Bartolo Colon was one of the most beloved baseball players of the 2010s. Throughout all of the love, memes, and highlights - there was one final Bartolo moment that turned out to be his final incredible achievement.

Fun TRUE fact: I was voted most similar hitter to Bartolo Colon in high school
Jesus loves you!!
…sexy?
You made the team so that’s an achievement alone!!!! 😁
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I can believe it 😊
I saw him pitch a complete game in 2021 (at age 48) in the mexican league with the acereros de monclova (my hometown team) truly spectacular. Man's a legend!
In Colorado Springs that year we had Monclovas minor team. We hoped they would send Bartolommeo but it never happened :( instead we got Aldo Nunez
Fun fact: In 2018 Bartolo and Adrian Beltre were the last active players who debuted in the 20th century.
and both were on the Rangers. Life is a weird thing aint it?
Bartolo Colon. The Baseball player wanted but the Baseball player we never knew we needed. Apparently he plans on making a return to playing in MLB somehow he could. He's truely a legend in Baseball and I miss seeing him play MLB Baseball in Modern Day on my screen. You can do it big Sexy Bartolo Colon return to MLB we believe in you
if he does I'm buying the show just to play with him and other Anaheim Angels players who appeared in the legendary MVP Baseball 2005 ❤️
If he makes even one appearance this decade he would join the 4 decades club in the MLB. I’m hoping for it honestly.
It’s do or die. He said he’s retiring after the 2023 season whether he makes it back or not
My dad loved Bartolo. He would always say “One for us old guys!” When he was pitching
All Dads love Bartolo.
@@buuddha77 true. I think it’s an obligation for someone 40+ to love him
I remember watching a game in 2012 when he was with the A's, my grandma comes in who doesn't know anything about baseball and she was impressed by how quick the team played and said in Spanish "Wow, you must be a very slim and athletic person to play baseball." Literally right as she said that Bartolo comes on screen, and we both just started cracking up. God bless Bartolo freaking Colon
I’ll never forget that Bartolo homer game. My brother and I are eating and watching the game. I go to him “he looks like he’s ready to hit today maybe he’ll crush one” literally next pitch hits that homer. Such a good Mets memory
A rare, good Mets memory
@@Leninade-ze7pd they’re few and far between
@@TheTEN24 just like my reds 😞
Great video. Was baffled that him becoming the most winningest Latino pitcher of all time was not mentioned. It was an amazing feat and honestly I truly believe it is why Bartolo stayed in the the Bigs. He surpassed Dennis Martinez and Juan Marichal for all time wins. While the near perfect game was an amazing story I think this feat is the acme of his story arch.
Ah Big Sexy, I'll miss him. Hopefully he at least gets SOME HOF votes!
I was rooting for him to play in 4 decades in 2020.
Same
Fun fact, 3 years later, in his age 48 season, Colon played his last year in pro ball in the Mexican League. Posting a 4.55 ERA in 11 starts, in which he had a 2-run complete game.
He might not be a sabermetric darling or a media darling but he is for sure a players association lock when it comes right? right?
I think he’s more of a VC pick. Older voters are probably going to be drawn to his longevity, especially since he has almost 250 wins. And he’s actually more sabremetically inclined than people believe; at over 49 WAR, he’s considered a borderline candidate.
Just in time I was having a heart attack over Bailey's top 50
EXCELLENT video. Thank you for this. It's Bartolo "After Shave" Colon's world and we are blerssed to be living in it. One of the true great personalities who backed it up, even surpassed it with talent. Baseball should always be a game. Nobody worked harder than him off the field but on the field, he was a Little Leaguer playing the game, making it look like child's play.
As an Astros fan, I was heartbroken when he lost that perfect game
The only time I would’ve been ok with somebody getting a perfect game against us😭
I’m still waiting for him to come out with his own signature scent *BIG SEXY COLOGNE* by Bartolo. I’d get it for everyone on my gift list. No bout a doubt it.
if u told me id be eating my dinner to a bartolo colon mets meme highlight reel with a pink filter and hearts i wouldnt believe u, but i did lol
I don't remember him on the Yankees at all. But dude was a journeyman pitcher, so it doesn't surprise me.
As a HUGE bartolo fan he’s the goat 🐐 Fr
I haven't finished the video yet but I'm pretty sure this going to talk about the almost perfect game he threw.
Great vid. I love how you can get to the heart of thing and express exactly why I’m thinking. The romanticism of baseball. I am an NFL guy first and foremost, but there’s something about baseball and its ability to make me emotional. Thanks for a great vid.
Red Sox fan here. Bartolo was with the Red Sox in 2008 - as a minor league signing. He was selected by the Sox and had a nice start going 4-1 with a 3.41 ERA. But he got injured and the left the team and went home never to come back to the team again. I thought that was the end of his career then. Nobody expected then that he would retire 10 years later still and that the hottest part of his career - the Big Sexy part - still to come.
He was still somewhat serious about trying to get signed in MLB last season. He was playing in the '22 Mexican League I think.
I still remember when this happened and how excited I was about it. It’s one of my favorite baseball facts that I still share today.😊
So glad I got to watch this in person
I got the chance to see Colon pitch in his final season. A really mediocre game in Minnesota closed by another older Dominican pitcher in Fernando Rodney, but it was good to see the legend himself at least once in person.
Nice job with this video man.
I remember that game. Watched it from the end of the first just marvelling at it. What's even more amazing about it was that he only threw fastballs. His other stuff wasn't there and he just dominated
I'm a Red Sox fan and my dad and I went to a game on the road in Philly in 2008 that Bartolo started for the Sox, and we saw him swing his brains out, and it was funny but then he got injured right after that game so we weren't too happy!!
