Children & Anxiety: Pressing the "Reset" Button

  • Anxiety has become the health epidemic of our time. And what concerns me is how we think we need to treat anxiety in our children. In this video, I talk about how well-meaning parents may sometimes push our children into high-stress situations as a method of "exposure therapy". While symptoms may lessen, it doesn't necessarily mean that our children are no longer anxious. Instead, I share how resting in our secure embrace can allow our children a reset, and a chance to move forward from there.

    Thank you. I adore your advice. I have 5 boys. 15, 13, 10, 8 and 4. Please keep up the advice. I loved the short about hugging your son like a friend. That is crying in the middle of the night. It really works.

    Hi Vanessa I'm a big fan and have found your work very helpful with my very hyper and eccentric little girl...I still struggle sometimes do you have some advice for toddler meltdowns? It's very important to me to have the tools to be able to help her grow!

    Anxiety is a big problem with my special needs son . How would u do the reset with him? I have always been the shield & no amount of baby baby steps is helpin at all . Any advise ? X
