If inflation is 10% one year, that means the price of goods will go up 10% in one year. If inflation is at 2.5% like it is now, that means the price of goods will go up 2.5% in one year. Prices aren’t high because of corporate profits. Prices are high because the cost of doing business is high, and businesses have to pass that on to the customer.
