I love how the woman who adopted the girl didn't keep her in the dark that she was her mother and told her who was her real mother.... and I love how the little girl was understanding about her own mother's circumstances and didn't blame her for anything 🥺💜
Thank you! Absolutely, those were two very important story points that I wanted to convey. Thanks for watching!
Yes
Im an adopted child. My biological mother never loved me, and even if she do, I cant forgive her for what she did.
Not all orphans are the same.
@@fer_nanda4509 Must you be so judgemental? How do you know that your natural mother doesn't love you? How can you judge a person without knowing much about the person you are judging? Have you ever tried to see her or talk to her? Do you know how many adopted children are stolen from their birth families? Do you know how many women are forced into giving up their babies for adoption? Do you know how many adoptive families murder birth mothers to get hold of a child? Do you know how many adopted children are lied to about their origins and their biological parents? You don't want to know.
That's what healthy communication looks like. And healthy relationship.
I love the fact that they showed the biological mother of the child to be somebody to be sympathize with. Not all parents who give up their children for adoption are evil and just don’t want to take care of their kids. It really depends on the situation sometimes.
Uhm, I’d say the vast majority who place a child for adoption aren’t evil. the worst kinds of people often KEEP their kids because they’re selfish and the child suffers or ends up removed.
@@Wakeupgrandowl I didn’t know. The only fosters I have seen are in movies and media. They are always portrayed as evil
Thank you Alexandria! Great point, every situation is different, and @WakeupGrandOwl is right in that they are not evil. You are absolutely right though, a lot of times in films/TV, they are portrayed that way or just aren't shown at all. One of my main goals for the film was to include the biological mother in the story and give her an equal role since that relationship is often omitted, yet so important in the context of adoption. Thanks so much for your comments and thank you both for watching!
@@alycevest2679 i think its a very Heartwarming animated short ^ _ ^
@@hyzron thanks so much!!
Aaa gosh, I didn't expect this to get so many views! It's crazy! (I voiced the mother, Corrye!) All of the comments here are so sweet and supportive. It feels like forever since we recorded the lines. It's unreal to see how far it's come and I had no idea that it was in so many film fests! Thanks so much for the love! The director put a lot of heart and soul into this and I'm honored to have been a part of this project
^ Amanda did an absolutely wonderful job of bringing Corrye to life!! Thanks for being part of my film!
U have a beautiful voice✨great job
It's such a beautiful film.
You voice is really beautiful
Do you still do voiceover jobs? How can someone contact you
Thanks for your part in this beautiful gift.
Children born during unfortunate circumstances deserve to live a better life. There are willing parents out there who'd love to take in children.
AMEN
I love how this actually shows an adoptive parent not vilifying the bio parent.
I have a lot in common with the person who gave birth to me.
In my adoptive family, I was essentially a replacement for a dead child from four years before I was born.
I wish my adoptive parents would have encouraged me more to find my bio parents. It was supposed to be an open adoption... No one talks about the predatory religious adoption agencies which take advantage of pregnant people who, provided with resources, would be more than capable of loving their baby and giving them what they need.
Adoption is a good thing if done right, as it seems in this short, but if done wrong, or if done with selfish intentions, the child can end up broken. Horribly, horribly broken. I'm 21 and realized just last week that I can't live up to a child who never had the chance to live because of course someone's potential is, to an extent, the most perfect version of themselves. And how can you live up to someone who doesn't exist, and therefore who's entire person can change at the drop of a hat if expectations on you suddenly change?
Absolutely, there’s no reason to vilify anyone in the adoption process. It’s a delicate process and you’re right, when it’s done right, can provide beautiful results. But must be handled with care. I’m really sorry to hear that you are struggling with your adoption journey. It can be hard to have thoughts like that where you compare yourself to someone else. As an adopted person, i can understand that. As I mentioned in another comment, one of my favorite quotes from Kung Fu Panda 2 is, “Your story may not have such a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are. It is the rest of your story, who you choose to be.” I hope it can bring you some comfort. There is no one else in the world like you. You were put on this earth for a reason, and the world is a much better place with you in it. So live for yourself, create your own beautiful story, and try not to worry so much about what could have been. You are here and that’s all that matters. Wishing you all the best ❤️
“…or we could have vodka!” 😂 This was such a touching little film. If it didn’t pull at your heart strings I’m not sure what will. Two different kinds of love is a beautiful thing!
Glad it made you laugh! 😂 thanks for watching!
thats a russian kid alright
I cried because I too had a similar experience and I'm thankful for both my foster parents and biological ones for being in my life. This is really beautiful and a healthy portrayal of families who have gone through adoption and fostering.
Pure love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.
Great comment!
Pure love is when you are BOTH happy. Sacrificing yourself will harm the other in the long run.
Great work! As a filmmaker, I've always found it hard to establish character relationships in a short time, but you did a phenomenal job doing that. I hope you create more movies in the future.
Thanks so much, Dermot! It's definitely tough to do. Animators are all about character, and I had a lot of fun exploring all the intricate relationships in the film. Thanks for watching!
@@alycevest2679 You’re welcome.
More people need to realize that adoption really is a beautiful thing. We just need fix the system to make it easier, and make sure the kids go to good ones like this.
Agreed!
I did not need to cry, but I'm glad I did.
It was just something in my eye....
Absolutely tops in creativity. Beautiful story. Applause to you all for addressing this issue.
Thank you Charles! I’m glad you enjoyed it
Just enormous amount of love and emotion .... really this video teaches us the kind of love in this wrold which is really very beautiful thing ❤️❤️
Thanks so much for your kind words!
When the adoptive mom said “ just two different kinds of love” I lost it 😭 thank you so much for this wonderful masterpiece!
Just awesome. No better way of telling an orphan, he/she was n is loved by two parents.
Such an important message. Thanks for watching Jenny!
Such a beautiful story. Makes my heart feel warmer. Thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Barb! Thanks for watching!
This is a very special video!! Good job!! Hits very close to home, four of my siblings have been adopted from the foster system ❤️ and we love to celebrate their adoption days! They have a lot of questions that are so important to answer and guide their precious hearts through, and I love how this video displays that!! Good job and thank you!! ❤️
I love to hear that! I'm so happy my film can help you guys :) thanks for watching Madelyn!
Well done! From start to completion, what a stellar creation. All components came together beautifully.

