Have had this scooter for about a year and some change. When i first got the scooter, i was super happy with it's form factor and range. It looks very sleek, and the range on it can get me normally around 12~ miles in varying urban terrain. However It seems like to look the way it does, some practical considerations were sacrificed. Basically, the scooter has a wire going from the handle area down to the battery. If this wire is jostled enough, the scooter will suddenly power off - which you can imagine is pretty dangerous when going 15~ miles an hour (with no electrical brake access). This means that if you ride it long enough in terrain that isn't a perfectly smooth sidewalk, you will eventually have to open up the scooter and rearrange the wire to power the scooter back on. Meaning you either carry an allen wrench with you at all times (and some tape for the wiring), or you have to scoot this extremely heavy scooter. For my next scooter, I will forego the looks and get something more practical.
Thorough review. I'm looking at scooters as a potential golf caddy....putting my bag on my back and using the scooter to cart me around the course. It'd be cart path only and then walking across the grass to hit my ball then back to the scooter to get to the next shot. A round of golf is about 5 miles walking and this just might do the trick as my weight is 190 and I assume the golf bag is about 10 - 15 pounds. And my 13 yr old can use it as a toy around the neighborhood. Thanks.

Thanks for the great review man! I wanted to get one of these to go shopping but then we have the dilemma of where to store it while shopping :) Whereas with a car you have no where to park, with a light scooter like this, the issue is where you keep it since it doesn't turn into a backpack (which would really be cool) or for it to have a security ring to mount a padlock/chain so you can safely leave it out while doing your shopping or other stuff. I think that the perfect application for this scooter really is to go from wherever you are to your car, and then from your car back to your destination, supposing this destination has somewhere you can leave this scooter at.
@@Le_Sourpuss I saw a lady pushing her scooter of this size all over Costco the other day and it looked fine, not intruding on anyone. Store was packed too. Good review, lots of useful information. Thank you for posting. I have the duel motor version which I prefer. Some city parks in my town are hilly and the extra power was a help so I was ok with spending the extra money. I do wish the suspension was better. It's not bad, but sometimes on roads the ride feels very rough. But I don't know how scooter makers could accomplish that without sacrificing something. The horn--yes, it sounds harsh. It works well when scooting in vehicular traffic but it startles people if you're on a bike trail.
I want to add I have been using the stronger gear a lot more recently and it works well. I am so glad it's there. I get questions and compliments often on the scooter.
I saw in the beginning somebody was in your way so you went on the grass. Did the scooter slow down tremendously on the grass or were you able to sustain a decent speed?

UNAGI SCOOTER RENT/MEMBERSHIP REVIEW I was super exited about this one but i didn't expect it to be a disappointment because there are so many amazing reviews on it and most of them are not being paid to give a good review. Since they have no place to review it on their official page, i'm sharing my thought with you here. So if you are like me, looking for the right/perfect scooter, i think you need to read this. So the cool thing about this scooter is that you can either rent it for 40 buck a month or buy it for 990. The membership is too high in my opinion, that’s where they actually get you with that “one-time registration” of 50 dollars!! But fine, at least you get to try it out and rent it before you go spending a 1000 for a scooter you might not like. So the delivery was super fast, that was a nice surprise. Once i registered I received an email asking me to pick the time of delivery for the following day (options were between 10-2pm or 2-6pm). The next day i received a link where you can see the driver’s location in real time. That was a cool thing and who doesn’t love a 24hr delivery, right?! It seemed promising so far! But, ehh not really.. The driver arrived and handed me the scooter (out of it’s box) the charger and cable. No manuals, no instructions or booklet, nothing. So i called customer services just to make sure that i am not missing any paperwork or instructions, but there was no one to speak to, instead you could leave a voice message, your phone number and name and the reason you are calling AAAND if it is urgent you can email them. LOL really? Email for help? what if it were an emergency??So, their customer