Honestly, I cried more over the fact that Decim was crying and feeling this emotional pain.
same here..that broke me
I'm a whiny little Bıtch and Decim my poor baby ! 😭
I think in all honesty, the fact that Decim cried was the best thing ever, not because he was upset, or anything like that, but the fact of it is still put this way. Arbiters Aren't made to feel, They aren't Made to sympathize with humans for it isn't in their nature, It's like... Telling a Robot to cry. Or at least that's how Nona put it, as well as Decim numerous times, But the fact that he eventually realized that what he was doing, to an extent Was Wrong. Everything Decim knew, Everything that was Programmed into this man by Nona, shattered. It all shattered and fell in his lap. He was able to share human emotions, even though he himself, Was not human and never was, Never will be. But the fact he can still Sympathize with them is just wonderful in my opinion.
Yeah ik that killed me
Yep
I was happy I watched Death Parade.
Now I'm sad because I watched Death Parade.
+Fox Faeez (Unstable Individual) same
same 😢😭
Oh the feels...
I couldnt agree more.
Fox Faeez yeah this girl who talks is the worst the feels
Death Parade, aka "The anime with the most misleading opening EVER."
+Luca Morgenstern Ever seen Madoka Magica?
You mean Gakkou gurashi! ?
Felix Chow At least Gakkou Gurashi's OP changes over time.
+Luca Morgenstern Berserk also fits this imo
+Luca Morgenstern Shadow Star Narutaru 's opening was the most misleading for me.
This anime was insane. The "Sorry for not valuing my life" And "Why? Why couldn't I have granted that one wish?" scenes just murdered my soul. Suicide really is a hard subject to think about and Death Parade doesn't even try to go lightly on it. It murders my insides. I love anime that make me lose a bit of my emotional stability every time, and Death Parade took a big ol' chuck out of it.
The saddest thing about this show, Is that there was no second season.
madhouse never makes 2nd seasons
Still Cleaning Up Your Shit I need more anime
Still Cleaning Up Your Shit I swear saw you before somewhere
The show definitely asked for a second season. There was still conflict between Nona and the old guy about the purpose of the arbiters.
theres been comfrimed for a 2nd season its just a matter of if its coming or not
I fucking cried bullets when Decim cried, and his smile at the end didn't help either! QAQ
I can watch it over and over again
I died...why must they hurt me in this way...
Same ಥ⌣ಥ‼❤
Mariam Nisar What did you expect from a video called "Everything You Didn't Know About Death Parade"?
+Hetastic Bro Made you wanna go and hug him.
I think I literally cried a river at the end of this anime.
JjaySei _19 same m8
JjaySei _19 What did you name the river that you cried?
TheTwistedRebellion the river of feels. Or something like that...
JjaySei _19 the red river?
Rynnlii sAmE but I'm also not depressed or suicidal anymore for some reason
About the Light Yagami thing, Death Parade was made by the same people as Death Note, so that's I guess why he's there.
Also the end of that video oH MY GOD WHY. I CRIED AT THAT SCENE AND NOW THE FUCKING GRINCH IS ALL IM GONNA BE ABLE TO THINK OF.
Addison's Drawings I dyed when u realized that it could possibly be connected
Addison's Drawings same studio (Mad House) not same person.
Light and Harada are also played by the same voice actor, Miyano Mamoru
but as far as i can remember, ppl who use the death note aren't able to be sent to heaven nor hell... so when there is no hell... doesn't the void take place in it? because you suffer a lot in there... that brings me to the thought that kira couldn't go any direction from there, right?
anime is the only place that you'll find upbeat songs thats not about being on drugs
*cough*panda hero*cough*
Three words: Honey and Clover
+AriaEleanor no three words Attack On Titan
Nothing wrong with drugs, abusing or excessive use of them is bad,but that applies to 95% of things that exist.
^ Those are the last words of every guy in rehab right now.
