I'm a big fan of the music compilations you do. You always make good selections, and I generally end up listening to these while I work. Just wanted to say "good job" and "thanks"!
@@SNESdrunk hey my friend, just wanted to let you know that life is a lot better now, thank you for always being there. sometimes when it rains, it really pours but brighter times are ahead :) only the best for you too!
Lufia, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, FFIV were my fav one... CT and SOM gave me the most feel since that were the one I played during my childhood ♥ the other one I was either around 17 or older, still I have great memories of theses games and love their ost
[3:25] Terranigma, “Crysta” So beautiful that it hurts. [22:48] Ys III: Wanderers From Ys, “Trading Town of Redmont” This song nails the "let's go on an adventure!" tone. [26:49] Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, “Saved Town” I wanna be there. [33:59] Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, “Town” The sound of sleeping in an inn after a hard day's grind. :)
This gave me a serious urge to play super Mario RPG and Ys III. Haven’t thought about Ys in years, and just hearing the town music brought back the whole game playing in my head. Amazing how one song can trigger memories long forgotten.
+Chaser also almost in every lufia games i played i noticed that they had the same rhythm in lufia 1,lufia 2 also in town and in the dungeon in lufia 3 ;)
The Action may be where a game varies from being mediocre to being good, but the calm moments adding to that in any game, the downtime, the time where you can say "Phew, so this is done, time for a little rest", these are what transform a good game into a stellar game.
Seaside Town from _Super Mario RPG_ is the only one I think you really missed. Hearing that one after what can be a rather tough boss fight and then rescuing the town's actual population feels like letting out a deep sigh of relief.
Great list and great to see you doing another list! Would have loved to see Green Continent Campbell from Bahamut Lagoon, but it's pretty hard to argue with your list. :)
Not underrated at all. Everyone who speaks about Secret of Mana always mentions its incredible music. The fact Kikuta created his own samples for the soundtrack sure makes a big difference. The intro song literally made me cry the first time I heard it back in 1994, and magazines back then were already highly praising the sounds of this game. So many good memories in those songs :-)
My personal preference for Lufia II is Narvick. After you play through the entire game hearing the same town themes, you get this epic theme that marks the beginning of the end game. I love all of the music in Lufia II though.
Awesome compilation! Who cares if people disagree, you are entitled to your opinion of what are the "best". If they don't like it they can go somewhere else! Also, subscribed.
even if i never rly played earthbound i like this metropolis theme the most and it gives nostalgia to me even if it shouldnt cauz i dont played it. i think it has a vibe to it that just suits the old 16 bit days too good
SNES Drunk, you really really really need to play Harvest Moon. I've noticed you rarely include tracks from the game, and with so many opportunities to add them too.
I take issue with your loose use of the word turn based RPGs to describe J-RPGS, when the first two are Action RPGs... But aside from that, awesome, I needed music for studying
***** To be fair, Dragon Quest 5 didn't really have good town/village music but 6 and especially 3 have great village music. The ones here are good though. If you haven't already play 3 on SNES, the music is among the top tier SNES RPGS.
Most often village songs remind me to take a moment and appreciate the amazing world around me with its slower pace.
I'm filled with a bittersweet joy. My childhood on every track. A happier time a simpler time
Sir, I played almost all games from this list - many good memories came back to my mind

+jjmiller1980 Thanks!
@@SNESdrunk Actraiser - Birth of the People
I listen to them at work a lot too. You have good taste.
had a bad day today, just put this on, made some tea and watched the rain. thank you
Hang in there

+WigglyMalmsteam so beautiful it hurts, thats so accurate
I agree about “Crysta.” That tune is hauntingly beautiful.
Some of the best soundtracks and memories I have
This gave me a serious urge to play super Mario RPG and Ys III. Haven’t thought about Ys in years, and just hearing the town music brought back the whole game playing in my head. Amazing how one song can trigger memories long forgotten.
