I mean he can still manually activate it, and we know he could do it for multiple days straight back then too, so the only reason he would have an umbrella in this context was bc he wanted to share an umbrella with geto, its also a parrarelel to season 1 op where he walked thru the rain with flowers as if he was visiting a grave.

Gojo did what was before manual now automatic, basically making his infinity Operate on its own, filtering everything on the foundation of those aspects including threat levels. So he could definitly Filter out the rain with his infinity if he wanted to, there is no problem with that

He still doesn't have the ability to do it naturally as if he's breathing. He still a jujutsu sorcerer that burn up his energy when he uses his infinity cause he still doesn't have neither the control nor the ability needed to just do it every time. I am not saying it's a task that will exhaust him to a point to be drained, but what I mean is at this point of the story Gojo Satoru is still someone that will choose the umbrella over the effort of using infinity just to look cool. He's still not that overpowered monster that can just do it without even thinking. Here he's still someone who would find it a pain it the ass to use infinity just to avoid using an available umbrella. An exemple is like Usain Bolt. Fastest man in the world, but still he doesn't run to get his groceries. It won't really tire him to do a simple fast run (not a sprint) of like 800m. He can do it some times, for the fun or just to test himself, but it won't be often. But the moment Usain Bolt will unlock unlimited stamina and always in shape muscles, I think that he will quite often run to do his things. (This exemple requires that you forget the concept of transports lol)
