What I love about your videos is that you simplify with using stuff like tea and other stuff that is easier to get your hands on. You are also a funny guy 🙂
Master Bruce is an excellent bartender and a great chef! :)) master Bruce, since the day i use your recipe about sweet and sour mix, my iced tea cocktails (long island, long beach, a.m.f and Tokyo) went to another dimension! Customers really love them! before, we were using already -prepared from the supermarket- sweet and sour mixes (really awful) and the drinks were pretty bad! waiting to see the cocktail you will make, by using this nice syrup! Greetings from Greece! Bill is out!! :))
Hi Bill! I always say fresh is best. Skip the crappy store bought stuff and always stick to do it yourself recipes whenever you can. As you can see it truly makes a difference for the better. Cheers!
You have a very charming screen presence and the recipe looks fantastic, loving the natural color that the blueberries lend to the syrup. Definitely trying out.
Thanks I made this without lavender and using honey instead of rock sugar, when I was done straining and removed the lemon peel I had a nice blueberry jam 🤯
Hey Steve! Believe it or not I rarely get drunk anymore, I also don't have three specific songs, I listen to such a wide range that for me it’s hard to pick just three. Sometimes it's good old Rock & Roll and other times it's Blues and Jazz. Sometimes too, I'll start flipping through my old vinyl collection. That can be fun. It really depends on the mood I'm in and the cocktail in my hand. Cheers buddy!
Hi Tomas! I've never thought about making a Triple Sec syrup. In the past I've made an orange liqueur but never a syrup. I'll give it some serious thought. Thanks for the suggestion! Cheers.
I do have other flower syrup recipes coming down the pipe. I'd like to make a Violet syrup but, I'm not sure I have enough wild violets on my property. Dandelion and Green Apple syrup sounds like a winner to me. And as far as dandelions are concerned, I've got plenty. Ha. There are a couple more that I'll keep a secret for now. Thanks for watching Micah!
Hello Bruce, Amazing video. When it comes to fortifying, would blanco Tequila work just fine instead of vodka? Or after fortifying with vodka, would it taste different if I wanted to mix with Tequila after? Thanks for your time. Salúd
Of course, Blanco Tequila would work just fine. There's not too much spirit being used to fortify the syrup. It might add an interesting flavour dimension. Who knows? If I drank Tequila, I'd probably give it a go. Haven't had Tequila since 1979. But, that's another story. Cheers!
@@BarTalkCocktails Bruce, thank you so much for replying. Wasn't sure if I would get a response being an older segment, but thank you. Please stay safe & healthy.
Drink idea Blv on the rocks (Blueberry lavender syrup vodka mixing glass stir. Rim the glass with salt and a lime wedge.) I like the name "Hey bartender let me get a BLV on the rocks baby"
Hi. No you don’t taste it much at all. I only use it to fortify it so it lasts longer in the fridge. You don’t have to include vodka at all if you don’t want to. Cheers and thanks for watching!
If my math is correct, you should get approximately 1.128 liters of syrup out of a kilo of frozen blueberries. I used 1.5 cups of frozen blueberries and yielded approximately 200 ml or 0.845 cups of syrup. There are 7.14 cups of frozen blueberries in a kilogram. 7.14 cups minus 1.5 cups = 5.64 cups remaining. 5.64 cups x 0.845 cups = 4.77 cups which is 1,128 ml or 1.128 L. If you use a food mill to squeeze out every last bit of syrup you will definitely get more. Cheers!
I've been making Gimlets with this blueberry lavender syrup and let me tell you, it has elevated the experience by 1,000,000. THANK YOU!
Nice! I will need to try that! Cheers!
OH! You've done it now....I'm a cocktail phenatic.
Yes!! Ha

You can't go wrong with blueberry jam. Either on your toast in the morning or in a cocktail. Cheers!

Awesome!! Could you make a video how to make the best homemade ,,triple sec” syrup? Thank you for you videos buddy.

BarTalk&Cocktails it would be awesome to see what is the best way to infuse sugar syrup with orange zest ! Love it, thank you.
Looking great. I like the idea of flower flavored drinks. Do you know other flower syrups?
My favorite gin is Bulrush made in Piedmont, South Carolina. It's heavy on the lavender and makes for a relaxing G&T.

I'll take two BLV's, please. I'll give it a go next time I make a batch of BLS. Cheers!
Do you taste the vodka very much with this syrup?

Not if you use a really good kind (not smirnoff)
Do you leave this out or refrigerate?
I usually refrigerate.
JUST ONE QUESTION : HOW MUCH LITRE OF SYRUP COULD BE MADE FROM 1 KG OF BLUEBERRY ???
LOVE FROM INDIA 🇮🇳
