      @@stevejones3339 completely agreed. I hope we are getting by a healthy largemouth population like Hartwell. Would make Lanier insane

    Cameron, have you seen any 10 pound largemouth bass in Lanier top in yet?
    After the spawn largemouth love large Bait caught an eight pounder on an 8 inch Mag Draft
    Another trick is get a $20 chatter bait cut the skirt off and put a 5 inch zoom white swim bait on it.

      @@davidblake5199 I personally don’t think I’ve seen a 10lber on lanier. I’ve seen a few that were 9s but probably not a true double digit. Have you seen any 10s? I know they are out there. Oh yes, I love throwing the big swimbaits. One of my favorite ways to catch them. I like the chatterbait idea. I have never thrown an oversized bait on a chatterbait

      @ thank you for letting me know. No, I have never seen a 10 pound largemouth yet on Lanier. May have to go up the Chattahoochee or upper end…
      Try the chatter bait no skirt 5 inch white zoom swim bait idea it works
      I have four and 9pounds two at 9.48 trying to get that 10 pounder lol have a great weekend

    When it cools off like it has, will they still eat it

    • @campetro10
      @campetro10  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes they will! Not as much though and I wouldn’t rely on it for 5 bites in a day. Some fish are still up shallow even after a big cold front and you could still catch a big one on it just bites will be much harder to come by.

      @@jackhowell7088 I cant give away all the secrets!🤣 im messing. not every day is going to be a swimbait day. this weekend for me was tough on the big swimbait. i still caught some but it wasnt great. i had to change. it is just like other baits in your tackle box that you need to rotate through to find what the fish want the most on any given day. However, if you are going to lock it in your hand regardless of conditions, try and find wind. that is very important. also this time of year look for the warmest pockets or pockets that have the most sun they will be best. also, pay attention to the depth you are seeing followers or start catching fish in and keep running that depth. again, not every day is a swimbait bite flat out but keep it honest and eventually you will have some days that will be stupid. pay attention to the spawn cycles too😉 it all matters dialing in those epic swimbait days! keep throwing it!

    That same cove you caught the third fish in I always have luck. You are the only person Ive ever seen in this area of the Lake on youtube. If Im right it looks like the cove after you pass the beach a bald ridge campground. I hope Im not wrong. I only hvae been there in the summer when the trees are full bloom. I just recognized that yellow boat with the cover.

      @@campetro10 we camp there a month out of every summer but I’m going to try to get up there in the spring this year. I usually fish around home in Loganville in the spring but I want to hit Lanier hard next spring. Is the fall bite good there too.? I’ve only fished it in the summer.

      @@Zanehoward88 very nice! It’s a fun place to fish year round but spring is wild. Yes, the fall can be a great time as well. The NPFL came to lanier last fall and had solid weights. It can be tough but still plenty of fish and big ones.

    Nice content! Will subscribe!What is your go to Magdraft size? And have you tried the new Zaldain’s B.A.S.S. mafia swimbait and Cull ShadCan you compare all three?

    • @campetro10
      @campetro10  3 місяці тому

      Thank you! I appreciate the support. I like the 6” for spotted bass lakes and tournament fishing. I prefer the 8” on largemouth lakes where I’m fun fishing for a big fish. I have tried both and imo the magdraft is head and shoulders better than both of those options. However, I have caught fish on all of them. I think the magdraft swims the best though for what I am looking for in a soft body swimbait.

    Megabass Magdraft

    Hey Cam, what rod do you recommend throwing the 6" magdraft on?

    • @campetro10
      @campetro10  9 місяців тому

      i actually throw it on a medium heavy jig rod. I use NRX+ 803 JWR but any jig rod will do. you just have to mentally be more patient when setting the hook especially if you watch the fish eat. I normally throw fluorocarbon though so the faster action “jig” rod is neutralized a bit by the stretch of the fluorocarbon. other than that i would lean to a medium heavy swimbait or chatterbait rod.

    I had a similar experience I caught and eight pound even on the south end in a blow down on a jig my biggest that I landed on Lanier and she looked spawned out early and her mouth was massive would have thought she was twelve but nope only eight I've caught five over ten out of a private pond biggest was a 16.4 on eight pound test wacky rig black and blue senko probably will never ever beat that but still Ive seen probably over 30 ten pound bass on Lanier either on bed or swiping my bait the craziest was a school of large mouth of 6 fish all over 7 to 8 pounds for sure across from Port Royal just cruising the bank around june and another moment mid lake in a shallow ditch three on beds easily all three in the 10 to 12 range but none would even consider biting
