You seem to be a great guy and I mean this sincerely: quit competitive CS. If you have to put any effort whatsoever to climb from 1100 elo I don't think this will ever click
Some people just like to overcome hard tasks because in the end if you manage to reach your goal you will get crazy dopamine rush and the feeling of accomplishment.
Hard disagree. As someone that has played CS for 25 years,I have been to the heights of Global Elite and 20k, and have up until recently even been slumming it up at 4k. Wins and losses, skills and ability, all improve and deprecate over time. The only time you ever truly fail is when you give up. Lasagne's mindset is in the right place, yours is not.
I’m so glad you’re back I enjoy your content. I have been struggling myself. I grinded to lvl 7 on FACEIT. Then also went on a losing streak all the way down to lvl 3. I’m now back to lvl 6 but took me months and months even winning games consistently. Recently I hit a slump where my game sense is always wrong. I can’t seem to make the correct play. Keep it up and keep your head up
I used to rage like crazy for 4 of the 5 years I played CS in 1999-2004. I didn't reach the top until I learned to accept that sometimes things happen and stopped getting into tilt.
I solo’ed and went without a headset for a few months and comm’ed via chat. Massive loss streaks, games thrown by teammates who should’ve known things that were happening but didn’t. I got a new headset and comm’ed all important info they didn’t notice, since nobody else would. Suddenly win streaks. Information is like 70% of the battle, and in public matches, your effort helps to encourage others to put in comm efforts too.
Great music btw. You help a lot of players with your videos, myself included, even this one (i was a faceit lvl 7 with a 60hz monitor and living a crunching situation in my life last year, and now i'm back at lvl 3 when my life couldn't be more quiet peacefully and bought a 240hz monitor). let's keep the grind together. With music, CS and life. much love ✌
For real, your advice from a recent video helped me literally double my rank. You talked about playing a single position on maps and not trying to fill in where your team's gaps are, and I started doing that. For instance I will tell my teammates "I'm playing fast cat, every round, unless you hear me say otherwise." And some people might get upset about it, but generally their frustration doesn't last long and we work it out. But ever since I started doing that, I have gone from my losing streak in solos to now routinely winning 4 out of 5 games in faceit and premier. For real, your coaching, thoughts, and opinions have made a difference for me. Keep it up man 👍🏼
I agree with the part about striving for consistency will drive you insane. Especially when playing solo. I had a 3 kill dust2 game the other day where the three stack on my team was flaming the whole time. But the reality is everyone has these games. I could go into their match history and find games just as bad as the one I had. Just take a break and start fresh another day, dont let it get to you.
Great video. For me balancing playing for fun and being competitive is a must. There is still one server in CS Source I will go and play in when I just wanna have fun and laugh, its more focused on the good times with lots of custom maps and all speak. but will jump into CS2 when im feeling a bit spicy and want to work on improving and getting a sweaty game in. I have yet to find a community server in CS2 that even comes close to the communites that still exist in CS Source, you will find people who have been playing together for 15-20 years. being a CS player is a crazy rollercoaster at times but there is no other game that comes close to it in my opinion.
Man, I really felt this video. I quit CS a few months ago because it just wasn’t worth it for me anymore. There was always that chance something would go wrong, and I’d end up super mad-it could ruin my whole day. I realized a super competitive hobby like CS just isn’t for me. And honestly, I don’t even enjoy playing it casually. So, I got myself a 3DS and a Wii U, and now I only play games for fun. Zero regrets. I tryhard in uni and sports, but when it comes to gaming, I just wanna chill and have a good time. Maybe I’ll come back to CS in the future, but for now, I’m doing SO much better without stressing over improving at it.
@@CS_Sardine Been playing Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze lately, plus some of those classic casual Wii party games with friends. It's such a blast. Oh, and you can snag every game at a 100% discount if you know what i mean...