The Color of the Summer Sky will never leave my mind, its just such a perfect and catchy tune
Brings me back to simpler times. Wish I could relive all of those adventures some day
most often it´s the village songs which evoke the most nostalgia
+Dai Kaizen i agree it bring back memories
What can be more nastolgic than a comfy homestead setting?
Ocarina
The one from Chronio Trigger made me restart the game again... ♥
🤗
Mystic Quest OST is so underrated, I love seeing it on here.
Also I never played YS but that YS song SLAPS
Finally the first Lufia gets a little recognition..!
My face lit up when I heard someone put secret of evermore on a compilation video. That was a surprise.
Starting off nice with Illusion of Gaia
YS3 is my top fav. Loved that tune. Damn there whole soundtrack was great. Childhood goose bumps
I know this is an old video, but man, thanks for making this mix. I account for probably 1k views. lol
in all the hours I spent sat in front of the tv playing these games, i never experienced the incredible stereo of it!
One minute in and already tears in my eyes. Sweet memories.
Man this list is awesome!! I played about 5 game that in the list,it really bring memories hearing it all,Thanks a lot SNESDrunk!!
+Chaser also almost in every lufia games i played i noticed that they had the same rhythm in lufia 1,lufia 2 also in town and in the dungeon in lufia 3 ;)
Listened to this a couple times over now, and I keep liking it more.
Well done, SNES Drunk!
This brought back SO many great memories. Thanks for the video!
The Color of the Summer Sky always puts me in a great mood.
This is such a great mix of music. I listen to it while I work!
Thank you for compiling it.
Thanks for taking your time to make and upload this compilations, greetings.
Ahhh what a great job.... that first theme, is just so relaxing.....
Thank you so much for these music compilations! You're the best
who could disagree??? No one! you didn't only pick the best themes, but the best games as well! they are all there!!
i think i used youtube premium precisly for these compilation. Thank you for your work
Sad that Tales of Phantasia's first village theme is missing. It's somehow both peaceful and energetic...lots of fun to listen to on its own.
The Action may be where a game varies from being mediocre to being good, but the calm moments adding to that in any game, the downtime, the time where you can say "Phew, so this is done, time for a little rest", these are what transform a good game into a stellar game.
If I had a garden outside my window I would look at it from inside listening to this.
Seaside Town from _Super Mario RPG_ is the only one I think you really missed. Hearing that one after what can be a rather tough boss fight and then rescuing the town's actual population feels like letting out a deep sigh of relief.
This is one of my go to playlist when i have work to get done! Thank you for making this.
Only just found your channel. Loving these SNES compilations! :D
My soul is a peace. I am glad that I get to play these awesome master piece game.
Right off the bat with one of my favorites. ❤
Great list and great to see you doing another list! Would have loved to see Green Continent Campbell from Bahamut Lagoon, but it's pretty hard to argue with your list. :)
This is one of my favorite SNESDrunk music compilations, but I do wish he would've included something from Seiken Densetsu 3.
The first track on this playlist always makes me feel homesick. I've never even played the game.
Wow. You ought to give it a shot. It sold so well you ought to be able to find a copy
Lufia & The Fortress of Doom regular town theme is my favorite
Very cool. I like these types of videos. You are awesome
Thanks for this playlist, keep the themed playlists coming!
I mean, Ys 3's village theme is amazing. The music from Ys, specifically the first four games, is amazing.
Secret of Mana is severely underrated music-wise. It has such a distinct style that isn't typical of RPG's from the period.
So many good memories in those songs :-)

awesome, so relaxing. really good tune choices aswell! gj :)

[29:43] Final Fantasy IV, "Town Theme” but the picture was FF II tittle.
I've always loved that FFIII track..
천지창조의 Crysta는 SNES의 음원의 특징을 잘 살린 곡 같습니다
Have you played sea of stars? That opening village theme is amazing. Easily one of the best “modern retro” village themes.
