    This pump gas thats why its low. You could have revved ot to 7k too and made more. Did it actually make 17lbs of boost? Looks more like 15 power wise

    At least 1000hp😖 I would hope so. Many stock motors will lay down 1000rwhp these days. Come on guys

    That Dyno pull appears anemic compared to other builds with similar specs. I've been on the fence between boosted and NA for 5 years and still haven't decided.

    Something must be wrong with this Dyno calibration or with the Cam/Tune Perhaps Both! This is a 1200-1500 hp combination. Would love to see the A/F and boost readings for the run

    ......that motor damn near came to a stop when you backed out of it.... can even hear the belts slipping......The hell is with that. No run down at all. Damn near stopped on a dime. And a 4:32 you almost rolled the belt off the supercharger, when you back out you can see it slip back on the crank..

    • @JoeKoB18b
      @JoeKoB18b 5 років тому

      Doc8Ball's GearHead Gaming saw the belt move and pulled out. We outsourced the tune and it was way too conservative.. 1500-1600 is what we should have seen imo. With an aggressive tune, even more..

    Nice job. The one thing that I might suggest is relating aloud the DYNO graph results as you pop them up on the screen... not only for the flow in your video process but shows your knowledge, and eagerness to share said results, and that you are confident in that which you are doing.
    Not being critical my friend... trying to help you out in another way.
    Insted of telling you how to increase your DYNO capacity, and how much you can dyno, doing ' x ", or how much that combo done correctly will net you... those discussions are not for this format, right? Thank you, an experienced and yet interested viewer, Seth

    I'm finally over with the power war heap. I was all-in with a 427 2.9 Wip @ 9xx, and then a G42 Turbo. After several months of cooling off my enthusiasm, I decided to jump off to a simpler 700Hp NA alternative. Your 4.5L config is excellent for its intended purpose.

    Can someone explain why a huge SC'er like the 4.5 can only make a little bit....like 50-75 HP more than a Magnuson 2.3. There are Maggy 2.3 SC'er making over 1,000 FWHP. Thats about what this one made with 4.5 Whipple and a fully, top-end 427ci.........whats the deal man......? I keep seeing this all over youtube....they are all stuck at 1,000-1,100 FWHP. The new Harrop 2650 (2.7L) has already made 1,150 FWHP on a 388ci LS engine. Strange......

  • @7071t6

    LOL your never ever going to fit those headers in any engine bay from any car built around the world full stop, also you can get 1,000 HP from stock engines LS3 6.2 with a supercharger ,built bottom end and good heads with a 2.3 lt charger and still have it fit under the hood of a car, this engine is way to over done, basically for a hi end boat maybe for speed trials etc?

    That’s pretty low for 17lbs and a 427 and only 6300rpm. Have a 408 making that to the wheels through a 4L80 and 9” on a Mustang Dyno.

    • @lesgray3355
      @lesgray3355 5 років тому

      KTger I got basically the same setup and mine made 1,265hp flywheel. With the belt slipping at 18 psi from 5k rpm on to redline. Haven’t redynoed since the upgraded belt drive but should be close to 1,400hp at full boost 21 psi. All on 93 octane if it was on c16 it could make 1,500 probably but I’m not very interested in running race fuel.

    • @KTger
      @KTger 5 років тому

      Les Gray Whipple has an upgraded tensioner pulley if you contact them for big boost and high rpm applications. Few guys are pushing them to 26lbs at 8k rpms making 1600-1700 easily.

    • @PerformanceResearch
      @PerformanceResearch  5 років тому +6

      I won’t dispute any of these claims.. it made 1050 on a very conservative tune.. we decided to add timing and reduce fuel and it made around 1200.. our engine dyno has been referred to as a “heart breaker” and also accused of “reading low” neither are true, it reads real hp and torque.. and often doesn’t provide the peak numbers many expect. But at the end of the day, it’s s tuning tool.. peak numbers shouldn’t be your main focus.. at least in my opinion.

    • @KTger
      @KTger 5 років тому +1

      Performance Research I fail to see C16 and 1050 conservative? There’s about dozen engine builders with 388-427ci making 970-1030 on 12-14lbs and pump gas on conservative tuning. Engine Dyno is far cry from a heartbreaker because until the motor is bolted on the the remaining power train, you have no idea how much power it will lose before it hits the wheel. You’re right, numbers really don’t matter it’s about ET’s, but when ATI Racing is pushing 1600whp at 26lbs and runs low 4’s in the Sportman using a 4.5 and 388LS. Well that’s all the proof you need. But I’ve seen 434’s w/4.0’s making 1,000whp at 14.5lbs and 91oct and what my own truck does with a 408/4.5L. These numbers are low for C16... on an engine dyno at 17lbs it is what it is.

    • @PerformanceResearch
      @PerformanceResearch  5 років тому +1

      A calibration video is comming soon.. It just might despute the numbers you all are used to..but reality is a part of life

    Dam that big pig 🐷 takes a A LOT of JUICE to spin up. With that combo, I'm guessing the whip is eating just over 400hp. Turbos on that same combo with extra lagginess would have you at 1400hp at 17 pounds. You didn't tell us what your timing was set at. C16 at 17 pounds maybe 26 degrees, 24? We don't know the compression either. Lemme go back and look at the parts.
