Eiger North Face - Cross Country Paragliding from First - Grindelwald, Switzerland Bernese Alps

- This was one of my favourite flights of the year, which again is from an accessible launch site of First, above the Grindelwald Valley.
This cross-country paragliding flight starts in Bernese region of the Swiss alps from a mountain launch called First which has a cable car to take you right to the top. You can get here from the town of Interlaken easily via the train in approximately 20 minutes.
Take off from First is at 2200m where you can fly lots of routes from, if you are beginning your cross country adventures you can take one or two thermals directly over to Interlaken for a great 15k flight. Alternatively fly the horse shoe style flight we take in this adventure, or go bigger.
This flight starts out from First 2200m, where we get a climb to 3,000m / 9,800ft and glide over to the Chrinnerhorn, and again climb up to 3,500m / 11,500ft flying high over the Upper Grindelwald Glacier before gliding along the north face of the Eiger towards Lauterbrunnen. From here we fly back to Interlaken which was the planned goal of the flight but decide to extend the flight as the day and weather is still working working in our favour.

Which do you prefer, GoPro head cam footage or Timelapse footage?
Time lapse + the commentary is most useful for my own learning. I hope to copy this flight some day! Epic, cheers

Brilliant video! I love all of your Swiss alps content. Keep it up! The routes you take are very beautiful and relatively easy to follow.
One thing to keep in the back of your mind for the future when flying in Swiss airspace: Unless you are less than 300m above Ground, you are supposed to stay away from clouds. 300m vertically and 1.5km horizontally to be precise. Just so you know. Because you can get in trouble because of it.

@@jonathansummerfield8390 unfortunately I’m in the Uk so missed out on those days, but a friend told me it was good.
I think the Supair description explains the changes really well and I would agree with it. Compared to the original, the back support is higher up in the harness which makes it comfier. It’s more unstable and you can feel what the wing is doing much more. I think I’m the cockpit is at a better angle, and my legs used to hang a little high in the old one, this is now fixed and I hang nicely.
Cons - the internal pocket in the backpack has been made smaller and now doesn’t fit a water bladder! Also the reserve handle is very small, it’s not a problem, but would be nice if it was a little chunkier but the just preference I guess.
If I was given the choice again, I would definitely upgrade.