Old School Video Game music will always be the best hey just my opinion lol
No "City of FIre" from FFMQ 😪 still a great list of songs.. and always 💯 SNES DRUNK
even if i never rly played earthbound i like this metropolis theme the most and it gives nostalgia to me even if it shouldnt cauz i dont played it. i think it has a vibe to it that just suits the old 16 bit days too good
secret of evermore may have the best soundtrack ever.
some smoothie stuff for a lazy time
Surprised Star Ocean isn't on this list
I would have gone with the theme from Threed for an Earthbound track. After you defeat Master Belch, of course..
Have to agree, theese songs are my sanitycheck while i work the horde of emails from customers :P
final fantasy mystic quest saved town nostagia :)
ff3 kids run through the city! wow that brings back memories :(
Squaresoft vs Enix: FIGHT
with guest appearances from Nintendo, Capcom, Sammy and Taito
Great selections!
THIS IS AWESOME in all caps!
What a fantastic idea. Good job.
Thanks. Love the mix! Did you mean to do one from FF6? It showed for about two seconds.
The final fantasy IV town theme is called "welcome to our town"
Whats the intro music track? I love it! I think i asked the same thing for your last snes music vid and still no response. P.S. Love your work man!
+edwardsatoms It's something I wrote and recorded 10+ years ago. And thanks!
High IQ, based, and villagepilled. Ever play XAK (on SNES or elsewhere)? That game has my fave RPG town themes.
Atland theme from Lagoon is sorely missing... sniff :(
thanks dude, ya helped me add a meaningful soundtrack to towns that had no meaning in 2021 with their mediocre "epic" sound space.
14:07
Heard this in the AVGN Earth Bound video and had to find it lmao
Yaaaaaas
No Kakariko Village? A complete snub
Why is there like two seconds of FF6 music before Chrono Trigger 😂 such a tease
SNES Drunk, you really really really need to play Harvest Moon. I've noticed you rarely include tracks from the game, and with so many opportunities to add them too.
Its crazy Mystic Quest is really not a good game but has an elite OST
I consider Final Fantasy V's "Harvest" to be the apogee of the form; how many other town themes are composed as reels?
What's the music at the start?
The music became as important as the games themselves
whens volume 2 coming, its been 4 years
please what's this snes game music starting at ua-cam.com/video/9RZCT3ONbYg/v-deo.htmlm22s ??
No Dragon Quest song? Wow haha great playlist, though
Crystal Village :')
[25:31] Secret of Mana, “The Color of the Summer Sky”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No ALttP Kakariko? That's like *the* village theme
I would go with the other town theme for Illusion of Gaia - even catchier
What is the intro music?
there’s an intrio of a set of snes rpg sung. I can’t find it
I'm curious what the intro song is?
really good for stardew valley
Treasure Hunter G?
I've never heard of this game. Is it any good?
+TightManlyPants It's good. Pretty sure it had to be translated online. Grab the rom.
+TightManlyPants some kind of lufia/shining forces, meh, not bad, not good either IMO
I take issue with your loose use of the word turn based RPGs to describe J-RPGS, when the first two are Action RPGs... But aside from that, awesome, I needed music for studying
Say, fuzzy pickles!!!
❤️🕹️👾🎮❤️
Wow, no music from Dragon Quest 3, 5, or 6.
+Muzic Kidd Having just played a ton of 5 and 6 very recently (and having made this video months ago), I am in complete agreement. What was I thinking
*****
To be fair, Dragon Quest 5 didn't really have good town/village music but 6 and especially 3 have great village music. The ones here are good though. If you haven't already play 3 on SNES, the music is among the top tier SNES RPGS.
+SNES drunk How come you made the video months ago but only published it now?
+Alex Krasny I stick to a schedule. SNES games every Tuesday, Steam/NES/GB/Genesis/Music on Thursdays.
Wow you are a much greater man than I
well... i can see there are no secret of evermore songs on here... hahahah :)
No Voloh? Instant fail.
