This is a rare sight, an Honest (enough) Brit... however... RF Ambassador is no fool, nor will he be played. All RF Senior Personnel are fully briefed and well informed. Ambassador does not pull his punches, with grace, finesse and aplomb. Nice references to Brit's own published historical bias... the use of Collective West's own mischaracterisation and caricature propaganda... since forever... BRAVO RF. "Mistakes"... on the part of The Hegemon and its Army of Conquest NATO... yeah right... RF Ambassador completely contextualises every aspect of where we "find" ourselves... One Nil to RF

My view is that West's expansion of Nato is the cause of this conflict. If the roles were reversed the Americans would be hysterical. Nevertheless, its good to see both sides talking to one another. Global thermonuclear war will seriously ruin everyones day.

At this stage the only Russian strength are the ICBMs, all the rest has been shown to be quite fragile. Years of corruption led to that.
What we can be certain is that Russia is not rich, it is getting poorer every day. We have all the indirect data and by now even their Central Bank Lady is not able to hide the fact.

The British diplomat speaks and reasons as if Britain is still an influential force in world affairs as before. For a long time, Britain can give the impression of a country of some importance in the world scene only by playing second fiddle to the USA. In this video, he doesn't say anything even barely "suggesting" the role that the American neo-cons played in the debacle of Ukraine. Well, you see, the problem of democracy in Russia is one thing, but a national threat to Russia is another thing. You might accuse Russia of being non-democratic, but even realizing this, ordinary Russians still have the reason to support the government in protecting it's national interests. That is an explanation why Putin's approval rating grows, despite the problems. What i'm saying is, the west has always been playing in Putin's hand, whether it realizes it or not. For Russians it shows that the west simply doesn't care, because they want to destroy Russia altogether, not fight for democracy as they like to say.

Yes, all of this is true. But what you probably don't know is that UK and USA have thousands of media channels aimed directly at Russia and Russian population in Russian languages desperately trying to brainwash ordinary citizens on the ground. And whilst for the large part this is ineffective, there are still those who buy into such desperate propaganda and deception. I was very surprised when I saw the actual list of all such channels operated and funded by the likes of BBC (which has its own branded Russian broadcast channel) and many others funded by US state department from Voice of America to numerous Russian variants and strange sounding brands trying to masquerade as some kind of local radio. The west also funded numerous so called "NGO" organisations aiming at disruption and outright damage to Russian economy and interests. And the most shocking thing in all this is that it was "permitted". This so called "Russian dictatorship" allowed such hostile entities to operate. And how UK's ever so democratic regime got scared of Russia's only channel Russia Today and implemented outright repression against journalists and this honest media channels. All got shut down in the dirtiest most toxic manner characteristic of UK regime.

if you read the history, it turns out that there is no other country except Russia that would give / or preserve such a number of states. Georgia was saved from the Persians and Turks, Bulgaria and Austria were saved from the Turks, the United States was saved from Britain, Armenia was saved from the Turks, Europe was saved from Germany. Germany and Poland were saved from the anti-Hitler coalition when Britain and the United States proposed to destroy these states. Stalin then said: "The Hitlers are leaving, but the German people are staying." France, which surrendered to Hitler in 3 weeks, was put by Stalin in the UN Security Council and made a victorious country. I remember the phrase of a German general who, looking at the French, said in surprise: "How! Did these beat us too?"

Russian economy is growing and has become number one economy in Europe at the same time as trade with UK going to zero. Perhaps having such country as UK in "opposition" is not a bad thing for Russia. There are big markets in Africa, Asia and other regions where Russian business is both welcome and more beneficial for Russia. Perhaps it is simply not worth it doing much with UK when UK itself is so hostile. UK cannot even sign a free-trade deal with USA. UK also lost access to European markets. And Russia clearly has not lost much by not trading with UK. On the contrary Russia gained economically and politically. There needs to be something useful for Russia in UK otherwise why bother.

For example Russia dislikes the wish of Ukraine to join NATO. If I imagine being an Ukrainian I could not see any reason not to wish joining NATO. So my question: Why do some countries think they have more to say than others? And if we accept that there are powerful countries that are allowed to tell weaker countries what they are allowed to do, in what kind of world do we want to live in?

@0gkmedia0 NATO is a military alliance that in order to exists, i.e. to generate profit for the Military Industrial Complex, it must have an opponent. The most suitable opponent after the end of the so called "War on Terror" that lasted over 20 years and produced over $8 trillions in revenues for MIC, is of course Russia, and maybe later China. They use to say that a day of war in Ukraine is equal with few months of war in Afghanistan from the financial point of view. Russia is not happy to have a mark painted on his back, therefore it fights back when it was provoked. Mostly the provocations came under the form of ethnic or religious issues, because those two are verified through history as the most efficient ways to induce tensions in the target population. Those tensions are exploited as the MIC interests dictate. For the MIC to promote its interests is very easy because it have two essential assets: mainstream media that depends on commercial contracts and politicians that needs money for their campaigns. I hope my explanations helps.

