My grandma just passed away at 94 last month and seeing this joyful and vivacious woman makes me so happy. My last visit with my grandma, I spent days sitting with her and she would watch me knit and tell me about the sweaters she had made in the 40s. She was also an incredibly lively woman who loved to sing and dance and had climbed many trees in her youth. After she passed I found one of her sweaters she had made for my grandpa in the early days of their marriage. Dark green with lovely cables... it’s so special to have something to touch that she poured a bit of herself into.
That sweater is definitely one of the wartime designs knit especially for the soldiers on the frontlines! A very valuable piece of clothing and history ❤️
This just popped up on my youtube and I watched it because I’m a knitter (also love to knit socks) and aging fast lol. I’ll be 73 this coming August,. Hope my mind stays as sharp as Dotties and I have wonderful friends who will love to come to my house. She was an inspirational lady with a lovely spirit. Thank you for sharing her story with us.
Old is when the broad mind and narrow waist exchange places. But real old is when you sit in your rocking chair and can no longer make it go. I'm 86 and when I get up in the morning I sit up and wonder if it's tomorrow already, then when I make it to kitchen I get to thinking that this place looks familiar. It's a ball, getting old is more fun than being at the circus with a kaleidoscope.
God has blessed this grandma with A full life, a purpose and many many many storeys to share! God bless her heart. My grandmother passed July 4th 2019 and I miss her ever so much. When I saw this video I got a bit teary eyed, she raised me for most of my early childhood days, my mom told me the my Grandma use to knitted me sweaters, booties, hats, mittens, etc. . I miss her very very much. When I saw mrs. Dottie this reminded me of my grandmother and tears rolled down my eyes.
Way to go Dottie, you are my hero. Ive. Been knitting for 60 years, and now I have you as an example to keep on, keeping on. Yea Dottie, keep those needles, smokin

She is wonderful. Not only does she knit, she knows how to laugh and enjoy company, the perfect hostess. I'd love to be like her now and I'm almost forty years younger.

Dorothea Brown, 105 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on July 3, 2020.
My Great Aunt was 96 she could not knit . She crocheted. I so miss her.
Ms. Dottie passed away 7/2020 .Yah called her home. So glad that I got to see this video she looked to be an amazing woman.
