When we lived in Arizona when we were young, we watched Alex Trebek and the game shows he hosted The Wizard of Odds, High Rollers. Double Dare, The $128,000 Question in its 2nd season from Toronto, Ontario, Pitfall from Vancouver, British Columbia, Battlestars, Jeopardy! and its Jeopardy! spin-off Super Jeopardy!, and To Tell the Truth plus the Decisions, Decisions, Second Guess, Lucky Numbers and Malcolm Pilots which were not sold. And he made his own appearances on The Hollywood Squares, The Magnificent Marble Machine, To Say the Least, Celebrity Bowling, Card Sharks, Wheel of Fortune, and as a consultant on the Jeopardy! spin-off game show Jep! and its other Jeopardy! spin-off game show Sports Jeopardy! with host Dan Patrick, and the National Geographic Bee. And he was the host on the CBC's Music Hop and Strategy for six months in 1969, and Reach for the Top, a Canadian game show in Toronto for several years. RIP Alex Trebek 1940-2020.

This Alex Trebek moment at 1:50:00 clearly indicates why daytime TV at the time was a great place to be for joy and positive entertainment. From "The Wizard of Odds" to "Jeopardy!", Mr. Trebek made it so. RIP to an eminently good host.

The edition of High Rollers here is from July 4, 1975 (I know that because someone else previously posted that show on UA-cam). One of the contestants on this show (the champion at the start) was Ray Wersching, at the time with the San Diego Chargers where he was the placekicker. He would become the kicker for the San Francisco 49ers two years later in 1977 and would be their kicker for the 49ers first two Super Bowl teams that won Super Bowl XVI in January 1982 (end of 1981 season) and Super Bowl XIX in January 1985 (end of 1984 season).
