As a child, I remember reading a book about animals at the library, it said white tigers were endangered. I thought they were so pretty and was sad they were endangered. I never gave it a second thought, because it came from a grown up book at the library, so it must be right. Thank you for educating!!

My mom and I went to the mall and there was a stand that you could hold lion cubs. Since I love big cats, my mom asked if I wanted to hold one. I said " no. I refuse to support and give money to such horrible human beings. These people are a disgrace to our race. " im only 12 but I hope I helped in some way. When I grow up I want to volunteer at Big Cat Rescue!

Every time I pass or see one of the Pet a Cub or Take A Picture with A Cub I scream and yell at them and tell them how wrong it is

So a week and a half later we went to the zoo and I got to see a tiger, But now that I watch these videos I still feel guilty for when I tried to get in to see the tiger cubs_*

Save them and give them a good life, and if possible, use them in conjection with orange tigers to help restore population. Not all white tigers are inbred with massive health issues.

Why don't we have a law that bans any white tiger from being in a zoo or on display in America?
Politicians do not really understand the issues of big cats in this country.
So what, you'd have every white tiger, even those born without intent of having a white tiger cub, just killed?
How is that better? At least in a sanctuary like this, or a normal zoo (not roadside, actual large, funded zoos) they can live a decent life.

@@daefaron You obviously didn't watch the video. If people didn't want to make a profit of them, no white tigers would be born in captivity period. They are intentionally bred in captivity and even if we ignore the inherent health issues they have that compromises the quality of their lifestyle, most of them live in shitty conditions anyway.

In the beginning of this video, the beautiful white tiger was doing the cat walk. I love every one of those cats you guys have at that sanctuary. YAY.
It's bad enough we humans are cruel to each other but to do it to innocent animals really makes my stomach churn!! I'm so glad places like big cat rescue exist to give these amazing creatures some quality of life.

Thank God they banned breeding them but I imagine it's hard to stop it anyway. The cub petting has to stop too. Once that source of money dries up there will less demand and less breeding. By now there should be enough evidence of the abuse and destruction caused by it.
After all the problems they cause it seems roadside zoos should be high on list for banning. As I'm typing this comment, on the recommended list next to your video is something about a white lion and white tiger having babies and how cute they are. It's so frustrating when all people can see is cute and never think or know about the suffering breeding exotic color cats causes. Or the many that are "discarded" due to defects. Thanks BCR for doing what you can to educate the public.
The breeding of these big cats will never stop. Likely, humans will breed them into domestication. I know this sounds awful but line breeding (close breeding of family members in animals) has created all domestic animals we see today (dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, guinea pigs etc)
Also, trainers breed these cats on purpose because they are blind and rely on humans more than other large cats. They are easier to train and less likely to attack. It is very very sad but I do believe that what we are witnessing is human beings actively domesticating a large and very dangerous animal.
They say that most are imperfect but I see them all as perfect in my heart

You guys are the BEST! You taught me the truth about white tigers a long time ago and I tell my family and friends about the inbreeding when the subject of white tigers being rare comes up. Thanks for rescuing Zabu and Kenny, keep doing what you guys do!

I remember that for the longest time there was a white tiger at the San Diego Zoo. My heart always went out to her as I don't think that she was very well liked by the other tigers and, (if memory serves), had to be kept away from the other tigers. To my knowledge she was never bred and was well taken care of by the staff.
Poor animals-as if not being born as a wildly beautiful breed wasn't dangerous enough.

I wrote a fantasy book about an advance culture of big cats. Tigers don't let white tigers reproduce if they're born in their comunity as they recognize the health problems and also think they lack spirit, as for them, their spirit is seen in the inner fire that give their furs the bright orange color.
1 possible way to increase white tigers and other endangered animals in the world is to protect them by tricking animal hunters

I believe all your facts, it is just hard to take in because as a Marvel fan, there is a super heroine named White Tiger. I always though she was, like many superheroes we know, has animal based powers and based off an animal in the wild.

I remember being a little kid and seeing a white tiger at a zoo or something. At the time I was impressed and thought they were a rare color of tigers in the wild worth saving. Now I know that isn't the case, just some people manipulating poor tigers to be white along with the chance of having defects :(. Thanks for explaining

I saw this firsthand recently. Notably the cubs being taken too soon and being handled by random people. This was at a large, well-funded zoo that had multiple other good enclosures with healthy animals. The information posted about them was fictitious, and the cubs being handled was especially hard to watch. Most people have no idea about the cruelty that goes into creating these tigers, and often believe the false information presented about them.
I firmly believe that education is an important part of stopping these practices, as if people knew about what was really going on, they would no doubt protest.

People are so obsessed with beauty and perfection, not only they abuse their own and go to extreme lengths to achieve them, but they also abuse other animals' beauty and perfection, same thing happens to some dogs.
Sure it would be a bit sad if the White Tigers were gone forever, but right now, where we're at, living is not worth it for them, it's suffering, it's abuse. Tigers, by all means, are already perfect.
It's a sad reality. A prohibited beauty.

It is all a form of inbreeding no matter how you do it. White tigers are a result of one male inbred with his offspring.

A white Bengal (or Sumatran) Tiger would definitely be at a disadvantage. I wonder though, do Siberian Tigers ever have white forms? A white coat there at least would be more of an advantage than a disadvantage, but I suspect all whites are Bengal Tigers not Siberians.
