    it so nice to see how beautifully caruana played. Created a backward weak c pawn in whites camp, doubled the rooks, exerted pressure, blockaded the pawn from being pushed ahead and captured it. Then punishing the blunder and winning the piece.
    Nothing less is expected from the player of cauana's caliber. Really something that we can learn from the game.

    I miss John Urschel on the field, but it seems that he quit while he was ahead; with all those concussions in the NFL these days, his mind would be a terrible thing to waste.

    John is breaking the rules...You should hit the clock with the same hand you moved the piece.

    I want to see Fabi win the Candidates and take on Carlsen in November. I don't think he will win that one but at least he will be able to say he challenged for the big one. Who dethrones Magnus I think it will be someone from the next generation!

    He is only a 1600 rated chess player. No chance of beating Caruana in a chess game.

    Why does he resign so early? I know he’s down a piece but just let him checkmate you which is what the crowd want to see.

    • @JoaoTito_1
      @JoaoTito_1 6 років тому +9

      He was down a piece, that's enough.
      To make your opponent play until the end in a hopeless/lost position is boring and rude. Even more if your opponent is much better than you.
      The guy showed class and resigned when he should.

      I hate when people won't resign from unwinnable positions. Why waste my time demonstrating I know how to promote a pawn to queen and win with a K-Q ending?

      Although Fischer was arguably much stronger during his reign, purely judging by elo rating (yes, rating inflation is undoubtedly a thing), Fischer topped out at 2785 while Fabiano sits at 2794 currently.

      There is no such thing as inflation. There was a reasearch on this topic and they discovered that in fact there was deflation rather
      You can search paper, for example "Instrinsic Chess Ratings", written by chess players who are also matematicians.
      Also www.researchgate.net/publication/224453252_Skill_Rating_by_Bayesian_Inference
      A comment from this paper - 'This shows a steady progression in IPR [intrinsic performance rating] throughout chess history, mirroring the improvement of sporting records in other fields and ascribable to better human health overall, and greater wealth allowing there to be more enthusiasts. This argues against ratings having inflated relative to skill.'

      You are such a fucking dumbass he said "highest rated", not "strongest", are you deaf? Fischer played at a time where he was the highest rated player in the world at 2750 (technically he was the first super GM in history) and all the other top players were below 2600. Caruana, however, has eclipsed 2840 before, and is currently in the 2800s. Therefore, he is the highest rated American ever, but if Fischer were alive, playing, and in his prime today he would probably be rated in the 2800s too
