Fav_aimbots videos taught me this just from watching so many of them. 100% such a critical technique for gunfights, it’s unbelievable how many more I started winning after incorporating it.
great yet another move us controller users can’t do.
@@Obi907 seethe
Fav_aimbot, ras, crylix abuse this asf, just watching their montages made me improve so much, they deserve more recognition
Same I always see aimbot use it. He especially loves to add the slide into it for that extra burst of speed when he lands
who
As someone who watches Asian players and plays in Asian servers (Being in Australia the Tokyo/Singapore are the closest, since Aus servers are dead), the one edge I had over most players in US servers was knowing this. Now everyone is gonna do it and I won't have that one extra trick up my sleeve when I play with my overseas friends😭😭😭
Same ngl it was nice being the rare person outside of Asia to do this
tbh most of EU/NA algs pro got on this already tho, like sweet et
regions might get locked sometime in the future so playing another zone might be harder :(
@@yecafps if that were the case then Ras shouldn't be taking 60% less damage.
@@randomboiyo6254 nah they just get on the movement recently, they just did like bubble 1v1 in the range like 2-3 days ago, u can check hal's vod
Yeah this has been around for eternity and i seriously thought this was just a basic movement tech everyone knew.
same
Same
Fr been doing this for a while now
this
Is this just not typical movement in apex at this point? If you panic when you jump in a fight chances are you've been doing this.
I've always mixed in crouching with my sidestepping/strafing. It helps, but if the enemy is aiming at your body, crouching can lower your head into the enemy's crosshair. This is a great alternative. Gonna try that once the servers are playable again
FINALLY, I have seen so many players do this and I never knew how. Tysm for making a video on it.
Been waiting patiently for a clearer guide on Ras's strafe technique, thank you mokey.
This is why im always interested in Ras's movement compared to other movement player like lyric, stormen or faide. he takes head on 1v3s with almost no repercussion
Same with Selly. Their movement doesn't look as flashy at first glance like Faide's or Stormen's but it's actually insane and more useful in higher level fights. I've seen Selly run a bit ahead of his team(in a ranked match, he's diamond) and 1v3 an enemy team in a bubble fight and killed them all so quick that his teammates didn't even get to catch up and shoot one bullet lol
@@Mutterschwein that’s crazy
i’ve never watched ras how does he compare to aceu
@@swagiro824 don't really think you can compare a content creator and a professional player
@@swagiro824 aceu entertains you through his creative plays & Ras entertains you through his inhumane consistency
as someone who played tf2 for a very long time, I've always incorporated surfing and whatnot into my gameplay
I think movement tech like this is so neat, I just wish it was more replicable on console.
True it’s so sad that we can’t do certain movement techs cause that looks fun af
Yup, doesn't make sense to put pc and console in the same matches if pc can do this and console can't. That is an unfair advantage, one i would say is way stronger than aim assist. If you ask me its a great counter to aim assist but yet doesn't have a counter of its own for console
@@samtabe4104 you do realize PC players and console players don't play together? A console player can go into PC lobbies if you have a PC players in your preset group. Though the only thing close to PC in console lobbies is someone using a keyboard.
@@tokkirae6157 yes I know, its for those who suggest for them to play together like you've mentioned, no point in allowing console players to join with their pc buddies if they're gonna be at a disadvantage once they're up against pc players who can strafe on a loot box and so much more
@@samtabe4104 There is a point, their is a casual community rather than just a competitive one only.
Thank you so much! I was just looking for a good guide on Ras movement, but couldn't nail it down without a good tutorial!
months back Sweet was talkin about this im glad you brought it up too
I do something similar to this all the time while i'm on a roof: start sprint at the edge then jump off it and pull back / air strafe back on to the roof, land crouched and you get a big boost of speed and slide in the direction you were moving when you landed (usually backwards).
This doesn't give the mid-air momentum shift from the technique you showed here, the momentum comes from the slide on landing, but the method is very similar. However my version does work on controller as I've been doing it for seasons (and play only on PS4), but I've really only been doing it while bored waiting to catch a rotating team or whatever, always felt it was kinda useless, just a way to keep your hands busy between high APM fights in ranked.
I'll now be trying this in close range moments and bubble fights and report back.
If you can’t tap strafe in the air on console, how does it work on controller?
that sounds just like a regular tap strafe bro, but props for doing it on controller
@@hiphop2u steambinds, look up a tutorial tap strafe steambinds
Its not possible on controller, they just mentioned it
@@samtabe4104 its not possible on default controller but with steambinds it is, they obviously didnt take that into account
Watching Ras doing this Tech from over a year, always thought this is just some kind of Tapstrafe pro Technique.
After searching about it too much, learned it couple of weeks ago by some Random Japanese yt channel.
Nice Video btw!