I agree! Thank you!
Ah, a movie that made me cry. Very well done.
Thank you Myk!
The best animations are not in Disney nor in big Corporations with their bias and agendas, its in the individuality of each artist.
I am absolutely in love with the part where she said “when we were *both* ready”. My Aunt and Uncle adopted my cousin Matthew and he is an absolute joy. They tried fostering and then adopting other children, but for some reason or another it never was able to work out. But we still have Matthew. I remember each time that an adoption fell through, it was really tough on them so they decided to just take a break and enjoy their time with Matthew, who I could gush on about for forever❤️❤️❤️❤️. But this line really resonated with me because an adoption doesn’t just affect the child, it affects the whole family. And it’s okay if the adoptive parent isn’t ready to disclose some things or if they want to wait a little bit before telling the adopted child that they’re adopted. Idk I just feel like we almost always see adoption from the child’s perspective and not the adoptive parents perspective.
Alyce, so proud of you, as always. Mom.
^ best mom ever ❤thank you! Love you!
BEAUTIFULLY DONE, GRIPPED AT MY HEART STRINGS
That letter made cry! Beautiful....
A beautiful story told in a beautiful way. I love that the adoptive mother is so supportive and understanding of that the girl wants to meet her biological mother.
I like the story very much... it speaks to the human heart who is capable of so much love, either in giving up someone for the better, or picking up where someone let go to hold on till forever... Indeed love is the greatest of all human qualities...
Absolutely love this comment and agree with everything you said. Thanks for watching!
I literally cried 🥲🥹. Adopted kids with parents who are angels are very lucky. I am also adopted, from Colombia and I am so lucky I've been adopted. My biological mother wrote a letter with the reasons why she wanted me to get adopted and how much she loves me. I haven't seen her and don't know if I ever going to see her, but I will try to find her someday and never forget her. This video gives my point of two kinds of love so much clearer.
That's what more people should do: Adopt.
There are so many people who WANT to adopt, but the adoption system is broken, which is why we need to fix it.
Oh, probably yes.
I knew a couple Michael and Kristene, who married late in life, and eventually adopted a little girl called Oksana from an orphanage near St Petersburg in Russia. She became the most loved and cared only child, and is now an adult making her way in the world! Beautiful story ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
That's wonderful! Thank you for sharing your story, and thank you for watching!
Try to explain it to Nina Victoria Hilt, Lydia Charity Schatz, Ciera Hart, Victoria Rose Smith, Max Shatto, Dennis Merryman, Alex Pavlis, David Polreis, Liam Thompson and numerous other unlucky children.
So proud to watch you achieve your dreams!! Love you so much.
^best brother ever ❤Thank you! Love you too!
First time, this kind of thinking based movie.
Unique....
From Bangladesh.
BRUH SHE KNOWS AT AGE 8 DANGGGG THATS A GOOOOD MOM
Oh wow. This was so sweet and such a positive spin on adoption . I actually have tears in my eyes
Telling your children the truth is always the best thing to do 😭😭😭😭😭💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
This is how adoption should be. It should be dealt with using maturity, emotions and practicality. Putting forward the exact scenario the child is in without making him/her feel like their life is complicated or different, implying it is not 'normal'. This way, they feel like the adoptive parents are their new safe space but they will always have their blood, lineage and ancestry to fall back on, without making any one party the enemy
Tears...in A VERY SIMILAR CASE! wonderfully put!!
Thank you Misty! Glad you enjoyed it!
f... thats sad and hearthwarming at the same time ....
lovely from the depth of my heart
Thanks so much Vinayak!
This is a very moving story for me. My husband and I adopted a little girl named Annika from a mother who wanted to give her a better life. It reminds me of when we told her she was adopted. Ours is a story of the love of two mothers and a father.
It's not even that sad... It's just too heartwarming yet my tears were hard to stop gosh
It was a beautiful story, but when I watched ending I cried because she animated her own story. 😭
Thanks so much for watching!
❤Hermoso
Whether you are biological or adopted they don't matter. Each child is special to all the parents.
A very heart-touching story. Amazingly portrayed. 💜

