Jenny may be a naive privileged teenage girl, but there's one scene in the show where she's genuinely compassionate. In the scene of Claire's father's funeral, Jenny reaches out and squeezes Claire's arm out of comfort and respect (and wearing a pride pin) while Claire and her friends and family walk in the precision line. Jenny even cries during the scene.
Interesting thing about Jenny is she's rich but not well liked. That's rare to see on TV. At the least on American shows, the rich kid is typically also the "popular" one

Ah, got to love Michelle and Jenny's interactions. If Michelle was the girl we all secretly wished we could be, Jenny was that one annoying teacher's pet that we all DIDN'T want to be!

The Cast without exception are really talented as is the Writing and I STILL miss some subtleties which have been mentioned in the comments like Erin lighting the candle while singing along and the fact that Jenny's sidkick sings perfectly while Jenny hogs the spotlight with no obvious talent :)
I'm a German living in Japan and this is my FAVORITE series of ALL TIME! I grew up in Germany in the 90s and have no idea about life in Ireland but I still can relate to all the characters as if it were my own family and my own teenage years. I wish it had so much more episodes
While the show is based in 1990s Derry, it can pull all sorts of audiences in. I'm English born and raised but now I live in Glasgow. This is a great show, seen it from start to finish 3 times 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
