- The two games I have always wanted to have on my PS4 have finally been released. But what were my first impressions of the game? Is it perfect without flaws or does it have some problems that are still yet to be fixed?

i probably stick with the originals too,that graphic upgrade doesn't look that impresive for me,but the lack of shadows and dirtyness in games overall takes avay those essentials feelings from the game

And if you want you can open up your nvidia control panel go to image sharpening and put the ignore film grain bar all the way to zero and the sharpening all the up. And then turn the brightness in the computer all the way down and the in game brightness all the way up. You won't be disappointed.
so much hate like who cares about the graphics youre getting 2 of the best games of all time with all dlc included what makes people happy
BJ Robinson I take it you did not watch this whole video where I explain the frame rate problems. :/ Also what made both of these games even more fun to play was the comic book style graphics. Take those away and the games are not as fun as they used to be.

BJ Robinson Yes I have. I updated both games and it actually makes them worse. Batman Arkham City in particular has become so broken with the update that it has become far worse than it was on this video.
I will upload an updated review soon. Just know that this game is not worth buying. We waited for an update and instead of it being an improvement it's actually become worse.

Had it digitally for a year now still love it no problems
To be honest I did get this 2017 and have experienced smooth and lagless gameplay except for one bit... when I go through a dorr to a new location, the loading sign lags and sometimes freezes. Oh well
What's funny is that you can still buy the games on Steam for $5 each in a sale with higher frame rate
I never got the critique on the new coloring... just turn the brightness down. legit all it takes to get that darker feeling back

Rizzy the man It isn't. The content is still adult and even DC animated movies get an R rating. It doesn't matter if it looks like a cartoon, the content is still for adults.

Agreed. I can remember someone saying at one point that they were going to rebuild both games from the ground up, making many models look just like Arkham Knight, it's a shame they didn't :( btw, I agree completely with your comment on the Last of Us remastered, I recently played it for the first time and the graphics were incredible and matched the story completely.

Lord nerd 12 yeah, I know right. Arkham Knight had the best models and gameplay feel of the series (or at least on par with Arkham City). Remastering it could improve the combat of Arkham Asylum (which is a bit awkward compared to City onwards), it would bring the fantastic graphical capabilities of Knight to the earlier games, and plus it would fix inconsistencies with character designs, looking at you Black Mask.
I got the platinum for Arkham City, which is my favorite game ever, told a kid, and got laughed at because its Batman.

+Brian Bowden My opinion has ultimately remained the same. I wasn't necessarily referring to the Remastered version of Arkham City. I was just referring to the game in general as a TRUE sequel.

I would buy this only because I miss both games on ps3 and it would be fun to play it again on ps4
just get it on PC it looks better, runs at 60 fps, cheaper, and you can probably run it. it's not very demanding.
The blurry outlines are because of the depth of field effect. This depth-of-field crap in games really needs to go. First thing I do if a game has DOF enabled by default is disable it.

this are the times again for games graphics doesn't matter. Like said artistic it's like a painting compared to a HD printout of a painting which is all smoothen and hi-res

Got em on PC. Didn't buy AK till it was fixed and its been fixed. Can't imagine something more horrible than an unoptimized game on a console. Quick question, would you recommend them if just allowed them to render at a higher resolution + stable 60 fps ?

I've notice some graphical hiccups too. Like there would be missing things from the original. Particularly Arkham Asylum.
I don't care about the graphics as long as the gameplay is the same as the originals I am okay with the game
Origins was not included. Shame! My fav was City so still buying.
I had to get the Return versions so i could play them on the Series X

Hey Eric, I literally check this page out everyday. I have them all on PS3 but also had to buy on PS4 against my wife's wishes. Asylum especially has sentimental value for us, since we started dating around that time, and are now married! But regardless I marked out and got the remasters, she told me it was a cash grab, and she was right! Worst part is how horrible, cartoony, and bright the characters look now! These are my all time favorite games and all I wanted was a great remaster! My hearts broken.
That's a great story. You might have realised that i have not reviewed the Return to Arkham collection yet. That is because I decided to give the developers more time to release an update that would fix the frame rate issues and potentially the graphical problems. They released an update recently and unfortunately it has capped the frame rate for Arkham City from 60FPS to 30FPS. Not only that, the controls for the game now has a half a second delay which makes it feel completely unresponsive.
I will review the game very soon and I will expose it for the update that ACTUALLY made the game worse.

I can't wait for you to see the review. Yes, no one else was criticising the cartoony graphics correctly so I decided to highlight it with immense detail. Hopefully they will release another update in the future. If they don't then everyone should have the right to return the game as it the developers literally broke it with the new update.
Eric Carter I wish they could just release the way they looked in the originals. Batman's face is really weird now in asylum.
So are you going to review Episode 2 of Tell tale batman series? Also if you are disappointed in this remaster I know a good game to try out that came out this year.

just bought this and kinda wish I never. badly done remastered game. they improved it graphics wise without realising it made the games what it was. hopfully a update is out for it by now.

One question, how can I put in Spanish the DIGITAL VERSION of the batman arkham collecton games in Spanish? It is that only the batman arkham knight comes to me in Spanish, I cannot put the other two in Spanish, I already changed the language of my ps4 to the Spanish of Spain and if they are changed, but the dialogues are not complete, that is, suddenly the voices of the characters are not heard

I really, really wanted to buy this collection and then buy Arkham Knight.. But damn it seems horrible with these problems. Any confirmation from the developer on when they will fix the frame rate?
They released a update recently and it actually made the frame rate worse. Particularly with Arkham City. It's actually game breaking. I will review it and expose them for their crap soon.

I agree 100% I am very dissapointed with this remaster
I believe they worked way too much on city and should have put most of their effort on asylum. City holds up but asylum could have benefitted off of some hard core work. All in all they weren't finished with the remaster and should have waited another year before releasing; or at least advertise it! Great video BTW.

Better character models, and darker eerie tone vs cartoony models but better designed environments? I still have my PS3 along with PS4 so I bought the remaster. Buts it's true what they say, sometimes for gamers graphics aren't everything! I'll stick with the originals!!!

Just a nitpick, but i hate the remaster's Batman faces, they look like made from a sillypatty, when someone says Batman is supposeted to look scary, that's not what they mean.
Edit: i am talking about the Asylum version, to be specific.
I agree. The original version definitely gave him a more Comic Book look aswell.

Well the remastered graphics is something Return to Arkham is being HEAVILY marketed for. So when I spend my hard earned money on a game then I expect it to be as advertised. The fact that it isn't means they LIED to us. Which falls under false advertising and there are laws that prohibit this.
