- Recorded for Kylie’s 1991 album “Let’s Get To It”, “If You Were With Me Now” reached number 4 in the UK charts and is a duet with US vocalist Keith Washington. The soul ballad was written by Kylie, Keith and long-time collaborators and producers Mike Stock and Pete Waterman and was recorded at PWL Studios in London.

This song reminds me alot of Mariah Carey's older stuff. It would have been a big hit on the R and B charts here. I just think its really timing on why alot of her stuff dkdnt catch on here.

For 2024 and beyond it would be amazing to consider a Kylie Minogue/Charlie Puth duet with both of them excelling at high vocal notes. Perhaps a Tom Misch/ Kylie creation along the lines of " Our Love". Teaming up with DJs Bassmonkeys or Calvin Harris, whoa ! whoa ! A few Kylie tunes with all of the lyrics in French or Spanish. C'est si bon !

I just rediscovered this masterpiece a few days ago! Keith Washington is one of the unsung talents of the R&B music community! And as a black man, Kylie Minogue is sort of a guilty pleasure artist of mine! I just love the essence energy that she brings to her music. So just last year I was randomly like "Wouldn't it be cool if Keith Washington and Kylie Minogue did SOME kind of a duet?" Then this song came back to me as literally some kind of utterly forgotten memory!!! 😮 Because I only heard it ONCE when it first came out, then NEVER again.....until a few days ago! Now I almost can't get enough of it!
