Cats are territorial and your porch is her territory. I guess she was there first. Having good relationships between neighbors is very important as well.

I would just clean up the hairball and move on with my day. In fact, you'd probably find me sitting on my porch with the kitty on my lap.😊❤

I wish I had this problem.! my MIL doesn't seem to be interested in spending any time with our kids! she just comes in take a pictures using the kids as props then goes home! she also expects me to host and cater to all he needs! Even when I suggest things she could do with kids she just goes off with her husband and never take our kids out anywhere!

Kids NEED extended family, Gmas, auntie, uncles, and cousins.. who would deprive their child of that 😮😮

Provided the relationship is good between the grandparents and parents, the grandchildren should spend time with the grandparents. Relationships are complicated though. Not all families get along, unfortunately. 😢

Parents shouldn't overdo the obligation to do chores or help out. It gets old sometimes. U don't want the son to feel like he has no free time.

Offer to have the grandkids for dinner and a sleepover so the son and daughter-in-law can enjoy a date night. It's a win-win.
Plant some catnip by the neighbor's.
Paying their son to do projects? NO!

A daughter is a daughter all your life,a son is a son till he takes a wife…it’s very sad when daughter in laws are not fair…my mother in law was fabulous…sadly she didn’t live long enough to see her grandson.

You were lucky to have a fabulous mother-in-law. Not everyone is so fortunate. 😢

As for the cat, just because you love your cat doesn't mean everyone else does. People need to either keep their cats inside or move to the country and let them roam.

The WORST thing that mother-in-law can do is call her son up and talk to him. She needs to have a kind conversation with her daughter in law directly. Talking to the son will only make the daughter in law feel ganged up on. Communication between a mother and daughter in law is absolutely necessary.