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED LIGHT XD
SAME
XD me n my sis laughed so hard at that he deserved the void for episode 15 (I think it was 25) ;-;
I was thinking the same but where would the fun be in just getting rid of him. I'd want to see his crazy laugh (we all know the exact one I'm talking about) and like a parody of him trying and failing many times on leaving and just being carried back casually by the death parade characters
Tru XD but it was still messed up ;-;
Yeah, true
You forgot one little Easter egg, if you'd count it as one.
Spoiler alert!
You know how the opening ends with the lady sitting down holding the chavis (I think that's what it was) dolls? (I forgot her name) In the final episode it replays the opening, and the opening ends the same, except the lady sitting down holding the dolls is a mannequin. You can see it by looking at her hands and knees ^_^ It adds a level of feels to the anime.
+musicgirl674 Haha, I was searching for this comment! And it was Chavvot c:
The boy's name was Jimmy and the girl's Chavvo.
@TheMistLink I know I'm late, but he did end out doing that, you can see the mannequin at the end of the last episode.
There is also a scene where Decim holds them the same way during Chiyako s judgement.
jimmy lived chavvot, but chavvot was deaf.
i think this also has some deeper meaning...
This is the anime of my life. It had such an impact on me. Especially Chiyuki , I love her and her story the telling of how depression actually works and that it's not an easy battle when you fall down that rabbit hole it takes all your strength to climb back up. Also glad suicide is shown to be a " You gonna go to hell" way. Unless you've battles with depression or have a mental illness ya got no idea how hard it is to get the thoughts of dying out of your head. Some lose this fight, that doesn't make them bad.
A part of me wanted Chiyuki to stay, but I know she had to go, but UUHH whatever it was a beautiful ending that made me cry. Especially the very end were you see her Mannequin place next to Decim's bar she's the only one that is more detailed he even carved a smile for her. Goes to show you can know someone for a short time, but they can affect you life completely.
Death Parade was an anime I was holding off on watching until a few months ago, but when I finally watched it I realized I missed out on watching this perfection for way too long T_T
Same thing m8 Just watched it last week.
Sarah - Kun Nightcore lol just finished 12 episodes today haha
the fact is that I only heard that this anime existed 1 week agi :,(
+Rainbow Snake *ago
same here, smh... I should've been watched it.
I wish they made it longer, the anime series was way too short for me
Then go see Death Note. It's much longer and it was made by the same person who create Death Parade.
@@nadaouardane2206 Same studio not person. Also, you should be grateful that we got 12 episodes cause as far as I know, this was originally just a one-shot.
Ikr considered it was really good
@@nadaouardane2206 lmao who hasnt watched deathnote?
@@user-iv7hr4yf1f cough cough
I always thought that Quindecium, the bar's name, was a mix of the previous arbiter, Quin, and the current arbiter in the bar, Decium.
Same
The arbiters are given names based on the floor which they are assigned
yeah same
**DEATH PARADE SPOILER** Another Easter Egg: At the end of the opening, The wrist of the female Chavvot doll in Chiyuki's hand is cut, resembling the death of Chiyuki herself.
They said in Death Note that Light is to be sent to Mu, nothingness, the void, without any judgement and instead put there automatically. Meaning that one way or the other Light is to be sent to the void. If this actually is supposed to be related to Death Parade, this means that Ginti's offer to Mayu was nothing but a test.
Excellent! Even I thought the same. She passed the test causing Ginti to realise that his perception on humans was wrong.
I almost cried at the last episode SO sad for real tho
jo-el Plug Almost?........ALMOST?!You're a monster.
YES IT IS SAD I DID NOT ALMOST CRY I ACTUALLY CRIED
This anime is actually a masterpiece.
I love that there's so much mythology and philosophy in this because in my world history class we focus on Buddhism, Hinduism and other various religion
Definitely didn't binge watch this anime without stopping only for food
I wonder if there will be a future Anime released which has Death Parade and Death Note combined
Grey Crimson I hope
No wonder they had so many people die.
