@@Hu99o the only reason she can afford to act that way is because she has a fat trust fund and unlimited wealth. She's also so beautiful that she can get anything she wants without trying. Lilly also happens to be on the board of every committee so she never has to work hard to get into anywhere. So Serena's whole "I don't care" personality would be more endearing if she was actually giving something up for the sake of not caring. But she still gets everything she wants because Lilly worked hard for it. Don't get me wrong, Lilly is crazy sometimes and should've let Dan come. But overall I see Serena always trying to seem like a normal girl only when it suits her, so it's kind of annoying.
@@qqisjdk but she does care. We saw how jealous Serena got of Lola and Blair when they got popular. Serena does care about being in the spotlight and having access to everything. She's just so secure that she can afford to act like she doesn't care, unlike Blair who knows she would lose everything if acting out even once or twice. This doesn't mean I hate Serena, but I can see this is a common problem with wealthy characters on a show. They hate the obligations of being rich but have no problem with the lifestyle and money, which is the epitome of being spoiled. People who actually hate rich society make it very obvious from their actions, not their words.
@@rustjones385 I don’t think you understood, yeah she secretly likes being the it girl but what I’m saying is she doesn’t care how people perceive her other than that. For example she doesn’t care if paparazzi takes scandalous photos of her, she doesn’t care about cotillion and she doesn’t care about being Queen.
