GRAPE-O-LICIOUS GRAPE SYRUP for Cocktails! | Bar Talk & Cocktails

- It’s Syrup Day! It’s actually GRAPE-O-LICIOUS day! I get a lot of requests here on Bar Talk & Cocktails to make a certain Cocktail or to craft a certain type of Syrup. Unfortunately for me there’s sometimes not enough hours in the day. A Grape Syrup for cocktails has been requested multiple times over the years by multiple viewers. So today I’m finally getting to make some! I love getting requests so keep them coming. Just know that I’m not ignoring them. It just takes me some time to work my way through them all. I hope you enjoy this Grape Syrup. Like most syrups I make, this one doesn’t always have to be used as a cocktail ingredient. It’s a fantastic dessert syrup. Especially over Ice Cream. Add some Brandy to fortify it and this syrup will take your next ice-cream dessert to the extreme!
Be sure to follow along because next week I’m going to be making an original cocktail using this stuff…once I figure out what that cocktail is!
Cheers!

Ohh I have blue grape growing and they are getting ripe. Now I have an idea other the eating them when I mow the lawn!!
😂
I’ll be using this syrup in this weeks episode. It’ll be grape! I mean great! Stay tuned.
That grape syrup alone looks delicious, I'd love to taste it mixed into a cocktail.
I’ll be using this syrup in this weeks episode. Should be releasing in a couple days. Stay tuned
Would the chocolate mint express itself more if you bruised or muddled it when you added it to the grape syrup?
The residual heat achieves a similar thing
Exactly what Stephane said. The heat will release and extract all the aromatic oils and flavours from the mint. No bruising or muddling is necessary. Cheers!
Perfect shirt for this video! Can’t wait to see the cocktail you make with this syrup. Looks delicious
We’ll be using this syrup in a cocktail- new episode releasing this week. Stay tuned. Cheers
This is such an underrated channel. It's a crime it hasn't blown up yet. You ooze charisma, love for the craft, and the 40 years experience shows.
Awe thanks 😊
Never heard of a grape syrup. Looks delicious. Furthermore it's the spoopy season so here's hoping the Halloween season is coming along well.
Currently planning the Halloween episodes- our favorite time of year, ha. Stay tuned!
@@BarTalkCocktails you never disappoint Mr. Bruce.
Very cool!
UA-cam logic got me here and I thank the stars for it. Subscribed after watching just 1 video. Great recipe, amazing personality! Thank you!
Welcome aboard! Glad you found me!
👌🏼
Sorry Tim first!!!
That, my friend, is a bunch of grape seeds!!!! (Whatever that means)
You guys are too funny. If only I handed out prizes for the first comment... I mean I could, but I won’t. 😂 you’d bankrupt me Tim. Cheers buddy.
@@BarTalkCocktails HA!!!! I'm cheap enough....
grape syrup.....or wine.....as we call it in Greece for the last 2,500 year... .... My grandmother would collect the pulp of the grapes (after were used for wine) and make a thick custard with flour, almonds, nuts, sesame seed and the zest of lemon and orange (moustalevria in Greek)... that process with the mill reminded me of her... Nice video
That sounds divine!
Love to see a video of all but forgotten variant of the White Russian, the Smith and Wesson and the Smith and Kerns
Most of these are actually on my to do list. I need more hours in the day! Ha
This reminds me a lot of a friend's recipe for homemade cranberry sauce, but with grapes (and brandy!). Interested to see what sort of cocktail will use this!
Hey Jane. We’ll be releasing a new episode this week that features this syrup in a cocktail. Stay tuned.
Grape jelly ❤️
Can’t go wrong with grape jelly.
Looks delicious Bruce! Love grape!
Hope you give it a go Joe!
Another great video! I had the same thought that this would be amazing on ice cream
Most of my syrups work really well over ice cream. My crew loves the Triple Berry syrup. Pretty sure they make it only to use over ice cream.
Brandy is a good choice! As well as rum(fruit), gin(plants, since added mints) or vodka(straight forward).
Maybe red/white wine? Also made of grapes? IDK
Can’t go wrong.
Just so you know, if you did not make look so inviting, I would not have a collection of syrups. I think, grape syrup, spiced rum and seltzer sounds good right about now. Looking forward to what you will be making with this syrup.
New episode should be coming out this week and we’ll put this syrup to good use. Stay tuned.
This syrup over icecream sounds wonderful.
It is! Can’t go wrong.
Wine Syrup is delicious to make choose your fav type and add a cup of sugar to a cup of wine
Thanks for tuning in John. I’ll be using this syrup in a cocktail- episode releases this week. Stay tuned.
Great syrup, thank you! Fits for whiskey sour for me. What else can I mix it with?
Try subbing out the whisk(e)y for gin. It's marvelous. Maybe make a grapey rum sour with rum, grape syrup, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and an egg white. You can't go wrong using brandy as a base. Many possibilities are worth experimenting with. Cheers!
Hey Bruce, i really love the content. I've learned lots! Question: Do you still work bars in Ontario?
I do. I work at a popular chain restaurant currently. One day after I retire I’ll disclose the name.
The perfect shirt for making grape syrup
I know right. Ha
😀👍👏
😎
Could you skip the grapes and use Welch's?
I'll bet a dollar to a dime that this tastes 10k times better...
You could use Welches grape juice, however, your syrup won't taste quite as bright compared to using fresh grapes. Fresh is always best. That said, there would be some advantages to using a grape concentrate. It's less expensive than using fresh grapes, easier to make the syrup, and you'll be able to make a much larger batch. Happy experimenting. Cheers!
BRUCE!!! I'm just getting over the mac & cheese, nice reminder!!!! This syrup looks awesome!!! Grape Old Fashioned?? I cant wait to see what you use this for!!! CHEERS!!!
I’ll be using this syrup in this weeks episode. Should be releasing within a couple days. Stay tuned.
