Hi MrRangerZr1, these 2 will work for 2007 Ex-L right? Spark plugs for EX-L/Touring models: amzn.to/2E2dWVb and Ignition coil for EX-L/Touring models: amzn.to/2LAuVnJ
What a great video. The tip on the finger tightening method with the ratchet is great. I remember back in the day doing my first spark plug change…changing the plugs on my jeep and following the torque spec with a torque bar and one plug snapped and put me in a huge problem spot. My cousin who is a mechanic saved my ass with some specialty tools to get out the broken plug. When I told him I used a torque bar he looked at me like i was nuts. Explained it’s not necessary and just snug them up. Lesson learned. This finger technique is fantastic
What a great video! I normally do not like instructional videos w/o narration. But you did such a great job that there was no need for verbal instruction. Nice job! Thanks!
Thank you for the video. I was apprensive about trying this myself. I was worried about the difficulty of getting to the back plugs. I am so glad I tried this repair because it was super easy. Make sure you have a magnetic socket and a couple of extensions and you are set. Hardest thing for me was disconnecting the wiring harness from the coils. Do it yourself and save yourself between 100 and 200 dollars
this is exactly what i faced, coil wire harness and getting the spark plug out, spark-plug was very securely tight - took a little bit of strength to unscrew it, when I tried to sit the coil back it too require little strength to press/set it so the coil screw can mount ( this back side #2 plug)
Thank you so much for such a detailed video..Wish I saw this video before getting fleeced at the dealer (Capital Honda in San Jose)..took the Odyssey when the CEL came on and was told I need to change all the 6 spark plugs and coils for $3200..When I said no, they forced me to have one spark plug/coil changed for $568...never going back to those cheaters again
Thanks for the video! I'm helping a buddy out this weekend on his van and I wanted to make sure this was a straight forward job, which you delineated perfectly.
Nice video. ‘Thank you. My 2006 EX-L had Allen bolt instead of the 10mm nut attached to the stud. Be prepared to go either way have an Allen wrench or the 10mm socket.
Good vid, Odyssey engine is easy, some cars the intake manifold must come off to get the back three cylinders. Only one "non-positive" comment, torque value for spark plug and use of torque wrench would have been nice, although not needed.
Excellent video! Thank you so much! Question: my have a 2007 Odyssey, 110,000 miles. I will replace the spark plugs, Do I need to replace all of the coils? If yes, Do you have a cheaper coil recommendation? thanks again
Mr Ranger I have a problem. My hubby was changing the spark plugs when one of the boots got stuck on the plug. How do he go about getting the boot off?
I should add be careful what you find on Amazon, there are some knock-offs that are being sold are OEM NGK plugs on there. I ordered mine from Rock Auto as well. They were $26/ea. at the dealership, ~$9/ea. at RA
Car running well even after 120, 000 on original NGK spark plugs but I decided it was time for a change. After I changed the spark plugs, the check engine light came on and was idling rough. What could have happened? I put back the old plugs and had same problem. I removed the battery several times and finally got it back to original state. Sort of scared trying to replace the plugs at this point. Any suggestions?
@@MrRangerZr1 I took car to a mechanic and they told me all the spark plugs were misfiring. Was told not to use the pocket coin gap tool because it messed up the platinum tips. I rechecked the gaps on the old spark plugs, (no manipulation whatsoever) but seems like the gap tool still messed up the platinum tips. No need to check the gaps because factory gaps the spark plugs well ( probably okay to check with a better gap tool)
You did it wrong; you're supposed to stand around talking nonstop and spend most of your time awkwardly repositioning the camera while walking on extremely loud gravel. This video is too efficient, convenient, and professional.
MrRangerZr1 I brought a 2007 Honda Odyssey and I want to do a tune up so you said I don't have to buy ignition coils unless they're going bad well thanks for telling me that cause they cost a lot of money lol. Well I'm going to change them today but I need help with the ones in the back

MrRangerZr1 my sister brought the van and the check engine light was on and I check it's and the codes came back oxygen sensors and fuel cap. The van was sitting for a long time and it's looked good so we decided to get it. But I'm going to do a tune up on it I already changed the oil and air folder. I had multiple misfires on different cylinders , should I replace the coils ( expensive ) or just replace the spark plugs? I’m planning to work on my 2005 odyssey 120,500 miles , this weekend. How does the cylinder numbers go? 1 thru 6 ? Which is which?

I was able to replace the 3 spark plugs in front . Was able to disconnect and remove coils for 1 and 2 but the extension (6 in.) wouldn’t fit. Too long to get it in the hole, not enough space. Save 400$ in Canada!!
At about 7:05 that is an excellent close-up of the back three coil packs. It gives a good idea about where they are to access the spark plugs.

Top quality content. Love getting straight to the action, no bs. Excellent video framing and editing as well. Love your videos!
Always been intimidated with working under the hood but I didnt know it was this easy to do. I'll do mine this weekend..💯 Thanks
Going to do it on my Honda Odyssey. Thanks for a quiet but detailed video.
I'm more impressed with the engine bay. That's a clean engine 👌
It is a little too clean. It's like he bought this in 2010 and then has been using it just to make repair videos and never drove it.
Gotta get these done on the wife's van this weekend. Making sure I don't screw it up.
Thank you! , very specific and encouraging vid, without any BS

reinsert the coil to get it out or use tweezers

What is the issue with the car that lead you to change the spark plug. By the way, love your video
In my case there was no problem, I just filmed a DIY video.
Honda recommends changing the spark plugs on the Odyssey V6 @ 105K miles.
Sorry, I meant every 105K miles.
I should have bought an Odyssey. The rear plugs on our Sienna are a nightmare to get to.
I wish I bought a sienna...much more reliable.
A cuanto calibraste las bujias?
pre-gapped from factory
I'm being told to change plugs @ 60k. You've said 105k I've got a 2019 Odyssey. Which is correct?
You don't need plugs now. Keep on driving.
How much are OEM plugs? Thanks for the vid btw
NGK plugs are $10 each on amazon. I found a seller on ebay that was selling 6 OEM NGK plugs for $47 shipped!

Is that Cracked around the nut? I overtight mine too and gave me cracked around the end. Was wondering if i need to change the whole ignition coil?
As long as it stays in place you're fine
Thank you so much for your videos! So simple and easy to learn.
Honda: lets put sparkplugs in the back of the engine to fuck with them huehueheuheuh
Toyota: Let's put the intake manifold over the rear spark plugs
Lol I would still take the toyota tho
What did you use the dielectric grease on and anti-seize lube?
Dielectric grease on the end of the ignition coils and anti-seize on the spark plug threads. Very small amount needed.
What's the torque spec for the sparkplugs? Don't want to overtighten those.
about 16 lbf.ft
