- Today's tale is one that I didn't think I'd have to make, because I assumed the new ranked system for Season 13 would have me flying into Platinum. Newcastle has landed but I got stuck in Bronze and it was actually my own fault.
Solo queue is definitely harder than ever, and being on Storm Point is going to mean choosing those landing spots more carefully! Early fights have little reward and high risk, so communication or lack of it would make being on your own all that much harder. I like Newcastle's ultimate but I really need to spend some time figuring out this hero, but we've got plenty of time to do that now!
Love how apex is the only game I can get 10+ kills and carry my team and the very next game do 0 damage and get eliminated off drop
Nah fr one game I hit every shot and get 3798 dmg then the next game get shit on nore than a backyard of a dog owner
One game you are against average people, the next you are against sweats that do lines of cocaine before they play.

At first glance to the new ranked system yeah but that would be so bloody slow - there’s no cap on rp so that’s huge plus 50% of teammates kp! C’mon now
Even when you rat, if you have no kills you’ll still be at 0 rp at best, at least you won’t lose any. It’s gotta be a mix of both this time around, get kill cap and play slow the rest of the game to really rank up. The entry fee is so high off the bat tho and demotion is terrifying. Seeing daltoosh get -405 in ranked demotion.. like that dude is cracked af how am I supposed to do it hahaha

People who don't realize how the system works this season keep saying that it makes ratting better. They don't realize that this season really pushes for getting kills more than last season. Unfortunately, you have to actually Win the match for those kills to mean anything. Ranked is no longer a glorified Deathmatch, where placement is a suggestion of winning. Apex ranked has finally become a ranked BR again.
You'll get bored of ranked if you're actively ratting.
I am so fortunate to have a friend to play with this season. I can't imagine trying to get out of bronze without a pre-made squad.

Lmao I made it to gold without a pre-made squad quite easily. Now it's becoming a challenge though. Gold is sweaty no longer a cake walk.

Found that getting more comfortable communicating with my randoms has been super helpful, took a day to get out of Bronze.
As always, VERY entertaining, and outstanding gameplay. I haven't even tried out the new Legend yet, as he is still everyone's first choice. HA! Not having played much ranked BR the previous two seasons, I started in Rookie III, which looking at your matches, is exactly where I belong. Take care.

Play with a couple friends and you can get at least gold by split. Just give it time for plat to get out of bronze and silver and you should be good lol
Also try out solo duos for a bit and see if you can’t get back in old habits maybe

bronze has never been so hard in my life, I get a 4 kill game place around 12th and it get +20 like what is that. Its impossible to get decent points per match without a premade team and I normally play solo 💀
Nah, I already solo queued to gold 1, almost plat. It has been rough at the beginning, but I feel like I've been getting better teammates this season. The kills are important, but remember that the longer you survive, the more points from the kills you get. Aim for top5 place with 3-6 kills :)
Oh boy wait until you get to silver 💀 I'm in silver 1 right now and if I get 4 kills and a 12th place that's minus 29 😂😭

This ranked season is going to be very frustrating. I'm bronze three and I keep getting punished for having bad random teammates who are just not even paying attention

Yes, but before you could get out of the lower ranks very fast with raw individual skill regardless of your team, now its a bit harder to do so, making it harder for solo rankers to reach a rank where people have an actual, functioning brain.
Bronze feels so weird. I either die at the start or end up top 3 with plenty of KP. No in-between. At times it can be easy but end game feels like diamond with 4-5 squads final ring. I had a game where ring 5 had 8 teams and 13 people. That's not even 2 a team. I would recommend finding atleast one teammate. I don't solo queue as I find no fun; I duo queue so I still get a random I have to coop with.

This new ranked system is so annoying 😭😭 there's some cool concepts like how Kill rp increases with placement, as well as how each subrank (silver 4,3,2,1) have different rp penalties, but the fact that you could go crazy with kills and assists early game and get little to nothing for it is not good. I also feel like the rookie rank is unnecessary, as well as the fact that silver 1 is now the same as a Platinum match from previous seasons. While there are some "oh that's interesting" there's also "I don't like this at all 😭"

The changes happened, because it was easier and easier to climb the ranks with each season. Plat had like 16 % of people last season, on the first place. You would guess the next was gold, right? No, it was diamond. A shocking 13.7% of the people scored diamond last season, where at the beginning it was like 3%. Ranks lost its meanings.
I love the new changes in ranked.
Also, it's not hard to understand that the previous masters/preds got demoted to silver/gold, and that's why it's so hard at the moment. Just give it a rest for few days, so they can climb back to their real ranks.
Stop going for early kills like the previous ranked system you will get negative rp.

