Some people have a lot of nerve to think that it’s okay to touch someone else’s property especially after you tell them no! You have the right to allow or not allow someone to touch your dolls! You are not rude for that and you don’t say no in a rude way and you explain why it’s not okay! I agree with you 100%!❤
As a reborn mother who is married and my husband considers himself a reborn father, I can confirm that PEOPLE SHOULD NOT TOUCH OUR REBORNS! I feel like whenever that happens, a mother instinct kicks in and I get a burning feeling in my chest and get so upset. 😢❤
@@rebornbabysfamilywithlove my husband and I got into a bit of an argument this morning because he wanted to take his son out 😂 the issue was that I dont have a covered stroller yet to protect our reborn.
I agree with you Tori my dolls are very dear to me as my last few dolls that came into my collection were from a woman that's very dear to me and I don't want them to be damaged.
I was in a store one time with one of my reborns I had made and this lady and her friend came up and were admiring the “baby”. When I told her it was a doll she asked if she could hold it so I said okay and handed her my reborn. The next thing I knew she was hanging the doll upside down by one leg and bouncing it up and down and she and her friend were laughing!! I was livid! I took the doll from her and told her not to do that, this is a hand made doll! She just laughed and said it was a doll and you can get one in any store. I told her this was a very expensive hand made doll and if she damaged it she would be paying me a lot of money! Luckily the doll was not damaged and all was well. I don’t take my reborns out anymore.
The audacity of some people smh. If someone did that to my baby let's just say it wouldn't end well. I'm very protective of my babies when out in public especially
If we apply the general rules that go with any kind of Artistic display, touching of the object, if it's not yours, is never appropriate. The audience is not to touch the sculpture, painting, or whatever, it is to look at - not touch. But Dolls are considered to be an exception to this rule by many, especially when not in a formal display, so it important for the owner or displayer to be vigilant and enforce the appropriate behaviors. Situations & venues where this may be problematic should be avoided for the protection of the doll and personal protection as well.
My dolls bring me great comfort. I always have a baby with me. I am always reluctant to let people touch them. I'm always thinking, "Are they going to be too rough? Are they going to make fun of me?" Also, like you noted, some people smoke, or wear perfume. I have sensory issues and cant handle a lot of smells. I don't think it makes is rude, I think we just worry about our baby dolls. 😊
I usually don’t care if someone holds/touches my doll, I literally thrust my Tobias into the arms of a cashier who was amazed 😂 but someone like you described that reeks or doesn’t respect boundaries, you have every right to say No!
Oh my gosh, I giggled when I saw this video pop up! Nope, you are not rude at all! I honestly do not want anyone touching any of my dolls. Period. They are way too expensive to allow the common onlooker to handle them! Lol! All of my nope! Lol! Love this video and good for you for setting those boundaries when out with them when necessary! Great chat and I agree 100% with everything you have said here! xxxooo's
@@kellycreates3310 Really? Okay, let me explain further......I have an art doll that I paid anywhere from $1,000 up to $10,000 for and a random stranger who I don't know wants to touch/hold/handle said doll. First, let me just say, I wash my hands before I even handle my dolls, so to allow a perfect stranger to do so, while out in public with un-washed hands that the oils alone could potentially do damage to the doll, let alone other things such as lotions or other chemicals that are not good for any collectible doll, and that's just for starters! Yeah, no! It's our choice as collectors to either allow or not allow anyone to touch our dolls. Period. I've seen crazy damage done to people's very expensive dolls by people who simply had no clue how to handle them properly because to an average onlooker, they think it's just a toy and not a high end work of art, so again, all of my nope! Lol! 🙂
It's no different then when we are at a car show with our expensuve painted 1929 Ford street rod. People know not to touch them, until you have someone come by to close or kids ceawling on it, its the guys that jump to say do not touch!! Period!! People should know adult women arent taking just regular dolls for play, they are part of a collection, thars what i think! Expensive!! They can be damaged like everything else. ❤😊 that little guy is a sweetheart ❤️ and deserves protection!! Great topic, u have not experienced that yet but now ill be prepared to move around to be ready to pouce on someone 😂
If you feel the way you do about your dolls, do not take them out in public. Take them outdoors in private, in a stroller or swing. That way, if any damage occurs, it is your own fault. Sounds like you want to show off the dolls, but not let people touch them.
I mean, I agree to some extent that if you wanna keep your things perfect you should be very careful with them and where you bring them… but at the same time that’s not right at all she should be able to bring her stuff wherever she wants and not have people touching it without permission that’s a character flaw on their part…
Love this little guy!! I dont like to many people touch my dolls . There is nothing wrong with you not letting people touch them. Great topic! Have a great day!❤❤
Oh my gosh this video got me HEATED for you😂 the art doll babies need to be treated like ART and BABIES ahhh I can't believe someone SLAPPED your doll 🤯😡
I agree with you, people can admire them, but you don’t have to let everyone touch the doll. I can’t get over that lady slapped your doll, that was so rude!! 💜🙏🏻
I love the Xmas outfit the little hat is adorable. I want fuzzy hats for my babies. You are absolutely entitled to say who can and can’t touch the babies. It’s that way even with real kids.
I don’t take my babies out but I do have a service dog and the same rules apply. Pass the vibe check or be a little kid who’s super respectful? Sure, you can pet my dog if HE deems it okay. Don’t pass the vibe check/be disrespectful? No, you cannot pet my service dog. And that can definitely include when I’m too anxious/in a hurry. No one is obligated to let anyone else touch or interact with their service dog or baby, whether or not it’s a doll or a living human baby. You don’t automatically get to touch it just because it’s not a breathing human. Pass the vibe check or eff off
I don’t think your rude at all. These dolls are expensive investments. Some of my dolls cost more than my truck and I don’t want people touching that either. So, NO I don’t think it’s rude at all. Your baby boy is gorgeous. One of my most favorite sculpts.
I would had asked that woman that smacked your doll on the face to give me the doll back or stop what she was doing and walk away..lol Like u said these dolls are expensive and they are works of art, I don’t like the idea of everybody touching them, specially if they r not gonna be careful with them.. I always have my dolls inside the dolly bag and when I showed them to the therapists that used to come home when Lucas was little they were super careful and respectful so it was ok… It’s not rude to say no, like I don’t go around touching stuff that is not mine..lol Bennet is looking adorable on his gown and hat! ❤
That's literally like seeing a painting in an art gallery. And you go up and you touch it. And you're not supposed to I just got one And i'm really debating on if I want to bring him outside or not🥺 And he's also Premise size . So people will probably think i'm just weird because I have it Thank you for the encouragement.
I don't blame you and I can respect that. I would be the same way. Because there is kidnappers out thieves out there so I don't blame you you are supposed to treat them like they're real babies
The only time I’ve actually touched a reborn doll, I think was a silicone one, was when my mom and I went to yard sales, there was a gorgeous baby in a little doll cradle and I gasped when I saw her because I’ve never seen one in person. the owner was sitting on a chair closer to where you enter the yard sale so I’m sure she saw me, and I picked her up cause I didn’t know if she was for sale or not so I was just looking if there was a price or something (she wasn’t the owner just said she brought her out cause she sells them) and I was like 😮 omg cool she’s so beautiful, she felt so realistic. I set her down carefully back in the little cradle after admiring her for another second. I wanted to ask more but didn’t wanna seem rude.
Me too but I just have not changed them at all cause I was going through something triple and it put me in trouble with DWI so I got put my money in there bank this is how they do always works out just one Mistake and the law makes you feel like you have done something over and over it’s all about money doesn’t matter at all 🧐