I've quit competitive CS because actually getting better takes too much time, which I no longer have. Now I'm only playing it occasionally for fun, got no time to aim train or otherwise practice: can never get better I do miss the competitiveness of it all, wish I could go back but I just can't see myself having enough time for it ever again

great content and great music! As someone with just under 8k hours in cs, I've never actually tried the Faceit grind. Probably played 10 Faceit matches in my life with some friends, and I'm like lvl 4 I think (I was supreme in csgo). If I can recommend anything, it's to always switch it up. Try something new, try a new map, and new route, a new smoke lineup, a new gameode, and this might help keep cs enjoyable for those who are finding it stale atm. Rank isn't everything :)
Not sure if you already do this but you should consider getting a squad and scrimming other teams, i cant explain how much more fun cs is when its organised teams attempting to win playing vs each other compared to pugs.
Good to see you are still hanging in there! I have 5k hours in this game and my experience tells me that you can easily reach level 10, it's just a matter of time. Your mechanics are definitely good enough already, not sure about the gamesense, though. Also, if you play with friends regularly, they might be the reason you can't climb (doesn't mean you should stop playing with them).
@@akti4467 Does that mean you disagree? Or are you just concerned about how well-founded my advice is? I watched every CS related video from him, including the coaching sessions as well as a couple of streams. I can assure you my statement was not made carelessly. ;)
oh damn is this music yours? it's great. btw the best i've ever played at cs is after at least 3 months not playing. but maybe that's just rank deterioration aka smurfing.
Don't be afraid to take a break from CS... Even for a couple of months. Your brain will integrate all you've learned during the break. When you get back to it, and after some hours of finding your footing again - don't be surprised if things just come to you faster and easier. Now you have a new platform from which to grow, yet again. Lesson is that forcing the issue usually isn't the best strategy.
I think the reason people weirdly get a lot of frags one day and play horribly another day is that CS has an undocumented momentum system similar to games like FIFA and Football Manager. It's not just form, if you pay attention during the games it really does not feel natural. I think there may be a something like a modifier, that may be changing in value in certain times or depending on your current form; and has an effect on your RNG values. The game uses RNG, meaning every gun has a radius of spread and in a simplified way; each time you take a shot, a random point within that radius is picked and your bullet goes to that point instead of your crosshair (I'm not certain, but likely the RNG generation is weighted, not fully random). So even if you had crisp headshot aim, your bullets won't go to the head every time. If there's a modifier dynamically changing the generation of your RNG values, it'd be really easy to alter your shots even if you are not doing anything different mechanically. I don't have hard evidence for this but I genuinely believe this, or something akin this is the case.
@@kuunomiku Lol I knew someone would say this. I do understand the doubt, but devs using Dynamic Difficulty or adjacent systems to adjust the general feeling and direction of the game for their general interests is really not that uncommon. Years ago people didn't want to accept the existence of scripting in competitive football games (mainly FIFA) but now rarely ever you see someone deny it, because it is really obvious as long as you are not actively trying to not see it. It's not as bad in CS2, but I would not be surprised at all if a similar system is in the game.
@@araikobzo are you seriously suggesting that the fact players can topfrag one game before bottomfragging the next can be attributed to a rigged spread value inherent in the game's mechanics? what would be the reasoning behind implementing such a system anyway?
@kuunomiku Multiple reasons likely. Keep the game unpredictable, make it still fun if you are a bad player etc. mostly the same reasons why momentum system exists in other games I imagine. I'm not exactly talking about a game by game basis, if this system exists it's likely to have broader time or trigger scapes. It's more likely to change day by day basis rather than game by game. I'm talking about times like when one day your sprays would go crisp precise and the other weirdly inaccurate, even though what you are doing is not really different. You know moments like those. One factor is that though, VAC is a pretty weak anti-cheat system. Cheats that can manipulate the direction/register of your bullets while shooting at the cheater, exist. If such cheats are more commonly used than we think, it may be the reason of this perception. But I doubt it really.
My advice to you is shifting attitude towards the game. Once I realized I can't spend a lot of time and energy on this game since it doesn't reciprocate, it's been a pleasure to play it since then.
It's really hard to meassure how good you are when the game is so chaotic: How good are your teammates / enemies, how is their mood, how is ur mood? It's so many variables. Lift up ur teammates positivly, brag at them when getting 3-5 kills, avoid arguing, make good calls, crossfire setup / bait-tactics with someone, when/how to use util, tradekills, knowing when to back off and when to fight etc. Try to look at the game as a strategy/tactical game instead of a shooting game.
