This video was filmed 8 and a half years ago, in December 2015. It was Ren's first narrative video collaboration with Samuel Perry-Falvey. They waited to release it until Halloween 2018, almost 3 years after filming it. For comparison, he filmed the videos for "Crutch" and "It's Alright" (off the album "Freckled Angels") just before this one, but he released those two just a few months after filming them, respectively in May and June 2016. For some reason, he held off on releasing this one. Maybe he was waiting for his music career to get going again. When he was 22, back in fall 2012, he was forced to take a hiatus from his career, when it was just starting to take off, because his health became too bad to reliably work as a performing musician. He expected to be back within a few months, but the hiatus ended up lasting until summer 2017. His career didn't really get going again until after the release of "Blind Eyed" in summer 2018.

Why is it that every time I hear this song I think of the 1990 movie Nightbreed?
If this was filmed in Dec 2015, he still did not have a correct diagnosus and was at tbe mercy if his illness. He woukd have had bouts with psychosis the summer before this . I wish i knew more of tbe lore surrounding this. Saw the bts on this on his Patreon recently. Him and Sam did a great job here