At first I thought it was just some panic jump😂
Ive been doing this for as long as I can remember never thought much of it, pretty basic movement that most people know or at least I thought
@@Firius_ I think for most decent players this movement is probably natural, but I still think recognizing how strong it is and when it’s most useful/ applicable is what this video is showcasing
As someone who plays in asian servers, i thought this was common knowledge on most fps games where you have air movement control
Thought the same. Particularly on Tokyo servers where everyone is a movement crackhead and just supergliding left and right.
@@Jojo_Tolentino i know right, asian players are built differently, don't even mention Singapore servers since i just found out that Singapore is the sweatiest server in Asia
@@CelaLare Singapore is probably the sweatiest of them all.
Such an easy tutorial to follow thanks. After spamming it for a few days now I found it really good for jiggle peeking (you can basically peek for such a short time people have no time to react) and barrel stuffing - when you’re in someone’s face
this tech has helped me win so many fights or helped me dodge bullets much easier. watching selly and vorez do it every other fight seared it into my brain and now it saves me so much in fights and in the firing range 1v1's
It's sad none of these movement techniques are on controller I really want to try them but I also understand why this is the case
Edit: Guys I didn't mean to start a console war y'all need to calm tf down
You can with pc controller tap strafing
i tried it on controller and i somehow got it working, you dont last as long in the air tho
@@Zronzify i think they mean console
Its have a pc but it can’t really run apex
@Shreyas Diy and Computers lurch is not slowing down in the air, its the preservation of momentum that is on every console but only pc players are able to manipulate it that way because of the keys
damn it mokey spilling the secrets to the normies
Its great to see this getting more attention since its such a crucial tech and learning just by studying gameplay takes a lot of time
This is bad dud, since controllers can't do it they're gonna conplain again and theres going to be a community outcry about this
@@energy_sword4560 let them, they are already so toxic.
Time to Burn'em down even more!
I use this so many times but I didn't realize it's something that special. Jumping out of gibby's dome, peeking corner, throwing nades, you name it.. I use it mostly to peek corners, just like counter-strafing in CS or Valorant, but in apex.
I never thought jump peek is a special thing in apex lol
I find it interesting how some tech is common knowledge for some players, and not at all for others
That's a common movement used in tactical shooters like CS or Valorant to jump peek corners. Nice to see this in Apex as well.
I think you missunderstood, in csgo you jump and go curve but cant go back to your start point. But this one have more airtime than csgo it go zig zag and back to the starting point
Movement-wise yes, input-wise.. a whole different story
@@chunhuang8820 the input is the same too actually, well at least that's how I do it
I love how I watch all of these movement tech vids even tho I’m on console, it’s just too cool
AYY finally a movement tech that I knew about before mokey vid!!!!
Do Russian movement: spamming slide button while running, just like dancing
Not Russian, its CS 1.6 movement :D
I'm surprised it's not common knowledge in regards to a natural pipeline from learning tap strafing and momentum shifting/air strafing to begin with. Even when you just press buttons in the air you can see your character roll through the directions. The most basic way to implement tap strafing and movement into combat is to just begin every fight with a W+A slide jump into a right tap strafe. Whenever I play in low lobbies my favourite thing to do is hold W+A into a jump, then a shift + snappy tap strafe to the right, into a slide and a classic tap strafe to the left again. Confuses noobs like crazy. Then again most of my childhood was spent on GunZ which is the godfather of movement mechanics and combat apm so shrug. It's pretty similar to HS and RHS in that.
Yea i don't know how people didnt figure this out. As soon as you screw around with momentumshift youll notice it immediately
Been using this for months, never knew it was an actual thing, really fun to do
Cedric potato made a vid about this, and the comments on that video give much insight about the tech and how it can be much more utilized
You can also hold down S and then D and then spam W(on mousewheel) to go right mid-air, or left if you hold down S and then A and repeat
I’ve been doing this by accident for the past 3 seasons but since we never run gibby or run into a gibby, I never knew how to incorporate this. Time to go ape my ranked games
I didn’t even know this existed. Yeah how is this not more popular, that’s simple yet SUPER effective.
I think I’ve unintentionally been doing something like this for a while now without realizing it
Ras does this all the time, glad I found a guide now
Yeah I'm about ready to drop this sweaty ass game.
Lmao every single mokeysniper video: you cannot do this one controller
HEY, if you analyzed individual pros and brought us how they do each technique they would be amazing! Great video as per usual!
damn I thought this was common knowledge. Missed out on making a cool video like you moke
I have been experienting with this movement technique with wall jumping. Boy does it get nifty.
I do this unconsciously, glad to see it discovered and shared with the world.
This Is very interesting, would be Cool a video were you go more Deep into this technique
Ive been doing this since the first week i started playing, I didnt know it was considered a movement tech lmao
i didnt realize that other servers werent doing it until you actually made the video, lmao
So now I just need to know how to launch myself up and backwards when someone is in my bubble with me and I can get myself away from the fight
This game becomes more and more sweaty every second holy shit
I saw Timmy do this in the firing range while warming up once and i thought it was a tap strafe. While its not a tap strafe, you CAN implement a tap strafe into it to make it even wider and faster. At least thats what it feels like. I like sliding towards my target, then doing this with a tap strafe to reset my position.