service is non existing, so that was very disappointing as i had to go back online and read about instructions. So first let’s start now with the things i liked about it: The design of the scooter looks sleek, modern and sexy, so yes it is pretty. It is a little bit lighter than other scooters of similar specs (no wonder there are a lot girls riding it), it is suuuper quiet (if you like that) although ppl sometimes get stunned when they see me ride past them as i appear like a ghost all of a sudden. And the one-click fold works great, so unfolding is effortless. There are 3 speeds, and you have the option of turning on the dual motor function, so those rides up the hill are effortless. Now sadly i do have more things that i disliked about it..And i was so hoping and really wanted this this one to be THE best scooter for me. First of all, whoever said this scooter was a smooth ride must have been drunk! For those who are not familiar, the tires on this scooter are “made of solid rubber and puncture proof, so they’ll never foil your morning commute.” I’m guessing they were scaling between ‘Would you rather never get a flat tire? or would you rather have a nice, enjoyable, smooth ride??’ Honestly, i would now pick a flat tire once in a blue moon than a super rough, bumby, and unpleasant ride every day! I kid you not, the ride is so damn bumpy that i started having headaches every time i would ride it. Because the tires are so hard, you feel every single crack, bump and rock on the road, all the way from your jaw to your forehead! So annoying! So i would constantly have to watch and focus on the ground, avoiding any cracks and bumps and the continues vibrations from them made me feel tense while driving and it kills the fun of it. It definitely did not make the ride enjoyable. Recently i even fell because i thought it could cross a thin hose on the street, even though i lowered the speed. Now on top of everything i don’t feel as safe on it. Even my partner who has an amazing scooter (no i will not mention the brand name, but if you ask i will tell you) and he tried it and said it truly is a rough ride. His scooter btw is so smooth on the road as if you are riding on butter! Also there is no cruise control, which i think they need to incorporate as you have to keep your right hand on the accelerator non stop, and if you need to fix your mask or glasses (i’m a righty) good luck if you hit a bump! But at least now i know exactly what i am looking for in a scooter. So i will not be extending my membership after all, even after only a month of using it. I guess the good thing about it all is that you can rent it and see for yourself. But i would not recommend it, in all honesty. Best of luck and if you do, wear a helmet!!! Pros: fast delivery / lighter than other scooters with similar specs/ super quiet / one-click easy unfold / emergency manual back brake Cons: came with no manual or instructions / tires too hard, terribly bumpy, definitely NOT A SMOOTH RIDE/ no cruise control / doesn’t not show how many miles you have left, only the battery bars / glossy finish (looks a bit cheap in my opinion, i think a matte finish would be sexier).
I return mine after a week. Sorry All the bump and the short distance kill all the fun. And the rubber platform where you stand is just a dirt, debris collector. The handler bar looks nice but the rubber won't last you long. Anyways went with the BOOSTER V plus Uscooter e-twow. Best damn 1k I have spent so far.
Don't fall for that "shocks from the holes in the tires" theory, I have one and it is absolutely of no use. I do like the bike but frankly, it has no shock absorption. You will feel the impact on your heels and knees and it's very unpleasant even when you hit a crack on the road that's about an inch. I slow down and sometimes have to get down and steer it aside by hand.
Yes because of the whole bag of feels like you can go faster is because there is a switch or a mechanism that you can do to take off or switch off to allow her to go up to 20 to 22 mph
This is by far the best review I’ve seen. Great job. I have an Emove which I like a lot. However, I have to get it serviced. I always thought about getting the Unagi as a back up. And it looks like this is what I will eventually do. Thank you for posting a review that covered all the specs as well as great professional production of the video. 🏆👈🏼
I really appreciate your review video. Nicely done with pros and cons. Excellently filmed with good voice work. Thanks for taking the time to do this. As for the scooter? I'm going to think about it for a while. 8 mile range is pretty limiting...
The 8 mile range you got is the only thing preventing me from investing in this scooter. I need 15-20 miles for that price point. I believe the minimalistic emphasis reduces the functionality of a larger battery.
