I'm seriously loving the wave of 3D platform revivals. Keep em coming!
Shut up
YESS
Yeaaaahsss
Rayman, Ty next I hope
We branched out and now its finally time to come home :3
Kao coming back after Crash and Spyro remakes, a Sphinx remaster, entirely new outings like Hat in Time and Super Lucky's Tale, _and_ right before our first true 3D Kirby game is making me so damn happy. I love this genre so much.
...and hey, Toys for Bob now works for you guys, Microsoft. How's about letting them take a crack at those Banjo-Kazooie remakes?
Truer words were never spoken!
Toys for bob would be great for remakes but if theres every a third game, please have Playtonic develop it if possible. Most of the original rare team is there now.
Toys for Bob loves platformers, so they should let them make/remake the game they want. Be it Crash 5, Spyro 4, or whatever. I just have faith on those devs and I'm happy they are not going to be wasted in COD for long.
Totally agree, absolutely loved the Crash & Spyro remasters.
Only Ubisoft is Missing Make New Rayman 3D Game
Really like the looks of this game. Didn't even realized it was a revival of an obscure "mascot platformer" at first!
it really depends for who, for me and Polish people Kao the Kangaroo was as popular as Crush the bandacoot at the time so then I wouldn't call it obscure. But it is a polish game so I can see why it might feel that way to others.
@@filip6filip Reminds me of how Fatal Fury and King of Fighters is really popular in Latin America.
It's great to see forgotten mascots make a return! Never would've thought Kao would make a comeback!
Finally, another platformer based on an australian animal. This is my favourite sub-genre
Can’t wait for the sniper tf2 platformer
Now for a ty sequel
@@YuhBoiBaker maybe someone can mod him into the game.
We need Ty 5 now
Well, somebody grew up with Crash and Ty.
Holy crap I didn’t think this game would ever come back. It’s like a miracle
Same here! A few months ago I thought back on this game and wondered why they don't bring it back.
I've been following the developer reports on Steam. I love seeing updates about this! Glad to see Kao 2022 has a release window now
Same!
Wait do you guys know this game?
This game gives me knack vibes
Can't believe this series is making a comeback!! Can't wait to see what it has in store for us.
This isn’t a new series?
@@GS195 Nope! Kao’s a classic! On the Dreamcast if memory serves me correctly :)
@@GS195 lol I was surprised too. I thought it was an indie game that mashed up Crash and Spyro the Dragon
This is exactly the kind of game I've been yearning for
hey negative, i didnt know you liked Nintendo
@Johny Lee It looks like crash 4 and I love crash 4 but this game plays absolutely nothing like crash 4 lol
If this is up your street, you should defo play New Super Lucky's Tale on the switch if you haven't yet. Absolutely delightful 3D platformer
Mediocrity?
@@Ephesians-yn8ux go back to your call of duty.
Looks like a hybrid of Crash and Spyro.
It does maybe that’s what the same company and the music is good.
It reminds me of a lot of the games in that Era of platforms. Jack and Daxter, ratchet and clank, Ty the Tanzanian Tiger, Sly Cooper, Blind the Time Sweeper. If this game has some of the Naughty Dog staff I wouldn't be surprised. But if there's a Crab Rave easter egg, then I'd be surprised
Kao was inspirated by Rayman
@@TalentedOnion BTW Kao the Kangaroo is a whole series of games from the PS2 era.

Kao definitely looks a lot better than he used to -- I still remember when he looked like a low-poly render of an MS Paint doodle of a kangaroo.
he does still look anthropomorphic which isnt bad
This is unexpected, but not unappreciated.
I love the colorful 3D platformer games (Spyro Reignited, Crash N'sanity collection, Super Lucky's Tale, etc). And this is just another one to put on the list.
I just want giant purple NFT ape playable :)
Major nostalgia from Kao's older games, never thought the franchise would come back
So you just ignore Yooka-Laylee, or….?
Hat in time be like
Is Kao in those games?
@Instagram User it doesn’t work here
Me too an under appreciated platformer in my opinion this gives me huge crash vibes, and now with today’s graphics it looks amazing, I really love design of kao in this game
They are definitely going full on with that turn of the milenium feel, even using a song from the early 2000’s.
Can’t say Kao is one of the more memorable platformers of its time, but this looks better than most (at least the animations do; hopefully it’s fun to play, too).
Shut ip
Which makes it even crazier. I felt like no one even knew about this game series. Didn't the third one ONLY come out in poland?
@@ToadetteGamer2 that's not very nice of you, toadette

@@niteriemcfarlane5285Interesting, why do you like his design? Just curious
The animation quality looks really good for Kao’s movement animations! I’m hyped for this!
Cant believe I haven’t heard of this franchise, this looks great and looks rlly like crash 4 in gameplay, artstyle and mechanics
Yeah this trailer reminded me of the crash 4 trailer with the music style I really love the new art style
Yeah, looks polished like Crash 4 was. Though, I'm a bit worried it won't look this good on the Switch, like what happened with Crash 4.
It does kind of have that style for sure. I love Nicholas Koles art direction for Spyro Reignited and Crash 4: Its About Time
@Instagram User shut up
You can get Kao 2 on Steam as this is technically the 4th game in the serie. It's a solid linear platformer. Keep in mind that it's a lot easier than Crash and it's very obvious that it was made by a smaller team. Not sure how this game is going to be as they pretty much change the structure of the game per entry while still keeping it in the same subgenre.
"Kao the kangaroo exist"
Roger from Tekken: finally a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary
I wanna see their battle so badly

Unfortunately due to scaling Roger probably Stomps.
This kangaroo just punched his way to the top of NitroRad's MustReview list.