-Deaths per hour increased by at least 200. Most likely from Japan, done by Kira (either Light or Misaki as it was around the End of Death Note)
-Light appeared in Episode 11 (sorry I can’t remember), further proving this is taking place around the end of Death Note
-Light stayed there and was alone because “Don’t think that a human who uses the Death Note can go to Heaven or Hell”
-There was a new Shinigami in Death Note: Relight, probably Light because of the signs (see theory videos), so maybe he was only there waiting to be turned into Shinigami
I hopeee
I want L and light together in Quindecim😂
I feel betrayed...my sister thinks the anime is boring....well I loved it sooo
Your sister must have been Kirino
My whole family thinks anime is boring , but I can't even pass a day without watching anime
jazzz 55 Depends witch anime it is
u can go into budahism she can chose another religion that fit her beliefes
Man what's wrong with your sister lmao jk but this anime is definitely one of my favorites
Episode 9 killed me, i actually needed to take a moment before i was ready for the next one, it was so dark and well written. I will admit, i was so disappointed that Chiyuki and Decim didn't kiss before she left to be reincarnated, I loved them so much and really wanted something to happen. The ending image where he has her mannequin by his side at the bar was just heartbreaking. Loved this anime so freaking much, so sad it's finished :(
Naomi Mowatt Them kissing would’ve ruined the moment plus Decim wouldn’t probably understand love only deeply caring for her.
VibrantVampire0 yeah i agree😭 a hug wouldve been nice but im satisfied with the ending as it is😁
What happened in episode 9 again?
@@layla.a I havent watched it in a while but im pretty sure its when she was skating and she messed up her knee and she then realized that she didnt have much more time
@@layla.a I think episode 9 was the one with the 2 murderers
An easter egg that I noticed first now was that the ending song is literary about suicide. Like.. They called it out trough the whole series that Chiyuki killed herself and no one noticed that ._.
In the full version of the song the lyrics right before where the shortened ending song starts there is one line that goes; "I can't see how this chain reaction has brought me to the edge, I'm looking down" and then.. Everything in the song just kinda falls into place that it's about suicide..
Definitely an amazing series.. ending killed me tho T_T
Totally. "I'm sorry for not valuing my life." Really hit me
+akidearest last week i watched the anime, and that rly hit me too
+akidearest yea there was a lot of tears shed starting in episode 3
+SouL Animation I loved this anime to bits... Only thing though I felt like they could've done so much more with the anime XD
+SouL Animation I loved this anime to bits... Only thing though I felt like they could've done so much more with the anime XD
Death Parade was awesome! I balled my eyes out for that last episode (and a few other scenes). Loved it 👌
btw i loved this! I never noticed or thought about these things before when i watched it! I shouldve payed more attention in class when my teacher talked about mythology and stuff
who else shot their hand up in the air or did a pose as the theme played?
+Isabel Magnolia YAS
Ohhh, so THAT'S what that was! I thought it was Chiyuki gliding across the background past Decim, but I hadn't noticed she was wearing her skating performance dress and her skates. I thought she was dressed normally and was just humourously gliding across the screen's background like quite a few characters do as a short introduction of themselves during the opening of some anime. A revelation of her past never crossed my mind.
Light and Harada is voiced by the same voice actors too btw and maybe that's the insider humor of this anime..
YOU SHOULD HAVE TALKED ABOUT THE ENDING SONG
It wasn't as iconic and memorable as the intro.
Randy Reyes Iconic or not, it was worth mentioning.
Yukina Kou Matter of fact, I skipped it after the 3rd episode, not because it was bad, but it didn't caught my attention that much.
Randy Reyes Alright, /good for you/. It's not the same for me. I felt the ending song was interesting and fun to think about as I applied it to each character. And I personally just like the song.
Honestly, I loved the ending. And I wanted to know who´s the girl with green hair...