Gd review. I’m looking for a good E scooter that will just get me from my campus building to another campus building relatively fast because of when my classes occur. it’ll be faster than walking and more convenient for me. I am new to E scooter so I really don’t know what’s good but I like the look of this one and I like that it’s pretty much maintenance free so that’s cool too I didn’t know that it came with a one-year warranty so that’s even better than some others I’ve looked at. I like that the wheels will never have any problems with them and for the amount of time I’d be using it I bet I could probably do a whole semester on a single charge lol. They are on a steal of a deal right now for $590 because they’re trying to clear out the 2022 models
Love the unagi just the range on 20mph mode …. once you use it who rides around in 15mph 3 mode? if the voyager can get 12 miles real world i’d buy one for sure. Getting a emove cruiser the model 1 e500 made me never want to have limited range again.
I believe so. There was a performance mode you could unlock on the scooter I had that got you over 20 MPH (didn't find out till later), but it looks like now they might just be selling them at that unlocked speed.
Thanks for the video! I just subscribed to their monthly service where it's just $50/month +$50 initial payment and I should receive it next week. However, after hearing that you had trouble reaching down to the handlebars and you're only 6'0", i'm worried cause i'm 6'7" haha
Really good video very informative the range is probably based on eco mode and usually they base everything on a 150lb person, asian people are generally smaller As a person who's a little bigger It's hard finding a scooter that can hold my weight and have the ability to carry a few things back from the store in a backpack or a bag Without breaking the bank and be like $1,500 I bought a swagtron Swagger 5 and I used it in the fastest mode It advertised that it was supposed to get around 14 to 17 miles In the fastest mode I averaged 4.5 miles I'm 5'10, 267 lbs Also the swagtron has an air filled rear tire which can affect your ride this scooter will not get a flat it was also a pain in the ass to put air into the swagtron the tire adapter they gave me didn't work it was busted I took it to a bike shop and they filled it up Both tires should have been hard rubber
Calling something "The iPhone of..." really makes you think, if anything, about the longevity and repairability of the thing. Pretty good content piece though!
Hello, very nice video ! Can I use excerpts from the video (without sound) to illustrate what I'm saying in my video? This is for a french presentation video. Thank you for your reply. Yours sincerely 😉
After I made the video, I was informed that you could unlock a performance mode that boosted the speed to 20 MPH and maybe they just do that automatically on the scooters they sale. Also, terrain and weight of the rider will affect the top speed you can get.
It looks pretty premium. I have a Ninebot Max which is a great commuter scooter. It’s important to have decent suspension or good tires I find Nice shirt btw
So it uses parts from better scooters and has the same operating os since the beginning and it was built for old people that don't want to struggle with use
@iRepGuam went with gotrax, can't rent recommend unless you go with the warranty and even with that their support team is less than helpful :/ would recommend a Bird for sure, it's a bit more but so much more worth in terms of battery and travel
First impression after 35 sec: tire dimensions seems to small for comfort, hmm loose looking wiring at front wheel, very small steer doesn't look like a stable ride
The Unagi ES500 (dual motor) scooter is TERRIBLE compared to my Xiaomi. Forgetting the price difference of Xiaomi costing a fraction of the Unagi. The only plus on it is that it climbs hills much better than the Xiaomi. The minuses are (1) feels much heavier than Xiaomi, (2) very rough ride to the point of unbearable when going on NYC roads (Xiaomi doesn’t have suspension but its inflated tires absorb most small cracks in the road), (3) no cruise control (in a $1000 scooter?), (4) no drum brake? (I really like Xiaomi’s dual braking feature when it activates both electronic & drum brake when you press the drum brake). The “no cruise control” and the “real rough ride” is a deal breaker for me so I’m returning it after 1 day of commuting with it. I’m going to look at UScooter GT/TWOW - everyone keeps raving about it! I’m really looking for a Xiaomi that would fly up hills like the Unagi and be as light as possible.
@@vapeurdepisse I went with the UScooter GT SE. It's amazing! Love it. No second thoughts at all! Have had it for almost 6 months now. Have 200+ miles on it - no issues whatsoever! Highly recommend! UNAGI SCOOTER RENT/MEMBERSHIP REVIEW
I was super exited about this one but i didn't expect it to be a disappointment because there are so many amazing reviews on it and most of them are not being paid to give a good review. Since they have no place to review it on their official page, i'm sharing my thought with you here. So if you are like me, looking for the right/perfect scooter, i think you need to read this.

