  • Fishing with Flavoured Breadpaste - Quick Easy & Cheap. In this episode I show you how I fish with the flavoured breadpaste which I showed you how to make last week. If you haven't seen that video, I suggest you watch it first. Here's the link: • Make Flavoured Bread P...
    On this occasion I used used my pole to fish because, this bait is made to be soft. Of course, you can use this breadpaste with a rod, but it is probably best if you use a soft underarm cast.
    Longer casts can be made if the bait is used on a Hair Rig, where it can be moulded around a bead to provide better holding power. Under these circumstances, the breadpaste can also be mixed to a stiffer consistency for longer casting because the hook is not affected by the bait. in effect, you are then using the breadpaste very similarly to using a Boilie.
    I will probably make a video showing the Hair Rigged version in practice in the near future, but there are lots of other videos I want to make first.

      Thanks Geoff. I saw it on the news. I hope you and your family are safe. By the way, after the massive Bushfires, we now have all our rivers in flood as well. Sometime you just can't win! :)

      @@shed43a I've been the same on rivers for the past 2 or 3 weeks mate. Looks like I'll have to give Den's Pond another bash. Tight Lines.

    Another cracking tutorial Den, I have never fished with a pole and I am probably a bit too long in the tooth to start changing my ways. So I shall stick with my rod and reel. But a nice video non the less. Cheers mate.

      Thanks Russell. I was wondering how many of my viewers didn't use a pole. I think I might try to make a slightly stickier mix and use it on a light hair rig with a Waggler float to see how well that works for people who only use a rod. it's worth a bit of experimentation. Did you take your Grandson out fishing? if so, did you catch?

    Nice Vid. The paste is working well.
    I started coarse fishing on a pole but techniques seem to have changed a lot over the years. Everyone seems to use rollers these days. Might get the old pole out for a fish soon. Recently bought a couple of whips that I might try out for margin fishing.
    Cheers!

      You must be a lot younger than me John. When i started fishing, nobody had a pole. Everybody just used a rod and reel. By the way, I hope those whips your talking about have some means of elastication. If your going to use them for carp in the margins, it will be an explosive time. Lol.

      @@FishingwithDen I didn't start coarse fishing until I was in my mid-20s. Before that I had only done saltwater fishing always with rod and reel. On my first outing coarse (pole only) fishing, caught a ton of Roach, and Bream (slabs), and a Tench. My fishing buddy was an old hand and a bit of a local legend. He was very stoked that I had caught a tench on my first time out. The Tench was kept (legally) and smoked (delicious). My friend was also using a pole and hooked up to the biggest carp I have ever seen. there was no elastication and he didn't think he'd be able to land it, but he worked it gradually to shore and before we could get a net to it, it saw us and took off easily snapping his 2lb line. Still it was fun. 😁 My friend was also a very keen carp fisherman, who used quite different tackle on his carping expeditions. Very sad I could never get him out to Australia where the carp are so plentiful. He could never believe me how people treat them like pests here. 😀

    Another nice session there Den. I've never been pole fishing, but as it happens, i bought a cheap 8m pole yesterday and am looking forward to trying it out when I've sorted out the elastic system. My wife has just bought me a Prologic themo fishing suit so i can get out fishing in the cold weather, do you think she's trying to tell me something, ha ha. I still haven't made the box for my seat yet, got all frame and legs made. It's been really wet and windy here, not my kind of fishing weather .👍

      Thanks Hilary. I've started my new Matchfishing Seatbox too. I have completed the base frame so far, but I now have to work out how to attach the footplate. It's either going to be the slide out (cassette) type or the lift up type, but I can't make up my mind which at the moment. I hope your new thermal suit is waterproof. I have been watching the UK weather on the news lately.

    Hey Den. Do you not have trouble with the bait being "swept off" if the hook is dragged through the water or is the paste tough enough? Great video btw

    • @FishingwithDen
      @FishingwithDen  3 роки тому

      It's a bit of a balancing act Mark. The paste must be soft enough to give as you strike but not so soft that it can't be moved through the water fairly slowly. It works well on the pole, but it would not be a good bait for long casts with a float. In Pole fishing, you may be aware that there is also a technique called Paste Fishing. This should not be confused with what I'm doing here. Paste Fishing involves quite large and really soft baits which are shipped out inside a Pole Cup because they are so soft that they would not make it out to the baited area. I hope that helps.

    I am a rod a line fisherman too. I keep thinking shall I get a pole or not or spend it on day tickets which means more fishing? Still a great vid.