@@alycevest2679 tHANK YOU...WE ARE ALIVE SO...BUT I´M DOING OK...
"One saw your first sweet smiles, the other dried your tears" had me in awe
this is really uplifting the adoptive mother was always mindful of the little girl's origins and knew that it was in her best interst to know her birth mothers story,so that she could understand that she came into this world as loved as when she was adopted. many adoptive parents will keep this infor from children, either as a misgauided attempt to protect them,or enxiety that the child wont see them in the same light after knowing.
i personally think its better to tell kids young or not at all...the longer you wait...the harder it can be for a person to grasp and accept this fact..
cause i imagine it would be a weird feeling finding out something like that as an adult.
because this is an unfotunete truth espeically in countries outside of the US ,where hardships force poeple to make very difficult decisions...giving up a child for thier own sake os one of the most noble things a parent can do...not knowing if the child will ever know or understand...risking perminant estrangent and not knowing thier future...all in favor of just the chance that child will lead a better life..
What a beautiful story. I'm not even adopted. And I'm crying. 💖
That poem made me cry :,)
It makes me cry too ☺ thank you!
This is is such a cute and happy story that it actually made me cry 😭
Such a perfect way to explain adoption to a child.

yeah talk about a tear jerker. i dont think most moms give up their kids because that is what they WANT to do. they normally have no choice or think its the best choice.
Absolutely. Thanks for watching!
Story aside i cant stop laughing when she said "Or we could have vodka!"
"WE CAN HAVE VODKA!"
"uh, no."
why cant i stop laughing for 10 minutes

Love lovely and lovelyness.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This would have been a nice childhood but i never had one. Was put with à horrible family.
Only if you really can’t keep your Child with you, the inconditionnel love of biological parents is the most important.
Or be lucky and find à family like this mother in this video who gives all of her love.
Wonderful video
Ps: people with the same background as me. That you may be strong and have a lots of love
I’m sorry to hear that. One of my favorite quotes from Kung Fu Panda 2 is: “Your story may not have a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are. It is the rest of your story, who you choose to be.” I think it’s a very comforting message. Hope it brings you some comfort too ❤️

As an adoptee, this hurts. I'll never understand why children have to change hands to "have a better life" if someone wants to impact a child's life why not help a family stay together? #adopteethoughts #adopteevoice

Wow. I’m in tears.
I'm gonna adopt a beautiful baby girl just like her.
Until now I haven't realised that love can be so discriminating and hypocritical. How about adopting all the ugly ducklings with burnt faces and severed limbs whose parents died in American airstrikes or in countless wars backed up by America's military might?
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL !
