It's 15 TIMES more expensive, for a very very small difference is sharpening, and no, it's not easier to use because the cheap one has dumbproof guides. Don't buy the expensive garbage.. get the cheap one or if you really want results, buy wet stones.
There are countles cheap knock-ofs of that rolinf sharpener. Sharpener youtuber OUTDOOR55 has a good review of the original HORL sharpener, its a good but very expemcive product with good results
The problem with pull through sharpeners is that in the long run, they absolutely destroy the edge geometry making a much more duller knife as the edge becomes more rounded. The grit pattern on the edge is also ruined and that leads to it not sliding through material as easy. You can get a rolling sharpener (like the expensive one) for around $30-$50 and they're much much better and easier to use. Albeit yes, they aren't as good as the $189 one, but plenty good for home chefs.
So, not much more difference and many time over the price between the affordable and expensive sharper et. At least you were not lying with your results. Good job.
Try something between the price of these two like the spyderco offering. Lansky makes one similar in style to it too that’s much closer in price to the first one you showed.
Please please please, don’t put much pressure when sharping your knives :( that’s how you mess up the edge more 🙃. Be more gentle kinda as if your petting an ant. Very delicate and trust me you will have a sharper edge.
Don't use "cheap" because it quickly destroys your knife and that "expensive" is garbage better buy some worksharp or lansky And for cheap just buy some wet stones
The rolling sharpener didn't destroy your edge like those pull through pieces of garbage. If you care about your knives, never ever use a carbide pull through piece of shit

In long term that cheap sharpener actually destroys the blade. So if you have a good knife, buy the good expensive sharpener
It’s cuz he used it wrong he didn’t even do the leather strop. Usually when I use it I get a 40-90. The cheap sharpener destroys ur knife
🤓🤓”actually its whetstone”
Perfect statement, you're 💯% right 👍
Cheers from 🇦🇹

No you spent more money and it only got 15% more sharper
That's why he is bad reviewer
But a wet stone the best
you didn’t use the correct methods for the 2 sharpeners
Next you should use the sharpener’s correctly and see what the results are.

The problem is you did not strop the blades either

what's the point of being expensive if it is beaten by a cheaper one..
Smaller digit is sharper. But it's still not worth it to pay this much for such a small difference.
The problem with the expensive one is it's way too small to reach my chinese cleaver's cutting edge...
Place it on a cutting board for height. That was the suggestion in another video and it worked from what I saw.
Place the roller on a heightened object... thats what they say.
@@virp9632 i'd need at least 2 very thick ones, or 4-5 small ones XD. The knife is like 6 inches high
@@MattCantSpeakIt you can jus put it on like a container or box.
What? Its easier to use than the first sharpener?
Opinions
you can use block of wood and different sand paper grit

Im waiting on a similar one to the cheap one, I dont expect to shave with my knives so I can wait for the whetstone when I can afford it.

Just get 2 dollar sharpening brick from your local diy, and avoid destroying the edge with pull through, sheesh.
I bet you any chef could make you a great dish with a butterknife.
