I believe that after he saw how much Aizen powered up after he merely injured him, he was worried that any normal attack wouldn't be sufficient to kill Aizen, and that the only way to defeat the Hogyoku simply regenerating through everything would be one massive hit.
Considering Aizen did regenerate even after the final Getsuga Tenshou, even though it did weaken him considerably, proves that Ichigo made the right call.
He had two. When Aizen had him by the throat after evolving he slashed him away but it did not cut him at all
i think in the manga it was stated that he was actually on some sort of time crunch in that first form, which the anime completely glosses over so ichigo just comes across as an impatient dick
Ichigo could never defeat Aizen without mugetsu cause of the Hogyoku's regeneration,thats why he went for the one shot..which actully alone still wouldnt work if it wasnt for urahara sealing him.Pure 1v1 ichigo wouldnt defeat Aizen.

Really wish we get better and more cosistent animation in the next 2 seasons man,even if they get delayed by a few months...... Cour 2's animation was alright.. Considering they were prolly tryna save Budget for the next 2 seasons and stuff,but I wasn't really satisfied by the fact that none of the fights looked as good as Yama vs Yhwach or Unohana vs Zaraki
Cause none of the fights are on that level until later.
Unnecessary to put all the budget on small non-sense fights... they should save the budget for the big fights instead of using it on all fights and make the best fights look average