Throughout the entire anime, I held it together an didn't get that emotional or anything because it's just not in me, but finally seeing Decim experience emotions and the way he cried so honestly and purely really just hit me hard. And then the way him and Chiyuki were crying in each other's arms was so sad but beautiful. This was honestly one of my favorite anime's ever.
I would kill for a special episode where decim judge light yagami, what do you guys think, will he be reborn cause of his deeds to make the world a better place or the void because he kill so many people
+tom mike that would be epic xD
+MaxCringe Gaming the heaven in death parade is get to be reborn, while the hell is the void, light used the death note so he can't go anywhere, soooooo maybe he will be reborn as a jugde ? So all the other judge are death note user too ?
Given that the arbiters had so much more work than usual because of Yagami? Probably the void. Not even that he killed those people, just that he made so much more work for them.
Oh shit I remember too that who uses the DeathNote goes neither to hell or heaven (void) RIP Light
+Dessert Limbo True!
So that means... Light either has to get reincarnated forever or he becomes an arbiter. I REALLY hope they use that as the premise for season 2
k
But you did forget that nor heaven or hell excist in this anime ^^
Holy shit, you're right.. crazy
Haha, Awesome video Aki!! I loved that possible Light Yagami reference in it. Also that Grinch bit at the end had me laughing so hard I was in tears!
You missed one reference in regards to Oculus. An additional characteristic he has in similarity to Shiva is his in his name. This is in reference to Shiva's third eye, which is said that if opened it will bring the destruction of the world.
Welp. Time to rewatch it
When I watched that episode where Light made a cameo, I freaked out!!!! I was like OMG!! HE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE LIGHT/KIRA 😲😲😲😲😲. I was actually kind of excited about it, as I've never truly seen an anime character make a cameo appearance with my own watching 😄. I've seen it a couple times when watching anime reviews, but it's so much cooler to watch it in the actual episode 😄😄😄
Dango Lover So did I.
so true
Same here!!
Me too! I was so excited I paused the series and googled "light yagami in death parade" just to make sure I wasn't the only one who saw it. Sure enough, everyone was talking about it :)
Dango Lover, yeah!! Exact same thing here!😃😊😃
"I couldn't help but think I've heard these names before" because everyone just stumbles upon mythology names in everyday life...
listen buddy ever heard of rick riordan? (if you haven't, he's an author that writes books including lots of mythology (greek, roman, egyptian, and norse so far)). the beginning of this comment wasn't meant to be rude, by the way, just mildly sarcastic.
Yolanda Tai its fine, so was mine
I just watched the final episode and cried as a little baby. Anybody noticed that when Decim hugged Chyuki his eyes turned human. Arbiters have crosses in their eyes and his eyes chnged when he cried. This moment made me cry.
I am SOOO late but i still want to put this out there [SPOILERS]
my theory on Decim's and Chiyuki's relationship is that given the fact that Decim knows nothing about human emotions since he doesn't feel them, he is only able to express himself through the judgements he makes with Chiyuki but when he learns more and more about her feelings (because she is a human assistant), he comes to care deeply for her.
in the episode where he is playing cards with the old lady and Chiyuki, the old lady recognizes one of the cards with Chavvo's picture (Chavvo is a fictional character from a book Chiyuki and Nona like) the old lady tells them that despite being a children's book, there is a deep meaning behind it. She says that the author made Chavvo deaf so that her lover, Jimmy, could not be able to express his feelings, but even so, she explained that there were more ways to confess your love. With a smile.
Knowing this, and with more experience, Decim was able to develop human emotions (therefore making him a unique arbiter) and proved it to Chiyuki (I'll explain in the next sentence). When her judgement was over, she tells him to smile more while she is gone and after Decim fails, he remembers all the time he passed with her and smiles fondly and sincerely. This doesn't just prove that he has human emotions, but since he also remembers that the old lady said a smile was a way to tell someone you're in love or have strong feelings, he smiled to confess to Chiyuki.
I'm not exactly sure if Chiyuki understood that, but her tear-filled eyes and her grin made it seem like she did so.
