Doris Day was truly one of a kind. They don't make 'em like her anymore.
Rest in Peace, Doris Day and John Denver. :'( Maybe they're together again, singing duets in Heaven.
Now they are both singing in the Heavenly Sunshine. Rest in peace, Doris Day, May 13, 2019.
Wow!!! I watched this when it was on TV!!! where did 35 years go??? I was 21 and wished I looked like Doris. John could perform with anyone! HE WAS THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS!!!!! still miss ya, John

ughhh wow Doris Day was still pretty good looking considering she was FIFTY THREE in 1975..... and John Denver looked like a kid.... He was one of the great voices of our time- pure natural beautiful voice.
How lucky people were in those days, to see these greats in person.
I never saw Doris Day in person, but I DID get to see John Denver in concert once, and it was awesome!
Doris Day and John Denver filled our hearts with joy because of the goodness and decency they projected into our lives, just like Richard and Karen Carpenter.
LOVE this...I was only 8 when this was on TV...but I totally remember it...What a great thing to grow up in a time when people still needed talent to be celebrities.
Doris Day was about 53 here... WOW! She was in great shape, still looked cute, and could still sing as well as she could in her 20s!

Actress and singer Doris Day made nearly three dozen films and more than 600 recordings. At the height of her career, she topped both the billboard and the box office charts. Day died of pneumonia this morning, Monday May 13, 2019 at the age of 97.
This video reminds me of how far we have come and how much of ourselves we have abandoned.
We have grown to parody happiness and freedom because of how we hardened ourselves to pain.
Try to smile and imagine this kind of life. It is not impossible, but the road home, after many years, is never as you left it and never easy.

Two of my favorite singers of my youth back in the 70's. June of 1975 is when I graduated from high school. I use to have a serious crush on Doris Day. When her vocals came in on sunshine on my shoulder my heart felt so calm and warm as what her vocals always did to me. Love you Doris even though you are are 90 and I am 58. RIP John Denver.
I love you regardless, Doris, but I don't think you'd go out with me is what I meant to say.

So glad that they made these "corny" shows. I love to watch them now. Our beloved John will be forever on film for us to watch. Doris is still living.

Rex Reed, who loved Doris, once joked that there was chicken fat on the filter used to photograph her. But that's the way she wanted it. I saw this special when it was new, and keep cracking it open occasionally as a treat.

I have this on dvd. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS, I can watch it over and over.
These two stars were the the most memorable , most loved and most influential of my life. John's music from the seventies is still my favorites and I've always adored Doris. This video makes me very happy.

What a great videol--so unique!!! The two performers blend in together singing these wonderful "Sunshine Songs" accompanied by a little dancing which made it even more special. Whoever had the idea to put it together was brilliant. You just have to lean back and smile feeling happy. I will save it so I can enjoy it again and again.

You can see the chemistry they had! I looked it up and Doris was 53 and John was 32.
Love them both - it was a time before tattoos and piercings and heavy metal and songs full of swearing and ear bashing