LOL really? Email for help? what if it were an emergency??So, their customer service is non existing, so that was very disappointing as i had to go back online and read about instructions.
So first let’s start now with the things i liked about it:
The design of the scooter looks sleek, modern and sexy, so yes it is pretty. It is a little bit lighter than other scooters of similar specs (no wonder there are a lot girls riding it), it is suuuper quiet (if you like that) although ppl sometimes get stunned when they see me ride past them as i appear like a ghost all of a sudden. Now sadly i do have more things that i disliked about it..And i was so hoping and really wanted this this one to be THE best scooter for me.
First of all, whoever said this scooter was a smooth ride must have been drunk! The 8 mile range you got is the only thing preventing me from investing in this scooter. I need 15-20 miles for that price point. I believe the minimalistic emphasis reduces the functionality of a larger battery.
Settle for a bird es1-300 on Walmart for 299.99 made by Segway with 15.5 mile range and speed good buy 👌🏼
It depends on how you ride the scooter! You can get around 15 on lower settings!
Thanks for the review of this product. It really helped me on my decision on buying it. 👍
I really thought the beginning of this video was filmed in my neighborhood in the west side of Manhattan. Surprised me.
Fantastic review! Only things putting me off (other than the high price) is the small range and lack of IP65 waterproofing (for riding in heavy rain).
“Also too” Soldier’s favorite redundant phrase
I also too agree that it is.
Kinda remind me of Ross from FRIENDS
UNAGI!
I rented one from unagi and says im waiting for my order to be proccesed hope they dont take long to ship to boston!
Just got mine! So sick! I got it for a steal price! But it’s very very awesome
Great review. The website says it goes 20 mph. Have they updated it or is your review more accurate
I believe so. There was a performance mode you could unlock on the scooter I had that got you over 20 MPH (didn't find out till later), but it looks like now they might just be selling them at that unlocked speed.
I heard you can use it as a kick scooter also? I was told you cant use other ES as kick scooters.. handy if true once battery runs out
The color scheme reminds me of Pee Wee's suit!
Do you still enjoy this scooter? I am about to order one I think
I have this thing and it’s super fun but I wish the range was tripled lol
Thanks for the video! I just subscribed to their monthly service where it's just $50/month +$50 initial payment and I should receive it next week. However, after hearing that you had trouble reaching down to the handlebars and you're only 6'0", i'm worried cause i'm 6'7" haha
Hi there how many’s months you have to pay the subscription for you owner one of those?
@kevin how do you like it brother ? Been thinking about getting one myself.
Really good video very informative the range is probably based on eco mode and usually they base everything on a 150lb person, asian people are generally smaller
As a person who's a little bigger
It's hard finding a scooter that can hold my weight and have the ability to carry a few things back from the store in a backpack or a bag
Without breaking the bank and be like $1,500
I bought a swagtron Swagger 5 and I used it in the fastest mode
It advertised that it was supposed to get around 14 to 17 miles
In the fastest mode I averaged 4.5 miles
I'm 5'10, 267 lbs
Also the swagtron has an air filled rear tire which can affect your ride
this scooter will not get a flat it was also a pain in the ass to put air into the swagtron the tire adapter they gave me didn't work it was busted I took it to a bike shop and they filled it up
Both tires should have been hard rubber
Calling something "The iPhone of..." really makes you think, if anything, about the longevity and repairability of the thing.
Pretty good content piece though!
Brilliant review 👏
Agreed!
Hello, very nice video ! Can I use excerpts from the video (without sound) to illustrate what I'm saying in my video?
This is for a french presentation video. Thank you for your reply. Yours sincerely 😉
2:06 “RIP Peep” on the wall🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Thank you sir..could you show us the big speaker stereo and wheel options
Maximum speed 17? the website said 20...