Decim also has respect for people that lives fulfilled lives. Which is why he recreated Chiyuki in the form of a dummy to have by his side while her soul was sent for reincarnation.
This was just a theory that I had and wanted to put out there, I apologize if it sounds wrong to some but this has pondered my mind since the second time I watched the full series (and onto the 9th time I go!)
Thanks for reading all the way here, if you did.
Wow I love this observation!!! I think you are spot on. I don’t know if what he felt for her was any sort of romantic love but he definitely loved her in that he cared deeply for her. But with human emotions being so foreign, he didn’t know how to put it into words.
The old lady says “we have lots of other ways besides words to express our feelings”. His smile was so genuine at the end, and Chiyuki got the message, that was his way of expressing his feelings towards her. Happiness.
Omg why didn't I realize that! Thank youu
@@brandonbroadhurst2229 I don't think it was a romantic sort of love as well
chiyuki went to life not void right
i was not really satisfied at the ending because i want chihayu to stay with decim . =(
oh well animation is really good since madhouse animate death parade
*Chiyuki and we all knew she couldn't even if we wanted her to. I wonder if that button really did anything though.
+Atomic Robo Tesla That scene was so that Decim could judge Chiyuki based on her actions I believe but I'm not certain.
Champion171299 [Thanks For 200 Subs] :D I was thinking that maybe if it wouldn't bring her back to life it might've decided where her soul would go.
+Atomic Robo Tesla Yeah. I thought if she pressed it her would go the the void and if she didn't press it (which she didn't) her soul would be reincarnated which is what happened.
+Champion171299 [Thanks For 200 Subs] :D her soul*
I do not cry. Especially I do not cry in consequence of some touching scene in anime. But I remember that one moment when I cried like a baby. It was right after watching Death Parade. And nah those weren't tears of sadness. I was just so happy that I've watched that show. It amazing it's gorgeous. I highly reccomand this anime to everyone who loves ambitious lore and characters. If you top 1 ever is naruto you (most likely) won't enjoy Death Parade but if you find pleasure in Durarara/Monogatari you'll love it.
God, episode 12 hade me crying like a bitch.
Oh dang... never thought THE Karma Akabane would cry over something like this. Ha, i'm sure Nagisa's laughing at ya know if he ever knows about this lol.
Hey Aki, maybe you don´t know this, it´s like a general anime easter egg. If you listen closely to any opening or ending of an anime, you will notice that there is always the word "SEKAI" (world) at least once in the OP or ED, and sometimes is in other languages besides Japanese.
Seriously, I don´t know if I am the only one who realize it, and I´ve watched over 200 anime xD
***** I know, but lyrics can´t lie xD
It's probably a word with multiple meanings (like the word Buffalo in English, it has eight. Hell, you can even make a full and grammatically correct sentence with it.).
Atomic Robo Tesla That´s what I thougth
Steven Solís Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo!
+Steven Solís The first anime opening I thought of ('Hohoemi no Bakudan' from _Yu Yu Hakusho_) doesn't have the word sekai in it. Neither does the second one I thought of ('Cha-La Head Cha-La' from _Dragon Ball Z_) nor the third ('For Fruits Basket' from _Fruits Basket_). Sekai is indeed a common word with a romantic sound and powerful meaning so it does end up in a lot of Japanese songs, but not any/every anime opening ever. Not even in the first three that popped into my head.
Another Easter egg (many of you may had already noticed) : In the LAST episode, the ending has changed at where the heroine is holding 2 dolls in the end, her hands and arms are now in a doll-form with ball joints and such :)
wow this video was great u earned ur self a sub i actually met aya suzuki who animated death billards and i asked her alot about it she animated the climax fight scene. she told me that the whole anime was a government funded anime the other side of death parade is that it was made by senior animators and use to train new animators comming out of college ^^ i had a big chat with her but that was just a interesting fact some of you would of wanted to know
I JUST FINISHED THIS LIKE YESTERDAY AND DIED AND SEE THIS VIDEO AND IT MAKES ME JOYFUL THANK U AKIIIII
Definitely high on my favorite anime list. I love this anime!
