When Tyler (the singer) was in college, he actually had his car radio stolen. He used music to deal with his mental health issues, and when his radio was taken, it hit him pretty hard.
I also hear that someone actually gave him a car radio.

Cutting his hair is a way to change who he his, because he doesn't like himself. Changing ones image is an effect of some types of depression.
Plus it's the one thing that he can control because sometimes we can't control our emotions

As for the crowd, this was shot in their hometown at one of their "homecoming" concerts if you will. Very real. Tyler (the lead singer) used to actually do this at all live shows with a decent sized crowd (he might still do this, I'm not sure. They are much more huge now than they were then. The really exploded onto the scene. I remember going to see them with like 1,000 other people. They never did venues that small again after that tour). He would go into the middle of the crowd and mosh with them for a bit before getting back on stage and finishing the song. Super awesome. You can find live videos of him actually doing this if you search up live performances of the song on UA-cam.
As for the choice, Car Radio's Music Video is basically the perfect introduction to the band. I still think it's one of the most flawless music videos I've ever seen. First song and video I saw of them as well. Instantly hooked. I'm glad it showed up first for you because it's by no means their most viewed song on here. They have at least one song about to hit a billion views if not more. They might even have a billion views song at this point. I'm too lazy to check.
As for next song of theirs to listen to: can't really go wrong with any of them. If I personally had to pick the next reaction for you to do, Guns for Hands is probably my choice. You love deep shit with meaning and that song has an absolute ton of it just like this one does. Ode to Sleep is another seriously good one. Fuck it, do both! Love your content man!
I think stressed out is close to 2 billion views, heathens has like 1.5 billion and ride is really really REALLY close to a billion, they might have hit it already. But I'm not too sure haha :D
Shaq, they have a lot of great songs, "Heathens", "Stressed Out", "Heavydirtysoul" and "Tear In My Heart" are all good places to start enjoying their unique brand of music.

The sudden intense feeling that shaving one’s head will relieve pain through change of self-image, a coping tool like cutting, and usually regretted not long after due to the constant shifting of moods

Him shaving his head as I understood it was him trying to accept the thoughts he’s thinking and to be as true to himself so he’s taking away the distraction of his looks to understand what he really is inside. Also the mask is for him to be one with the crowd like without his identity holding him back from them connecting with him. This is just what I took away from it. This was the album that brought me to tøp and I love it :)

I never thought I’d see NoLifeShaq react to my favorite band, this is like a dream come true EDIT: I started watching you reacting to Joyner Lucas as he was dropping songs from ADHD so to see you react to what most people that look like us call “white people music” is astounding. I would love to see you react to more of twenty one pilots to get your thoughts on their lyrics. This song is from a true story where Tyler’s cod was broken into and someone stole his car radio, so then he was forced to ride around in silence for some time. His mind would often drift without the distraction of music.

This band, i listened to over and over again for, the band consists of the singer, Tyler Joseph and the drummer, Josh Dun. They are an unknown genre because they do everything. You will enjoy this band.
To your point about depression and cutting hair. It can also be about control, during a spiral of depression when you feel you have none.
Yes! Speaking from experience, doing something drastic with your hair whether that be shaving, cutting, or dyeing, you gain a sense of control over at least one thing, and that one thing can lead to another thing, and another. For many, it can be the first step in stopping the spiral.

The only thing that I'm a bit disappointed in is the video where he said he wouldn't react to BTS. Only bc, as I mentioned in a previous comment, there were two bands that my daughter listened to when I wasn't there for her for two years bc of a serious massive depression. TØP and BTS. It also made me sad that so many people were being mean about them, as well. I just always try to stay positive now, so that kinda bummed me out.
It kinda hurt my heart a little that Shaq says so much about all music having bars and he doesn't see race and/or color, yet he will not give them a chance. I DO understand the whole 'not wanting to jump on the bandwagon' thing and that ARMY are cutthroats. But ARMY are also very nice and supportive.

Eric Griffin sometimes it takes more than one listen to grasp the true meaning. He started off on a really deep song by TOP maybe lane boy or stressed out would have been a better start. Ik when i started listening (almost 4 years ago) i started with stressed out and lane boy and eased into the really deep ones.

This band was one of two that get my daughter through my deepest depression - two years - and some other things that she doesn't know about - and a mental hospital stay. This band means as much to me as it does to her. I'm so thankful for 21 Pilots

Lol! Love this reaction. They almost always have their fans involved in their videos. They are an amazing band. We went to their show and omg the vibe was intense!! Soooo good! They are by far one of the best bands I have ever seen live. Amazing for just two guys. Tyler is a genius with lyrics. Josh is amazing on drums. Never seen anyone beat drums like that lol.