If he never sells a product called Bartolo's Cologne, it's a missed opportunity.
I remember getting the mlb notification and tuning in just to see it unravel immediately lol
That schlatt clip is perfectly timed
Nice subtle American Psycho reference
Love me some Big Sexy Bartolo. Only played one year with my red sox, but I remember him all the way back in the Cleveland days.
Man the Mets sure love signing old pitchers lol
He's who Alex Rodriguez wants to be. Someone who did a round of steroids but had a beloved persona around himself that allowed that suspension to be forgotten.
i don’t even think it was steroids it was just testosterone iirc
Bartolo HR is the greatest MLB play of all time.
i saw Colon get shelled in 2017 by the padres when he was on the braves. glad i got to see him one last time
The sign stealing probably didn't work because Bart throws only fastballs. Granted, it's about 17 different kinds of fastballs.
Legend!
He belongs to the HOF!
And I think there should be a Bartolo trophy for most loveable player.
In 2018, my buddy and I (Bartolo Enthusiasts) went to go see him pitch against the Twins in Minneapolis, we got tickets first level in left field right next to the Rangers bullpen, we were less than 100 feet away from him watching him warmup. We brought Big Sexy signs and it led to us being on TV. My sign said “Big Sexy is Sexy” and my buddy’s sign said “Big Sexy is the 🐐” but Bartolo pitched a gem that day but the Rangers still lost 2-0
I remember seeing him and wearing my “Big Sexy” t-shirt and Twins cap and being nervous he was going to beat the Twins. Was Jose Berrios on the bump for the Twins that day?
The only thing missing from Massive Attractive's resume is hitting a triple, although that may have torn a hole in the space-time continuum.
"Colon will be on the ballet in 2024"
Excuse me, WHAT?!
LONG LIVE BARTOLO
I just checked instagram and sure enough I see a post from Bartolo from 20-ish minutes ago (On February 8th, 2023- the date this video was published) working out and wearing Mets gear.
Seventh inning stretch probably buggered up his momentum! 😏
Using Fortnite as a metric of time passing, God I love the internet.
If he makes the hall of fame I’d love to see him go in as a Met. Even though he played just 2 seasons there his best moments were in NY.
He’s gotta go in as a Montreal Expo
I have a feeling he’ll either go in as an Indian (where he played the most years) or as an Angel (where he won his Cy Young).
I could honestly see him going in with a blank hat. The Indians were his longest tenure, the Angels had his Cy Young peak, and the Mets had his renaissance.
Even though they lost, I was rooting for him during that WS appearance vs KC .
Love the video but I think the pink filter was a little to heavy it still love the content!! Keep it up!!
Put Bartolo in the HOF
My most prized possession is an As Bartolo Colon all star jersey that my brother in law got from the man himself.
Has anyone ever made the mistake of charging the mound on big boy?
9:55 lol
7:06…wait, WHAT?!
Edit: Apparently that was a joke that took over Twitter? I mean, it would have been hilarious…
I miss when this guy (srs) had no face.
I wish we could have kept him in Cleveland but we ended up with two of my all time favorite Indians, Grady Sizemore and Cliff Lee.
Let’s see Paul Allen’s Baseball card
american psycho reference w 😂
I think you should do a video on Mickey Vernon!
Bartolo has had fat old man strength since he was like 30 and it hasn't failed him yet. He'll never be a front line pitcher ever again, that much is clear, but I have zero doubt he could pitch next year and make 30 starts with a 4.50 era and 150 ks. He's the guy standing in line at McDonalds for a big mac and an emergency happens requiring him to pull a drowning kid out of the ball pit
I would vote for colòn for the hall of fame no doubt
Big Sexy is still one of my favorite Mets all time, shout-out Derek Fisher!
Also, that Astros team was stacked.
9:08, 😄😄😄
i was at this truly astinishing stuff]
Good video. But what the hell was that filter on the montage? It made the clips almost completely unwatchable.
1:59 TIL you are too young and need to get off my lawn.
Is scoobert bartolo colon?
I love me some Big Sexy. Bartolo is one of baseball's greatest players and personalities of all time. Tell me I'm wrong and I will do nothing about it except for laugh and continue to think the way I do. Bartolo, if you're reading this some day, you are remembered and loved by all of us!
Is this Ken Carson?
BRO TJIS GIVES ME KENNY POWERS VIDE IS IT JUST ME
More than a month later and I still can't believe IKR is dating Margot Robbie. The one time he didn't drop the ball.
Good jschlatt clip
Big Sexy to the HOF or we riot
Atlanta gave him 12.5 million for 1 year
IKF Is dating Margo Robbie.. yeah that's the only thing he winning at rn
No thanks on the pink filter. Otherwise awesome!
Like any player banned for steroids, he shouldn’t be celebrated at all
Our Lord and Savior.
Hes my cousin
What is with the red background. Ruined resolution of games
Bart is my favorite player ever. No one asked; no one cares.
First
I always ALWAYS hated bartolo and I may be the only one
My man brought up the Astros scandal every chance you got then brought up the rangers doing it once and said it doesn't matter. Not even an Astros fan but it's clear your bias is showing
It only didn’t matter with the Rangers for this situation since Bartolo was a pitcher. The Astros’ sign stealing mattered for this particular story because pitchers were who notoriously got victimized on the road in Houston
@@StarkRavingSports This was in 2018, not 2017, who cares