The opening: 🕺💃🍾🍾👯😎🥳✨
The anime: 💀😭😪😈😱👿⚰️
I KNEW that guy was Light! When I saw him, I was just like: "LIIIIGHT?????! But HOW? Oh yeah..... Death Parade and Death Note were made by the same studio. It's totally possible...."
really aki!!! the end haha wow!!! +akiderest
although im happy you pointed at the lyrics in the OP i saw the same thing on my own as well!
The only reason I actually watched Death Parade was because I heard a LOT about the misleading opening
Wow I admire your hard work you've put into finding out deeper into the anime~
I FUCKING knew that that guy was in fact Light Yagami HAHAHA
He's going to void for what he's done alright
Stekino Mai nah hes inpossible to jusge hes a holder of a death note he killed people qith sins and innocent people so he turned into a shinigami
I agree. This anime was great. I really like your theories and research :) You now have a new subscriber.
possibly my fave anime theme song
Very nice breakdown of this anime. :) I did not know a lot of these references, so it was nice to see this. :) Also, props on the ending of this video. Help Decim! He's feeling! :P Such a classic series. :) Always will enjoy it. :) Great job. :) Keep up the good work. :) God bless you! :)
Nice video.
I always thought that Chiyuki was a representation of the true death in comparison to Castra being only the controlled form of death, so Oculus would feel in control.
> Like Chiyuki was sent by their real God, to rattle the bunch up a little.
I like that they used the opening song as the ending song for the last episode. It helped you take in all the hints that they set up in the beginning. I also liked that in the ending scene of the opening, instead of Chiyuki holding the two Chavvot dolls, it was the dummy of her that Decim had made instead (you can even see him taking them, tucked in his apron pockets, after her final judgement).
That's it! In *my* headcanon, Death Note and Death Parade are officially connected!
I actually didn't notice that I recognize that that man looks like Light Yagami but I thought it was just a coincidence but when I watched this vid I just blew my mind
excellent insight! you drew some interesting comparisons I never even thought of :) i recently just started and finished Death Parade, and this has to be the most interesting anime I've seen in a while. thanks for the awesome video!
THAT ENDING WAS NOT OKAY IM CRYING ON MY FLOOR OF LAUGHTER WHYYYYYY NOW I HATE MYSELF
I already knew few of them but the one with the circle really impressed me. Thank for this, I'll never be tired to learn more about my favorite anime.
OMG thank you for that ending !
I think this is the greatest short animes I've seen so far.
The ending was perfect because it never ends and that's why I like that there is only one season. Really touching, emotion rollercoaster and definitely teach something about life! Really good video and now I know that Yagami was in that episode :---D
i love this anime....
like, it covers all genres possible from horror to romance to idols?? lol i just love it....
ep 3 is my fav, the story of shigeru & chisato(mai) really got me, like if it was a stand alone OVA/movie i'd say its the best romance anime of the year, i cried....
man i love the theme song so much! u know tht one song that you get shivers goosebumps and ur heart just explores
I knew this anime was deep. Thanks :).
omg. akidearest i have never loved an anime channel more than yours.❤❤❤ so glad i found it😂😂😂
give me more plz lol. uhhhhhh u could do Deadman Wonderland plz oh and psycho pass PLZZZZZZZZZ
aki you are awesome! finding all this stuff i would have no chance!!! so all i can say is good job and thanks for the hard work!!
when I saw Light in that episode and I almost fell off my sofa xD
Death Parade is one of my favorites, i really like how the games inolved pain and stuff, (because alot of animes aren't like that?) The ending left me sobbing
Try dissecting Another, Higurashi, or maybe something lighter and silly like Acchi Kocchi. XD
+Softfang would like that too. It is pretty confusing. But the second season brought a bit of light onto it
Two words to describe this series: _Absolute Masterpiece_.