There is no distinction between pubs and rank right now. I am getting matched against diamond/masters all the time, never made out of plat IV myself. GG

there was no difference between pubs and ranked before season 13.
pre season 13 people would hot drop, get a few kills, probably get wiped shortly after by an squad who didn't pick every fight they could but still rank up.

but for ranked you gotta actually be careful ... yes, don't hot drop, don't pick fights you can't win, be careful of 3rd parties.
ranked in every game is suppose to give you that high end competitive experience, which pre season 13 was sorely lacking, you barely play differently in pubs than ranked before this season.

A friend new to the game played his first ranked game and died to a valk with a masters badge.... in a "rookie" lobby. He uninstalled.

i'm playing with friends and we can't even get past bronze 3, we're all former plats. we look behind us and there are masters trails sprinkled everywhere. we dont even have a chance to shoot, let alone survive a battle with these sweats. i truly hope it dies down, cuz i cant even play rank normally right now.

Rag tag you can change the direction of Newcastle ultimate mid leap meaning you can turn mid air and it will still deploy

Can anyone explain to me why there are masters in bronze? I finished Diamond and was placed in silver II.
Probably didn't play ranked last season
Because splits. If they reached the master in the first split, they got demoted to plat for the second split. If they didn't play in the second split (and a lot of people didn't because of Kings Canyon) - they got demoted to bronze.
Iv played a few games with marik (second game, valk) and he's probz one of the most nicest, funniest streamers that's so underappreciated, I heavily recommend him 😎😍

The fact that the preds are in bronze right now is why I’m taking a week off. I do like the fact that if you ult with Newcastle on to a Valk ult and hook up you go 1st person. Everything get so real

I feel one thing people are getting confused with rank system is how the rp works yes early kills are not worth much to begin with but when you’re placed higher those early kills also become worth more not just the later on kills

@@lunablossom5241 Yes, you can see this happen from 18:52 onwards, he is bronze 1 with entry cost of 24 rp and has 3 kills with 16 squads remaining so the kp is worth 1 point each and 0 points for placement. Then he runs around while other squads die and at 19:13 with no change other than placement he now has 20 placement points for top 8 and the 3 kills are now worth 12 points each.
Exactly. They can still get early kills. I think people want constant excitement. But ranked, in my opinion, should be played more strategically while also utilizing the strength of each individual legend. Gone are the days where players mix their abilities. I rarely see this anymore. No more wraith portals with wattson fences or caustic gas traps on the other side. No more bang smoke and bloodhound scans. No horizon ult and fuse tact or caustic ult. It just seems kind of brainless nowadays if I'm being honest

now with this you don't want to do that, you want to play with an tactic in mind, sure 3rd party is still an extremely strong choice, but so often me and my team literally go from PoI to PoI, listening to where the gunfire is at, then check the situation from a distance and then move in when we can sweep up. (or when we get engaged from multiple angles or fighting a losing battle we bail the fight by either a wrath portal, valk ult or octane jump pad)

I only have one squad that barley plays together. We usually go duo or not at all but when we get together we're unstoppable on this map.

Played 2 sessions of ranked so far in the new season. First sesh was bad, second sesh I decided to command and offer my suggestions on position and fights. I am about out of Bronze now. Felt a noticeable difference from Bronze 3 to Bronze 2 on peoples willingness to either follow what I told them or suggest ideas themselves; It was a massive shift, which lead to greater success. Felt like the first time I got to Plat.
I was in the same boat until I ran a few games and it finally clicked for me. Rotation and team fights mid to late game are most rewarding this season. After the realization i got my bro and a friend of mine online and we easily headed towards Gold. Adapting is still a bit difficult for me though, I hit Diamond with ease last season. Now I feel like I’m playing Diamond lobbies in Silver 😂

They NEED TO HAVE PLACEMENT MATCHES FOR RANKED JUST LIKE THEY DO WITH RANKED ARENAS. It's ridiculous to throw everyone at bronze then expect for us ppl that were hardstuck Plat/Diamond to compete with Masters and Preds

this new ranked system really proves who deserves to be a higher rank and who doesn't. so many people in the previous season's got to diamond and masters but didn't deserve it
Not really. For pre-made squads, sure, but for players who solo queue, no. They have potential to be higher ranked, but are held back from having horrible teammates

