I love how in this episode Serena shows she can run the school at will and basically she just lets Blair be queen lol.

yeah i remember in during episode 1 of the first season, s came back to school and she told b "i saw u with kati and iz and i don't want to take any of that away from you" probably talking abt the position of queen bee, and blair was like "because it's just yours to take if you want"... proving that serena was the true queen bee of the upper east side before she went to boarding school

I get what you mean, but I doubt any prestigious school like Constance in real life would ever allow it. And I doubt even more that Lily would donate money to the school, so Serena can have her tie undone :P
+Gabrielle Capes well Lily is super conservative. All i can say is that it's telivision media and that everything there is over dramatized and exaggerated.
Actually at Spence, one of the schools their uniforms are modeled after, do pretty much dress like this.

Jen Law they weren't lol, perhaps few of them were when the first season was shot, but here they are all at least 20
Robert G actually in season 1 Serena and Dan were 21, Nate and Blair 22 and Chuck was 20 so it was a legit age to play like 16year olds there are actors that play teenagers in their 30s

LOVE this scene. Literally this is the first time Dan sees the real S - like she was basically putting on this show from S1 (which Blair and Chuck totally kept calling out) about how she's this sweet, innocent girl trying to change and Dan literally looks at her like she's a complete stranger in this. Shows how much she was holding herself back to impress him and once he stopped worshipping her she finally stopped acting like a cute, dumb blonde to make him feel better about himself lol I literally love every time in the show Serena randomly decides to snap her fingers and run shit bc she's tired of trying so hard to let other people feel special what an actual queen - nobody's in charge unless she lets them be

I think Serena came back really wanting to change but she also had to face backlash from things she had done before she left. Serena confused people still being angry and needing time to trust and believe her with thinking that people not believing she could change. So I’m Serena’s mind she was giving what was expected.

My favourite scene in the entire series. The filming, the music, the context - immaculate. Love how powerful Serena here is. Shows that she had always been the real Queen and only let Blair have that status out of kindness. Could’ve taken it away any time just with a snap of a finger. She just chose not to. What a badass

Dan was so annoying that I didn't even appreciate how good looking he was. His Bone structure is amazing.
And talented! He was on a show called The Mountain- before GG. He is a really talented actor.
He is goodlooking, but he also has to stand next to Nate and Chuck Bass, not to mention all the other model tier guys on the show.
