My wife’s sister lives in Naples - they’re from New Jersey and drove us around for a few weeks. They love the crazy driving there - very few accidents. Those drivers are very skilled. Americans cannot drive worth a damn, I’m convinced of it. I personally saw hundreds of near-accidents. It’s like everybody’s on the same page somehow.

I 100% agree with you. I’ve witnessed several instances that could have been accidents but the locals are really good at avoiding car crashes. In the rare case that an accident does happen, if there is no damage they move on without involving the police 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hi, Neapolitan here. I acknowledge that traffic in Naples is a jungle, but we have our own rules that work in some way. Anyway, traffic, in Europe and USA, is completely different. So I can understand that an american could have difficulties to drive in Europe, especially in Naples. You clearly used to another way of driving and it’s hard to get used differently. Anyway, other points of view from strangers are always welcomed and I hope you will get used to traffic in Naples shortly. A litte advice: by the clip you put in the video, it seems that when there are 3 lanes you take the middle one. That’s a mistake and you could even get fined when using second or third lane improperly. Second and third are only and exclusively for overtaking. You can’t occupy these lanes without overtaking. That’s maybe why you get honked or flashed :-) Enjoy Naples !

Omg thank you for sharing. I did not know that getting in the middle lane was not acceptable. Thankfully I’ve gotten use to the driving here. I’ve adopted the mindset of going with the flow and approaching driving like it’s a puzzle. I take my time and eventually I’ll achieve my end result lol I’m loving and enjoying my time here in your city. Thank you so much for sharing 😊

@@jaleesa.daniels_ yep, overtaking is admitted only by left, so that’s why you must occupy the right lane (1st lane). That’s a rule in whole Europe I suppose. If im not mistaken this is not a rule in USA

The tailgating reminds me of how they drive in SC and no matter how many 4 car pile ups they see, they still don’t learn a lesson!

I’ve lived and worked at Capo the last two years. No one will understand the driving until they experience it themselves.