I do really like your content, and I hope I don’t sound condescending by saying this but this is really for anyone who has been struggling hard the past couple of days. At 19:25, Rag really made the wrong play for this new system. I’ve been saying this since the changes first came out: this system WILL punish players who push fights without their teams. There are times, especially around 10 squads left that you absolutely should consider utilizing the crafting system or looting for end game. This new system is all about end game.
I get impatient with my teammates too but I would never go into even the neighboring area to push a fight, you have to always be in revive range of them unless it’s a coordinated assault with all 3 teammates carrying it out.
If you’re the type of person to get impatient with teammates for looting and get aggressive about it (not directly at rag, but the type of randoms I tend to run into as well) then you might want to sit this ranked season out.
i always queue for ranked with friends, but even then we utilize the crafter as much as we can.
shield batts have been scarce as of late, so being able to just get a few batts makes a world of difference. (also the spitfire being on the ground again just allows me to beam enemies mid range while having ammo to spare)
@@DarkDyllon yeah I noticed that his teammates were crafting healing items which is the only reason I felt the need to make a comment! I typically try not to criticize content creators because they’re people too, but I feel like it’ll help his gameplay so much if he adapted to some of the recent changes 💚

It's a struggle, every teammate I get wants to drop hot, and then get knocked within a minute of landing, and I have two teammates down, while all I can find is a P2020 and a dream. It gets very frustrating, and then if you play too safe, your teammates are yelling at you even though you are still alive, and if you push to revive and get killed, they yell at you for that. Playing solo in ranked is so hard when the game continues to give me complete morons as teammates.

That ending just proves that the Gibby is still a much better Legend to have at end game. Gibby Shield 360 perimeter protection while the other legend has no overhead protection from bombardment...Bangalores brother is probably the better Medic of the Three Legends as he can use his more often with Shielding.

I don't know how common knowledge it is, but if you get a kill at the start, it's worth 1 RP then, but the points you get for that kill scale as you get higher, so it's worth 1RP at the start, but if you get into the top 10 that 1RP turns into 5 and it'll keep being worth more the higher you get.

Bronze was way more challenging than it should have been this season. Luckily, I just barely made it to silver 4. But you can demote down out of tiers this season too. So.. well see... lol
Every win game that one of my teammates leave in ranked just out of spite I know they don’t get to see me win but it builds my confidence when I clutch the last 1v3

Entertaining and funny as always! Overall, I like the new ranked system, but it has really fudged us Solo Q warriors. Really need a team/co-ordination to consistently do well and climb.
Well I believe that was entirely the point too many people were dropping into trios with full squads or simply solo queue it and then just running off and either dying or just not really helping with anything or even unbalanced team's so I get why respawn did it

I'm a solo q player, I've made it to gold 3, hardest part of all of it has been being teamed up with people who barely know the game. I think one out of 15 matches I might get teamed up with one person that knows the game, other than that it's usually people that don't. I enjoy the challenge though.
While my teammate asked me to do uncivilized acts to his attackers I was being stocked as well XD had me dying

New ranked has solved this s$@t hot drop problem trios has: all i can say is play the game the way it always should have been; cool calm and collected and dont bother killing till third ring w 200 rp w 1 or 2 kills in second place is the M O. hot drop anarchy can be played still yall just dont deserve a reward for luck. I really liked the new system until today, me and my friends are gold 4 and nearly gold 3 but we gain like 40 a game when I have 7 kills and 4 assists and come like 6th, I just don't think that placement should be as important as kills because we always get third partied because everyone hides, I just hope they add the old system back, it was good that u needed kills but placement would double it, it was fait and made better players get the rank they deserve and not mean that third parties would make u lose so much rp, hopfully season 14 they will change it back or better than the changes they did this season because I can only see myself getting plat or diamond this season
in an battle royale, where the last squad standing is the name of the game, people complain when you can't rush, get a few kills, get wiped and still rank up.
it's suppose to be a matter of how you placed, don't go out and pick random fights, be strategic don't just run out in the open to an death box without knowing the risks.
(i currently play Wraith, i generally do these things knowing i can press the "oh shit" button and get out)
it should be a lot about your position, maybe increase the RP you'll gain after maybe 10-12th orsomething like that, but your final position should be the deciding factor, don't hot drop, don't drop in places where loot can be scarced and 3 other squads are landing on top of you.
if you want that experience, go play pubs, which is designed to be for the casual not caring about their placement/rank.
ranked is suppose to give the regular playerbase the "ALGS" experience without going pro yourself, you see pros in ALGS hot drop all on 1 spot? you see them rush torwards an enemy without first carefully concidering positioning, the enemy strength and if they are cracked or not?
Rag tagg are by far the most entertaining game channel I know. I really like you way of doing it, a pretty decent player combined with funny storytelling! Keep up the good work. Waiting patiently for the next video.

It’s less about being stuck, and more about the fact that I used to be able to make decent progress by just having more positive games than negative ones. Now I have to lose 300 RP in a match where I normally would’ve only lost -16 just because I’m getting demoted? That’s stupid.
