The ,,Fender 57/62", fully the ,,Fender American Vintage Reissue 57/62-Pickups", is a good pu for neck- and bridge-position. Advice from me to you: Put in the middle-position a DiMarzio True Velvet (or the former Version: Blue Velvet) and you get very smooth glasy inbetween-sounds, you can imagine!!!!!!!!
the cs69 is brighter and has less output. The 57/62 is hotter with more midrange, a bit more aggressive sounding and pushes the effects more with the output. Different tools for different jobs. the 69 has this angelic quality to it. The 57/62 has this raw in your face vibe. I would have two guitars each with both if I could!
Great video! Is the bridge pickup lower in volume compared to the middle and neck pickup in the Custom 69s? I have the same 60s Classic Player Stratocaster and when switching between positions I always notice a volume drop when I go the the bridge pickup. Is this the same for you? Cheers!
I can hear a difference. It's in the transients. The 57/62 has smoother transients with a more smile like frequency curve; The air or high frequencies are more present without being harsh.. which is critical for studio and loud live shows. The 69 is nice too but has snappier transients in the 2khz range and "warmer" mids that may be too much for studios or live shows. Through a phone speaker the 69 sounds better; but through studio speakers, the 57/62 all the way.

No, it is not. The bridge PU works perfectly well.

The 57/62 has to my ears a slightly fuller, more mellow tone. The 69 has a touch more edge. Both 10 out of 10! Think I'm also going 57/62.