I do this accidentally sometimes since I follow the APAC N scene a lot. didn't realize it was not a known move tech.
I remember when everyone used this before tap strafing was found
I play only in asian server and didn't even this tech was a secret until now. Almost everyone in asian servers do this. It's interesting to see differences in tactics and meta in between major regions
ive done this in like all the fps games that allow this, mainly back in the overwatch days. its super op on ashe in overwatch cus you can jump peak headshot when you have a mercy pocket
The easiest way to practice this is with deathbox looting, then corner peaking (while healing or to take some shots), then doorplay / bubblefights
Already use this like I learnt by my self and was like sick gonna use this for now on lmao
The very first movement tech that I actually use during fights, I am so happy 🤣
I kinda picked up on this while practicing redirecting my movement after watching aceus movement guide. Firing range is such a godsend. Just keep mashing buttons in the firing range people and bind W and Jump to mousewheel up and down.
cool to see this being shown, but I think I've been doing that on controller since I picked up apex a few months ago..definitely helps in engagements if you do it correctly!
Nothing scarier than a bubbled
Gibby with this type of movement with a mastiff or pk
I'm getting PTSD from remember my GunZ the Duel days where everyone would do a similar movement.
I do this soo much I thought it was normal but not this pattern exactly
I’ve been trying to figure this one out for ages
This is some great knowledge for my controller
I honestly only got this done to me once and that’s cause they kept dying but once they started this I wasn’t use to and they won back to back in arenas, might have to start using this
I've used this in normal traversal but never thought to use it in a gun fight
Actually did this a lot when I first started mnk like 2-3 months ago
"Can I do this on -"
"You can't do this on controller "
Similar to tap strafe aiming where you can do a z strafe mid air.
This is something I know I’ve done and can do bud I never implement it. Thank you for teaching me how
Its incredibly wierd get use to implementing into fights properly and aiming properly
Lmao I remember first seeing noko tap strafeing on Hal’s head in the fireing range a few months back and I tried to figure it out myself only to accidentally discover this. 😅
I've been doing this to peek corners for like, ever but I never realized there was a name for it!
I always do this in firing range for warming up
"this does not work on controller" the only thing i needed to hear
my man is strafing for the first time LMAO
I was doing this before I learned proper tap strafe.
I remember somebody posting about this on controller a thew weeks ago on the Apex rollouts reddit
Now you have to throw this in with a super glide :)
everyone is pro until You see a flying gibby .
-Tzu zung
I’ve been doing this to reload for seasons now, it works.
Always knew of this but never put it into practice
Mok3y: This does not work on controller
Me: *Clicks off video*
Some things I wish weren't released to the public by big influencers, I liked having a secret trick.
What if you take fights in doors like that like you don’t even stand in the door fully
Oh wtf, I do this while waiting for the countdown in Arenas but never thought it was useful
I always did this, just thought it was a regular momentum shift and didn’t think it was anything special
Bind move forward to mouse wheel just like tap strafing.just jump, pick a side where you want to slide (w,a,s,d) and simply scroll mouse wheel.there you go some easy strafin while fighting close up
I'm pretty sure that this, or something VERY similar, was in Aceu's movement guide from almost two years ago.
Yes I've been doing this for the last few months it's very hand indeed
i thought ppl already knew about this tech, yeah ras and selly also random apex JP videos helps me knew this trick
Oh, I've figured this out on my own and didn't know that this wasn't common knowledge lol. I thought it was just a regular momentum shift
4 people on controller I know you can't do this but one thing I like to do mid-fight especially when we are up close to each other is jump up and hold back and slide they are not expecting that mid-fight they are expecting that you'll jump up and down or move left and right but when you kind of jump up and slide backwards to the left or right a little(diagonally) it throws them off alot times
The Goldsrc and Source engine junkie that is me has known this ever since the game is out. But I've never used it during gunfights. 67% less damage? Holy shit, it is a lot. I will be using this more often from now on.
Actually I just realised that I can do most of the movement techniques (tap strafing, wall jumping etc) but I never utilize them during combat. It's probably why I keep dying despite having good aim.
It does actually work on controller to a certain extent I actually use it a lot in fights you jump up move sideways in the air then crouch you’ll slide in the process.
I been doing this for a few seasons now, I thought lots of people had been doing it but apparently not
I play gibby sometimes and when I do I do this or some close variation of it every time and that’s why I am so good at bubble fights
Ras taught ppl this in a video like around a year ago about how he moves. Most MnK JP/KR streamers have been doing this for seasons.
this video was made on my birthday
Oh, I used to do that in different games
Japanese & korean player: ah its just daily movement thingy
For some reason, i do this all the time even tho i just knew it's an movement tech for the game.
i play controller and have been dong this since season 4, its not as smooth as keys but you can for sure do it on controller
Aceu movement guide showcases this for like moving around a corner
Holy crap I've been watching Selly and Ras doing this for the longest time and not even questioning it. Huh! This is so cool!
