know the Bible will be confused or even misled as to what the actual info is. It needs further explanation and justification.
In other words: Don't bastardize something you borrow from. You can't enjoy SCP 682 (among others) if you "aren't into Bible stuff". This IS Bible stuff. Its the entire reason people enjoy the canon, the *familiarity* of it all. Anybody can enjoy this, familiar or not. But keep it faithful to the source material.

There are some who may ask where his unfeathered hatred sources from, although we are still greeted with hostility. Even his own creator could not grant him freedom, for he cannot go back on his own word. 682 might be what we fear most, yet he might be the most rational of us all.

@Aquarium Gravel exactly, simplifying the world into good versus evil is what leads to that. in reality every bad (and good) person had an upbringing, a culture, and circumstances that lead to to be who they are today. we still make our own choices but to deny that our circumstances as we develop change us in ways we cannot control just leads to narrow mindedness. they doesn't allow people to change how they are. in fact letting people believe they are unredeemable just leads to that person not getting better. in fact doing that may make the person become worse. if you are told you can't be helped again and again eventually you start to believe it. and if you can't be helped then what else can you be then bad.
SCP 682 is a creature who hates all life. In one story the creature saw the end of all life on Earth. Some Earthlings had set up a new home on a new planet. When they came to visit SCP 682 did not attack them. The creature knew if he killed these people he would be alone. His purpose is proven by what happens to him. He destroys life. He witnessed the end of all things. Eventually, he found peace. All of these things are part of his purpose.

I think my favorite 682 theory is SPC 682 is the steed of death, and 053 is death herself, but the whole "serpent that Eve to eat the apple" thing is also pretty neat

A father, a son and regrets. Man, only if I had the power to ease 682, I would ease him. He's no evil, he's just a kid who follows his father's command. The reasons for his behaviors and actions are just simply ways of defending himself from getting hurt emotionally. Poor kid. The line where he said: "I just want to go home." touched me emotionally
This video was actually a masterpiece. The deepest and saddest thing I’ve seen from SCP stuff. (The Plague Doctor and Shy Guy seeing each other being second. That was extremely well done and sad as well.)

I love the fact that they made SCP 682 as a dinosaur called megalaina and to be honest this was the best thing ever Indeed SCP 682 felt some regret and sadness as his father 343 spoke with him and he thought maybe humans aren't that bad but his anger caused him to move aside that thought he hated his father so badly he couldn't accept his saying..in the end 343 cares for 682 but at some point..he has to give up
Very interesting. Now, having heard this tale, I'd love to hear the full backstory on 682, predating the creation of "The Garden", and Humanity, and his hard fall from grace. I can only assume that he was once an Angel, himself, and probably an Archangel too, at that. Not Lucifer, but rather some other one... but which one? Who was he? What was his name? What did he look like? What was he "The Angel Of"? My enquiring mind wants to know! 🤔 CHEERS! 🍻✌
i like the islamic explanation, that the devil (shaaytaan) is a jinn (Another being created by god, not an angel, but not a human, created from a smokeless fire), and that he disobeyed god's command and told them to eat the fruit, and would not bow to adam, the first human, therefore god cursed him for all eternity until the day of judgement.

Wow... Wooow! Literally had me a little foggy eyed. 682 was basically the outspoken child that was forever branded as a miscreant with no redemption at all. That stings :'( it kinda makes you feel terrible for 682
I feel I have to immediately reject this from my head cannon as isnt the serpent who tempted Eve in the Wanderer's library and is worshipped by the Serpents Hands. That's why that group spreads information and they are most likely named after the limbs the snake had removed as punishment for suggesting Eve eat the fruit

We have a *very* fickle relationship with both of these SCP’s, we did manage to get an interview with 343 during a site containment breach on us, he seemed kind of disappointed in us but said that “we are needed” whatever the hell that means. On some occasions 682 has spared some of our insurgents, one time he even fought alongside one of us. This doesn’t mean he hasn’t killed dozens of us, but still.
There should be a tale where 682 does something and gets his spot back in heven once again. Edit: what would happen if 106 was hit by a stream of scp 005 or somwhow took scp 500?
Amazing video. I also love the theorie. With this background 682 suddenly doesnt seem so misunderstood and symphatic anymore.. I always thought it was just some cool lizard and the foundation found out that its so hard to kill and then kind of made a sport out of trying to. But that wouldnt make sense because thatd go against that motto of the foundation, something like -hard but not cruel-. One thing that made me pretty sad was that god (forgot the scp number) said that 682s hatred would eventually pass, but it still wouldnt be allowed back. And so even after actually forgiving and turning good it would still be forced to live on on this mortal plane forever seperated from his home and father.. and that forever would either be until the universe collapses and finally kills 682 or it would also somehow surived this and forced to live in its perso nal hell for all eternity. Thats pretty sad I think. Even tho as god said 682 would learn to appreciate everything the universe had to offer, it still would end up alone and far from home (Excuse my typos im not used to this keyboard yet
There has been a lot of time dedicated to 682 and its . . . . . . Misadventures/torture. This has definitely been one of, if not the best yet but gosh. I would love to see an alternate timeline, an alternate universe where 682 listens to 343 and actually thinks about what he meant by “we’re supposed to protect them” Maybe seeing 682’s anger slowly come to rest and giving way to, eventually a more cooperative demeanor, and maybe, eventually a caring one, could be a fun line of thought. It would be interesting seeing a world where instead of using that nigh endless hatred and violence upon 343’s favorite creations, 682 forgives the father and uses it’s endless potential for violence to protect people from all the anomalies that would seek to harm them like he once did