Don't bother with these folks, it's pointless, they're Russians after all. In their minds, they can dictate, steal land and kill the people of any non major nuclear power just because the latter cannot defend without the help of spineless people in the West who aren't men enough to stop them directly. Russia doesn't act because of security concerns, they use the so called security concerns as an excuse to act (pretty much like the US uses the so called democracy concerns in a similar way, to be honest). Ask any Russian neighbour from Finland to Japan who Russia is and why, then ask them if they want to be in Russia's boat or the US one, if given a free choice, and you'll find out the truth.
We already live in the world you mentioned, the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council told everybody else what they can or can't do for decades now.

14 July 2024. Band Practice. I learned the double-bass-kick from Arnie, now I work it into the groove, alternating single-bass-kick with double-bass-kick in a fast 4/4 beat. We're all in the pocket, dialed in, incredibly three men from three different generations, the bass carrying us like a river, the lead guitar solo hot enough to melt the face off a confederate statue. We play the tape back and I can't believe my ears - it sounds like rock & roll music. The drums sound better than I ever thought I could play. I don't know what this summer holds for our country, nothing good. For three transcendent hours I got to play drums in a no-shit rock & roll band and came home to my cat, so for the first time in a long time I've got something to live for. Do you like American music? We like all kinds of music. This week I will practice my rudiments, but only because Tre Cool from Green Day says to do so. Ambassadors must comprehend Axis Forces' 21st-century grand strategy to explain the current events. Japan sent Francis Fukuyama to carry out the WWIII plan as the Policy Planning Staff at the U.S. State Department from 1981 to 1989. Fukuyama is a city in Hiroshima where the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb. In 1989, Fukuyama was the deputy director for European political-military affairs, leading to NATO expansion in central and eastern Europe, i.e., Georgia and Ukraine. Being inside, Fukuyama knew the Soviet Union would collapse due to Brezhnev's 'Era of Economic Stagnation' 1964-1982, so he published 'The End of History' on Feb 1, 1989, resulting in U.S. policy change towards international liberal order, aiming at against Russia and China. The tensions in Europe and Asia are caused by the Axis Forces wanting WWIII in the Atlantic and the Pacific theaters to achieve WWII's failure, expanding their territories. War requires planning; it isn't spontaneous: Ukraine against Russia or Taiwan province and the Philippines against China.

I have read several other comments and am surprised at what i find. I took this at face value as two men doing what they are both trained and skilled at doing - namely trying to use diplomaxy as an alternative to war to try to solve disputes between nations. The rights and wrongs are surely less important than the balance if power.
Is not the hope that that balance of power is reaching an equilibrium where a compromise could be found and are not these men seeking to find that compromise and to look to the future and how we might ressurect - seemingly miraculously - better and prosperous relations again.
No-one relishes the deaths and anguish
It is becoming clear that a compromise is coming with the change of US president.
Russia will keep some of its gains, the remainder of Ukraine will join Europe and will agree not to join NATO in a treaty lasting xxx decades. Trade will resume, generations will come and go and friendships between all countries will eventually resume
I remember my parents saying we would never forgive the behaviour of the Japanese soldiers in WWII. My children know and care little about that - they both love Japan and the Japanese.
Personally i remain optimistic in the long term - and admire both of these men for what they are saying and doing. I believe they have good intentions.

7 August 2024. Evening Dispatch. Not for nothing, but this comparison-of-military-records is exactly what I hoped to avoid by suggesting Kelly for VP. Anyone who volunteers for military service is a better American than the 99% of Americans who don't, so it is unseemly for us to attack each other's records. If she went with the Fighter Pilot/Astronaut, we wouldn't be having this comparison-of-records at all. I reckon there are two kinds of presidential candidates: those who are secure enough in their own ability to choose a Fighter Pilot/Astronaut for a running mate, and those who aren't.
But "stolen valor"? That's a serious charge from Vance. To me, stolen valor is the guy wearing a Silver Star veteran ballcap in the bar in Colorado Springs who admits he didn't earn the award and is then ordered by another veteran to remove his ballcap (not by me, I don't like to be the stolen valor police). Has Walz in anyway misrepresented or lied about his military service? On what basis is he accused of stolen valor?
Walz makes an excellent point, a point that could finally end decades of interminable argument about abortion & guns. We should indeed all mind our own business. This is country ethos - in the country they even have a song about it: "well if you mind your own business then you won't be minding mine." So the Americans who have assault rifles must mind their own business when it comes to abortions, and the Americans who have abortions must mind their own business when it comes to assault rifles. It's strange that these "Christian Men" are so determined to dictate morality to women, but not to other men. Very strange indeed.
I vote for a military coup to restore the Constitution and relieve the suffering of the oppressed American People. Disband both parties, disband CNN & Fox, fire all Supreme Court justices for failing to uphold the Constitution, force term limits upon the derelicts in Congress, and then shut down the Stock Exchange with the National Guard until all Veterans and all Americans have homes in this country.