I just thought of this and it's pretty dumb but... What if the arbiters are babies that were aborted or died at birth, because those babies never got to live and didn't have a name. Just an idea.
I believe that they may well relate back to death note. As any who use the death note are stated as being unable to go to neither heaven nor hell. (Reincarnation, and the void) Which could well imply that they instead become arbiters, and judge the dead for all eternity. (A sweet and fitting afterlife for the users of the note IMO)
The arbiters are made by the soul sent to the void
Another thing that'd fit here: there's a blink-and-miss-it shot during the intro, in the scene where they're swinging on Decim's wires. Clavis falls off right before the scene changes.
I KNEW IT WAS YAGAMI
Wow, that was awesome! hope you make more videos like this.
I really liked it :D
That video gave such a deep insight to the anime. Thank you very much, very informative and entertaining at the same time! :33
There are also mentions of "The Spider's Thread" by Akutagawa Ryuunosuke in the series when Decim tells a story about a criminal who was trying to escape from hell by climbing a spider's thread. The author used to write usually about depravity and moral dilemmas and this story was pretty much just like a Decim's judgement - a person was given the opportunity to show his best or worst side which would lead either back to hell or to coming back to life, like a reincarnation. I really love how they used it and that Decim's ability to control thread's is one big reference
Great video ! This is one of my favorite anime, I really hope there will be a second season ^_^
YOU ARE AMAZING FOR THIS. I wish I heard of you sooner. I'm about to watch this anime now because of you.
love this series of videos you are doing cant wait for the next :)
you hit us with the final ep. yup i totally wanted to cry today.
Great video. Someone did an awesome full length video explaining the connection between Death Note and Death Parade.
I watched this show a while ago subbed I think that just gave it that natural elegance. The end was almost a pain I had never experienced before I was so shook for the longest.
this anime for me can be summed up in one word. incredible. also beautiful. i dont know. it made me so much sadder than proclaimed 'sad' animes like your lie in april and clannad. something about the bittersweet ending just broke me.
I go to acting training class and on the last class for the year we read a play that was pretty similar to Death Parade. It's name is something like A Hotel between two worlds but I haven't read it to the end.
Aki just reminded me why I loved watching death parade.
I miss this series
Pretty awesome review! Great job!
Fact: in the Death Parade Opening/Intro, Nona is seen dancing in a red dress but in the episodes she's never seen wearing it (but she might possibly if there's gonna be a season 2)
Doesn't make sense what would happen in season 2 ?
+John Titor I don't know because season 2 hasn't been confirmed yet
and lotus? have you seen that dress on the anime? xD
so? Oculus was never seen wearing a barmen's outfit either. That opening was mostly to be really over-the-top, and I confess I would've loved to see two souls being judged in a dance dance revolution xD
I didn't know this was an Aki video so my heart literally STOPPED when I heard "hey friends"
The voice actor who plays Decim is actually very popular in Japan (one of my favorite voice actors) known as Maeno Tomoaki.
That intro music - *Sticks hand in air in the pitch darkness like in the intro and mimes the ooooohyeaaah bit followed by bobbing to music* ... Hey, you were all doing it mentally at the very least.
this is my favorite series of all time.
because I can't find any plotholes, and the animation is amazing and the amount of foreshadowing is only known after watching it the 2nd time.
After finishing up the anime, it kinda reminded me of one of the the concepts from the Sandman comics:
A concept given physical form discovers a form of humanity in itself that surprises it.
Now I have an urge to make Death Parade/Sandman crossover fanart!
To Aki :)
An extra Easter Egg (i think but it may just be my own interpretation) was in the OST; it was called 'Memento Mori' (Latin) it means, "Remember you will die." (lol that sounds terrible) but the sentiment behind it is "Remember that everybody will die, so now is the time to live." It played when Harada and the fangirl were subjected to the void. (lol madhouse is running over our feelings with a dump truck)
