I was a tourist, and nobody was rude to me when I actually spoke to them. Just because someone doesn’t smile and say hi to you when you walk by, that doesn’t mean they’re rude!
They just seem rude because a lot of people that live in different states, like these people, consider it rude if you don’t acknowledge and even sometimes stop to greet you

I’ve been to New York once, I’ve met an extremely kind woman. I was in trouble in the subway because I couldn’t understand anything at all (New York’s subway system is a total mess), and she helped me right away (I didn’t even ask her to). She suggested me to download a subway plan app, which was really handy, and she told me which stop I should get out at. Same thing on the 9/11 memorial: I was taking pictures of the One World Trade Center tower and a man who thought I didn’t know where to go spontaneously asked me wether I needed help. this video is a little misleading because they are focusing on just the the boroughs, new york is a large state and once you get out of the new york CITY, its much slower paced just like any other state.
Yes! I live in NC but my parents lived in upstate NY and whenever id say I’m going to NY or say anything related to NY they automatically assume NYC and it drives me nuts
