Horowitz this, Rubinstein that, Cortot these. Why is everyone who claims to love classical music full of bias and misconception? We get that you love those amazing heroes (I do too). But there is no reason to bring them around whenever you feel convenient to criticize others. That actually tarnishes their reputation and harms classical music more than anything else.

Thanks for this one Valentina! Awesome part. It's strange listening to the solo part. There are so many details. Now I can realize the great value of Rachmaninoff when his was composing this concerto.
Dear Valentina: Thanks so very, very much for recording the piano only parts of the Rach concertos. As I listen to you playing, I hear notes and parts that seem to submerge themselves when the orchestra plays with the pianist; your brain tells you that the piano is playing notes along with the orchestral parts that it really isn't playing. Your passionate performance of this music, particularly the final movement, brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it. Thank you, thank you for sharing your incredible talents with us mere mortals, for when we listen to you playing, it is as though we are hearing music from Mt. Olympus itself.
I absolutely love the Bosendorfer - The low end just adds so much depth. I will say as good as it is for classical pieces, it really shines best in jazz. Still amazed at how Oscar Peterson fully utilized it (course his hands were huge and he could easily reach those keys) - would have loved to hear Art Tatum play one - the greatest left hand of any pianist
Wow!!! I'm in awe. You are awesome! God has truly blessed you with the gift to play. Beautiful. I remember the first time I heard this song was when I watched the movie Shine. I subscribed to your channel =) God's beautiful grace to you and your family. Love the Weeks family.

Valentina touches my heart every time; your spirit is in my life. I feel blessed! Thank you! 😇
My own personal opinion is that the Rach Three is the greatest work of music ever written.
Thank you again Valentina for this masterpiece. Hope to hear many more of these ❤
Horowitz this, Rubinstein that, Cortot these. Why is everyone who claims to love classical music full of bias and misconception? We get that you love those amazing heroes (I do too). But there is no reason to bring them around whenever you feel convenient to criticize others. That actually tarnishes their reputation and harms classical music more than anything else.

Well have you ever heard Horowitz's Rach 3 because it is definitely something
Preach it, brother! Well said.
Very very well said Junghoo! Completely agree.
if I walked into a classical music shop that sold classical music on shelving and this song was playing through the speakers I honestly wouldn't know who was playing, but I so love this understanding. truly unbelievable expression through our meager frames. It must be from the aether. wonderful. I would give this 5 out of 5. top marks.
8:08 The best part of this, or indeed any concerto.
Valentina you are the pianist number one around the world
I'm loving this - what a fantastic piece on her.
Super Fantastica 🌹🌹🌹
Come sempre 🎀🎀🎀
Ineguagliabile meraviglia 💖
Bravo Valentina, es increible. Me gusta mucho tu interpretación.
Dear god! My heart just stoped. How can anyone play so fast?! I feel so small...
This is one of the most, if not the most beautiful piano solo I have ever heard !
Totally speechless a exceptional pianist !
Thank you Valentina! You are great!
+jgilvent Hi estic totalment d'acord!
just wow Valentina
Bosendorfer makes this piece sound like the masterpiece it is...there is no comparison in my opinion.
This was a thrill. Your playing is fabulous and I loved the camera work. 👏
I didn't have confidence issues about my piano skills before this...
I feel the same way, but here's another take. If she can play it _so_ effortlessly, there is hope we can with some difficulty.

LOL!
Tito B. Yotoko Jr. Why lol?
Nice
That's how she wields her sword. SHe destroys you before you ever start!
listening the solo version of a concerto is completely a different thing. you recognize a lot of new stuff. i really love classical music
Wow!!! I'm in awe.
You are awesome!
God has truly blessed you with the gift to play.
Beautiful.
I remember the first time I heard this song was when I watched the movie Shine.
I subscribed to your channel =)
God's beautiful grace to you and your family.
Love the Weeks family.
Let's forget the 100s of hours she practiced to become this good and lets all thank a fairy tale.
Lykos Jordi Only 100 hours? It would take me....forever!!!!
Gustave Ozag
HUNDREDS - you didn't see the s.....but I agree - it did take me forever to try - try - and try again...lol
Lykos - BTW - I love the way you expressed yourself...as I agree with you about the fairy tale......
There was familiarness to the piece of course but in many ways it sounded like an entirely new piece of music. And the fact that a true maestro of piano interpreted it with absolute perfection was a real marvel.
The most difficult piano piece I have ever heard! Valentiva, your performance is perfect!
Viktor Yuskovych I think only El contrabandista (Liszt) is more difficult than this piece.
So you haven't come across Prokofiev's 2nd concerto yet.
Satisfaction of classical music is where a human can play this complex piece so perfectly. Such a mature piece.
The QUEEN Lisitsa!!!
She knows this piece by heart?!!!! Super amazing!
Coming to think of it, the person who wrote this piece is just beyond a musical extraordinaire!
Haha I guess we're all impressed by different things. But I truly agree with you too. 🌹
From 06:20 to 06:40 (roughly) seems as she’s caressing little Rachmaninov from his childhood…❤️
This is insanely fantastic !
The most flexible fingers I've ever seen...Fast in an elegant way.
hi. i found your channel at 2.30am in Australia. i was following a thread to rach. to you. i want you to know, if you read this, that your passion for this magical music has touched my heart. that you have done him justice. that you have communicated his genius. congratulations on all that you achieve. and 'cheers' from a lifted heart.
I would love to hear her and husband Alexei play the two-piano transcription of the Rach 3. I bought a copy of the score, but it is way beyond my capabilities. :)
Magnificent! Pure virtuosity and beauty in your intepretation!
the day i can play this concerto, i will be the happiest person on earth
so are you the happiest person on earth now, or not yet?
Valentina is the only living pianist that truly understands Rachmaninoffs Concertos. I have 45 recordings of this work and hers is the among the very greatest performances.
I wanna know what was on Rach's mind when composing this insane piece. Mind blown!