It’s important to have decent suspension or good tires I find
Nice shirt btw
Yea, my main want for the next version would be a dedicated suspension system.
@@SoldierKnowsBest It's coming at a laughable $2,700
The Ninebot Max is great but very large and quite heavy as well. Not in the same portability class.
Do some people put this in a sling or something to actually carry it in if they needed to?
That would be so cool
I have a kaabo mantis 10 pro se. If unagi could make a scooter with suspension, 10 in wheels that goes 40mph with 40 miles of range I’d consider them
Probably could. But the model one e500 is designed to be as light as possible so to obtain that it can't have suspension or a big battery
I’m interested to know how does this scooter compare to the nanrobot I got that one and while it’s really good this one just looks so sleek
Looks like you can remove the speed cap off of this and increase the speed by about 25%. Here's how: ua-cam.com/video/t4UMm9CSXb4/v-deo.html
True!
So close to getting one of these.
That problem of those so called “scooters” is the fact that they don’t have any indicators for when you change lane.
Use your hand signals!! Also, grab a Lumos helmet that incorporates turn signals or aftermarket signals from amazon!
Good review! Make sense! Are they related?
Will I wreck if I hit a pothole? The roads are bad here.
Great video but please if possible use kilograms and kilometres not just pounds and miles(only in USA, Myanmar and Liberia).
This is the iPhone of scooters does that mean that it has stuff now that other scooters had 5 years ago
Yeh the hard tyres with no air that vibrates your feet
I'm curious what size are your feet? I got big feet and I saw u kept having to have 1 of ur feet on an angle
Any good aftermarket 'turn signal lights' for this escooter?
Great review am thinking of getting one
all my "friends" friends....wer u at.... #unagi
I'm here bro!
😑👈 Salmon skin roll
ABS Ross
That's a beauty. Tight review.
Agreed!
you in saint louis too? sick
Many folks end up in ER in cities riding these things.
Great review!
Definitely: between this and the hiboy nex5
Nice b roll of ball park village 😀
Thx!
Great review!! Gracias, Sir.
Hey do you know of the secret code to unless a higher speed? please let me know.
Awesome review, thanks....
So it uses parts from better scooters and has the same operating os since the beginning and it was built for old people that don't want to struggle with use
You need to review the the KugooKirin G3
Hermano me acabo de comprar uno ace poco y no se porque hay momento que se pone muy lento , sabes porque?
What 1/4 mile time will this thing run?
Thanks for the title; saves me time from looking through all these review videos for an overpriced scooter :)
@iRepGuam went with gotrax, can't rent recommend unless you go with the warranty and even with that their support team is less than helpful :/ would recommend a Bird for sure, it's a bit more but so much more worth in terms of battery and travel
I'm surprised about the cables sticking out from the side the bird air has none sticking out
boosted rev is the worlds best E-scooter... CHANGE MY MIND!!!
Sure. Two words: Rion Motors.
First impression after 35 sec: tire dimensions seems to small for comfort, hmm loose looking wiring at front wheel, very small steer doesn't look like a stable ride
How long does the batery last
Great review! Disappointed with the range at the high price.
It's all about quality, style, and performance!
What did you end up getting? I went through the same thoughts and ordered a UScooter/E-Twow GT Sport. Waiting for it now.
@@vapeurdepisse I went with the UScooter GT SE. It's amazing! Love it. No second thoughts at all! Have had it for almost 6 months now. Have 200+ miles on it - no issues whatsoever! Highly recommend! The only annoyance with it are the loud beeps when you turn it on or off but it easily gets to 25mph and climbs any hill.
Nice review,thx

IYKYK
I mean in terms of Design the scooter is good, but it has some missing features that some cheaper scooters have 🤷♂️
Unagi Ross
Excellent video
Ip 54 is not good at all in the rain. The 4 is the water rating not 54 the 5 is dust .
I need to know how it compares to the segway scooter
Unfortunately I don't have one.
No comparison!
@@UnagiScooters in which way?
Does the speed slow at a low charge?
Not really, or very slowly, speed slows only in the last 10% life
Nice video SKB!
Agreed!