Spiderman but he looks like Reptile from MK. He has a reptilian face and a really short snout, which he hides with a mask. He can go Invisible, regenerate, run on walls and spit acid.
Amazing work! I love the fact that they made SCP 682 as a dinosaur called megalaina and to be honest this was the best thing ever Indeed SCP 682 felt some regret and sadness as his father 343 spoke with him and he thought maybe humans aren't that bad but his anger caused him to move aside that thought he hated his father so badly he couldn't accept his saying..in the end 343 cares for 682 but at some point..he has to give up
Very interesting. Now, having heard this tale, I'd love to hear the full backstory on 682, predating the creation of "The Garden", and Humanity, and his hard fall from grace.
I can only assume that he was once an Angel, himself, and probably an Archangel too, at that. Not Lucifer, but rather some other one... but which one? Who was he? What was his name? What did he look like? What was he "The Angel Of"?
My enquiring mind wants to know! 🤔

No he's a reptile, called a snake he's probably nacash, serpent of the garden.
They didn't show him in a human form so I guess he's not an angel but he still is a snake that told Eve to eat the fruit
i like the islamic explanation, that the devil (shaaytaan) is a jinn (Another being created by god, not an angel, but not a human, created from a smokeless fire), and that he disobeyed god's command and told them to eat the fruit, and would not bow to adam, the first human, therefore god cursed him for all eternity until the day of judgement.

This is exactly what I needed for this limbo week.
Based on the first few lines, it became clear to me that 682 was the “serpent” that tricked Adam and Eva into eating the apple (The Forbidden Fruit).

I feel I have to immediately reject this from my head cannon as isnt the serpent who tempted Eve in the Wanderer's library and is worshipped by the Serpents Hands. That's why that group spreads information and they are most likely named after the limbs the snake had removed as punishment for suggesting Eve eat the fruit
Think of it more of an alternate universe rather than cannon
there is no one true canon thats the beauty of SCP you can choose which canon to follow

We have a *very* fickle relationship with both of these SCP’s, we did manage to get an interview with 343 during a site containment breach on us, he seemed kind of disappointed in us but said that “we are needed” whatever the hell that means. On some occasions 682 has spared some of our insurgents, one time he even fought alongside one of us. This doesn’t mean he hasn’t killed dozens of us, but still.

Amazing video. I also love the theorie. With this background 682 suddenly doesnt seem so misunderstood and symphatic anymore.. I always thought it was just some cool lizard and the foundation found out that its so hard to kill and then kind of made a sport out of trying to. But that wouldnt make sense because thatd go against that motto of the foundation, something like -hard but not cruel-. One thing that made me pretty sad was that god (forgot the scp number) said that 682s hatred would eventually pass, but it still wouldnt be allowed back. And so even after actually forgiving and turning good it would still be forced to live on on this mortal plane forever seperated from his home and father.. and that forever would either be until the universe collapses and finally kills 682 or it would also somehow surived this and forced to live in its perso nal hell for all eternity. Thats pretty sad I think. Even tho as god said 682 would learn to appreciate everything the universe had to offer, it still would end up alone and far from home

@@axisrogue but that punishment was banishing of humans from the garden. Thats a very big punishment for eating an Apple of knowledge that god decided to keep there without protection. Its like breaking a window in your house and being disowned as a punishment and then later being forgiven but still not accepted back to the family. It just seems... vile?

I would love to see an alternate timeline, an alternate universe where 682 listens to 343 and actually thinks about what he meant by “we’re supposed to protect them”
Maybe seeing 682’s anger slowly come to rest and giving way to, eventually a more cooperative demeanor, and maybe, eventually a caring one, could be a fun line of thought.
It would be interesting seeing a world where instead of using that nigh endless hatred and violence upon 343’s favorite creations, 682 forgives the father and uses it’s endless potential for violence to protect people from all the anomalies that would seek to harm them like he once did