Can't believe we're actually here!
Have been following this game since it's announcement, and it still makes me happy to see that the new Kao game is finally coming soon :)
The trailer looks amazing, and I always believed in you guys!
Thanks for bringing my childhood back, Kao is definitely an important part of my life ^^
I never played any games of this series, but having this niche series make a comeback as a 3D platformer is awesome.
the mainline titles were all 3d platformers. if you're referring to the crash bandicoot - like linearity, that was only the first game. 2 was open sandbox levels and 3 was completely open world
try it on steam
This one and it's sequel were a huge part of my childhood, I'm so glad it's coming back!
I was literally just listening to this song
AHHHHH!! I absolutely adored this game on my game boy. I CANNOT WAIT to see KAO back in action!!

This looks fantastic, more quality 3D platformers please!!
Let's go, it feels so surreal and nice to see Kao on official Nintendo channel!
I hope this does well. I'd love to see sequels.
its like a fifth game
So excited, Love a good 3D platform revival and Kao is so underrated!
Wow, this was a nice surprise. I've always considered Round 2 as a hidden gem despite it's shortcomings. I'm looking forward to playing this!
I’ve only just heard of this game for the first time in my life how come nobody told me of this, this looks incredible. I might need to play some of the older games
Kao 2 is a pretty good platformer and it's always like extremely cheap on steam (like $2).
Older games are nothing g special u less you have an affinity for ps2 era 3d platformers. Was in line with more low budget brands like ty that even on a purely gameplay level could never compete with something like spyro. Thay said they are still fun in theirbown right and the fact that this is a remake instead of a port suggests new entities are on the way
@@Infindox Kao 2 is GOAT
@@maxisenberg9093 Games like Ty and Kao were that in between of Indie and B tier studio (like THQ.) More along the lines of Aether Studios in terms of budget.

Getting HUGE Crash 4 vibes from Kao and the designs.
This actually looks insane, I figured a new Kao would be kinda rough looking (like Yooka Laylee or something) but this looks really high effort.

God, I remember playing Kao 2 on Gamecube a long while ago. Looking back, it was a decent game... and judging from Kao's other games that i've seen footage of before, it was also 1 of if not the best he had to offer. I wasn't expecting to see Kao get a comeback at all, then again Bubsy & my man Ty the Tazmanian Tiger came back... i'm interested in seeing how this goes.
Hope everyone that sees this has a great day!
I had the demo version of Kao 2. It only had the first part of the first world but I loved it as a kid and played it so much. And I was so excited when they released Kao 2 on Steam a few years ago. I loved it.
As someone who has never seen this character before, I ALREADY LOVE THIS GUY!
Dude...I love these types of games! Especially with this style! Excited for the release.
Dang kao making first comeback and using crash bandicoot 4 style

Can’t wait for this to release! I only played Kao 2 for the first time a few years ago, but it has to be one of the most passion-filled and charming gaming experiences I’ve ever had, even if it was a bit janky. Can’t overstate how amazing this new game looks.

I love how this game is a mixture of Ty The Tasmanian Tiger, Spyro The Dragon, and Crash Bandicoot 😊
Seeing Kao getting some decent attention in the comments just make me smile.
I had seen the updates on the KTK2 Steam activity, but I didn't expect them to comeback this hard! And onto the Nintendo Switch! This is awesome!
I'm so glad the industry hasn't found a way to totally smother mascot games. I hope this genre survives forever.
Okay I definetly didn't see that one coming. Kao is back, like a punch in the face!
No way, this used to be one of my earliest childhood games

My first experience with this game was it dropping on Steam, but they made it free for the launch weekend or something. Super glad Kao got another chance!
I am glad that they bring this game back it was my childhood
It's good to see one of my childhood games coming back anew.
Will admit as someone whose seen what the OG Kao was thanks to Nitro Rad I LOVE how this remake is looking. I mean seriously he compared it to Crash so here it feels like they rolled with it since I see what appears to be grate climbing (With his ears like in the OG games) and a chase scene. Can't wait to hear his thoughts on it while comparing it to the original. Though I do hope if Tate redoes Round 2 they add in the Multiplayer Battle Mode from the PSP version Kao Challengers as a nice bonus with online play. BUT what I want most of all is a remake of the third game (Yes there was a THIRD GAME released only in Poland and possibly other parts of Europe on Windows XP) Mystery Of The Volcano. If you want to know why again check out Nitro Rad he did FOUR videos on all the Kao games (The one not on the main games being on the joke of a GBA version for Game 1 and the aforementioned Kao Challengers)
I also heard about Kao through Nitro Rad! Cool that I'm not the only one :)
Always love to see other nitro rad fans. But not as much as I love to see b grade platformers getting a second chance. Let's go Kao
Kao 2 is on Steam, with wide-screen and controller support. And you can also change the region to change the voice actors, since America and Europe had different voice actors with different performances, for the English language.
I totally didn’t think this had a chance of happening, I adore Kao 2 on PS2 and PSP so this is awesome to see
