I also tried it on my older Nexus 7 with Android 6.0.1, on that it works fine for both the TV and the record function, so I'm guessing the lack of ability to record on the Lenovo is an Android 10 issue. Pretty cool even if the record doesn't work. Glad I saw this on your channel. Thanks
I'm sure if someone reputable wanted to make a TV tuner for Apple devices, they would be allowed. These cheap Chinese product makers don't want to pay for APIs and want to put malware in their software. That's why there is nothing available.
So I recently bought one of these and have fallen in love with it. I do have a question, my unit says that it's recording, but I do not see where it saves the files. What directory are the recordings saved in?
I bought one a couple of weeks ago based on your older review video. The software is definitely the worst part about it. Second biggest complaint is that it wouldn't plug in fully with the case on my phone so I spent another 5 bucks for a little extension adapter. For the price I would still recommend it as a fun gadget to play with or the emergency/camping situations.
I got this tuner for Christmas and now I’m noticing issues with that when I put it on a channel I’m using a strong antenna. It usually works fine, but it starts pixelating after five seconds even if I’m using a stronger antenna like on the roof
Interesting device, unfortunately I'm using an iPhone. I have a question about RG6 Quad Shield Coax. There are copper coated steel center conductors and RG6 coax cables with solid copper center conductors that people swear by. Is there really a difference? I'm using a Channel Master copper coated steel center conductor and signals are just fine.
At TV frequencies only the surface of the conductor is actually carrying the signal ( see skin effect). So the copper coating is virtually the same as solid but, the preamp may suffer from voltage drop if steel core wire is used. If no preamp then I'm pretty sure shouldn't matter. Having said that I'm using steel core coax and a ( cheap) preamp with no issues at 50 feet of coax.

Avoid this unit for now! The tuner works as expected and gets a fine picture, but the app has no sound. 😧 The developers broke the app with the most recent update. Reviews on Google Play confirm that this is a problem.
Probably not. Apple is very restrictive with third party hardware. MyGica could've easily put a lightning connector on this dongle but didn't because there's no way it would work with an iPhone. If you want more freedom with your smartphone, get an Android. Google Pixel is great.

@@AntennaMan I thought it was getting the TV signal from the antenna. Why would it have an antenna if it's getting the signal from a download? Also you know for a fact it's uploading nothing else but what it needs to function as a TV?
@@mrfudd13 it's not downloading anything but rather transferring data between the tuner and your phone so you can see the channel. If you choose to think it's something else and send this tuner back that's your problem. There's more "personal data" transfered when you read this comment on UA-cam.
If you wish to catch better signal perhaps you would carry a amplifier. You wouldn't want to be carrying cable and all that they have smaller TV amplifiers that you can put on a window and maybe give you 15 ft of cable granted you're not going to carry this in your pocket but if you are in your car it might not be a bad idea to have this.

Apple sucks glad I don't use them
Another reason to hate on Apple products.
Avoid this unit for now! The tuner works as expected and gets a fine picture, but the app has no sound. 😧 The developers broke the app with the most recent update. Reviews on Google Play confirm that this is a problem.

Now that the iPhone 15 has USB-C, we might be seeing something like this for iPhones in the future!
Probably not. Apple is very restrictive with third party hardware. MyGica could've easily put a lightning connector on this dongle but didn't because there's no way it would work with an iPhone. If you want more freedom with your smartphone, get an Android. Google Pixel is great.
Hay antenna man can you please help me find the best antenna so I can get some channels. I live in the 70737 area code. That's Gonzales Louisiana...I live in an apartment and I have a balcony..I think the channels in my area are green and yellow...I'm very overwhelmed and confused...please help
I now offer antenna recommendations for a small fee at the link below. One from me can prevent you from spending hundreds of dollars and time wasted on setting up the wrong antenna for your area. antennamanpa.com/antenna-recommendations.html
That will even work on a phone without a SIM and a plan.
I wish the Apple iPhone supported this product.
Just looked at the Amazon reviews. Apparently, this "cool" gadget is junk.
It works fine the issue is a lot of people are trying to use it with carrier restricted phones that disable USB OTG.
Pbs 39: Ah a local Pennsylvanian
It looks like many of us may be preferring to live off grid in the near future with the forced lethal injections and the UN causing food shortages worldwide, for the US it will begin this September. Everyone needs to prepare bugout bags with solar panels and hand crank generators to charge cellphones and other electical devices along with buying this device to watch TV in the wilderness.
For iPhone there always Hauppauge Cordcutter TV just put in reset mode that way it kick self into HOC mode then iPhone will see it or another option is portable/mini wifi router and nice size battery bank to run both
Anthony Toste , I'd love to hear more about this option.
@@jeromewysocki8809 Like what ?.
First when you are a child, tv gets you hooked with childrens programmes now you come with this for adults who can't live without tv and must watch. I dont live in us i live somewhere in europe and tv here is bs too. Nothing to see on it!
This is great if you want to access local news and information on the go, or during a severe storm.
I bought one of these - waited a very long time for delivery. Finally get it and it needs you to download an app. I download the app, and the app REQUIRES access to your personal information, or it won't work. It's just a personal information mining scheme. Don't go for it.
No it's not. It requires you to give permission to exchange data which is the data providing the TV signal to your phone. Layoff the conspiracy talk
Seriously?!? Somebody still actually watches SNL??? That garbage? A young guy spending his Saturday night doing THAT?!? Should be out carousing. Kids these days. smh.
As far as the gadget goes:
- Shall we presume it will work on Android tablets as well?
- Minimum version of Android?
- Is it possible to connect a charger at the same time?
3:45 Look at the medcare commercial lol
Do you recommandé the iptv on phone to whach tv
Just watch Tubi, Crackle or something on internet unless you like watching them annoying TV commercials that TV stations dump plenty of soap!
Would be great if it had a charging port
I have a software defined radio (sdr) that I toy with and listen to. I can pick up AM/FM stations, weather radio, police and my local 2 meter ham radio club repeater. It drains the battery on my galaxy s10 1%/min?
those adorable little rabbit ears!
I have an iPhone is it possible to get one for it?
Good job cousin. You get a haircut? Operation on your phone...lol...
Yes I did! Which cousin are you?
@@AntennaMan thru beverlys uncle Donald , his wife Helen was my grandmother.
What does it have in the way of a signal meter? I am more interested in signal readings.
This tuner doesn't have any kind of signal meter. While it will show you if there's pixeling or not it won't give you an indication on how strong or weak the signal is. This TV tuner below has a signal indicator if you go to the menu and select channel setup: amzn.to/31HXMMA
