I found Harry Styles in 2020 through an episode of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden (the video is posted 5/19/2017) and have been enjoying his voice and albums ever since. My favorite HS songs are Golden, Falling, Fine Line, She, Woman, Sweet Creature, Medicine, Anna, and Sign of the Times(live Graham Norton video is the best, re: SOTT, imo)...I could go on. I prefer to listen to HS live. Harry's concert in St Paul (7/1/18 concert) ...and much of the Love on Tour footage from 2021. Harry's live performance of Falling (The Brit Awards) is one of the best. Raw emotion pushes that performance as HS deals with the death of a friend and having been robbed at gunpoint just days before. Simple & hauntingly beautiful. If you continue to listen to HS I hope you post reaction videos.

I first listened to this song on my speakerphone and it didn’t hook me. Then I listened to it again with my earphones, and I was hooked right away. It’s very addictive and gives me a kind of nostalgic feels in contrast to the beat. And you’r right that part “You know it’s not the same” really got me. I can’t help myself singing along sometimes and it makes me feel sth every listen.
you definitely have to listen to harry’s other song. i highly recommend you to listen to: 1. Sign Of The Times (1st album) 2. Meet Me In The Hallway (1st album) 3. Fine Line (2nd album) 4. Golden (2nd album) 5. Cherry (2nd album)
You are right! The chorus sticks in the head and really one can't help sing it over and over again! What a good song. So different from the usual pop songs u hear over the radio where after a month or so one tends to forget coz it's just another forgettable song! As it was hits different coz it has that melody or tune that like the old songs there is memory recall if u know what i mean. Old song in the 60s, 70s, 80s and even the 90s we can always recall the lyrics and the melodies but the new ones they're only good for a certain time but after some time u can't sing them anymore coz u have forgotten the tune and the lyrics. So happy we found one old soul in this young man's body who appreciates real music. 😁
he and stevie nicks are really good friends - if you want, their performances of landslide and stop dragging my heart around are phenomenal!

I am definitely not your demographic target audience being from the Beatles, Beach Boys and Smokey Robinson era. LOL..I appreciate your authenticity and truth-telling reactions to performances. Harry's catalogue cannot be described as just one genre, it's country ballads, pop ballads, psychodelic rock, a slight touch of punk even (Kiwi live is insane!). It's a new sound from him, I also thought of The Cure or maybe The Strokes when I heard it for the first time )) You wouldn't find any modern songs' gimmicks in any of Harry's songs I'd say. I believe this is the only song that's even got a drum machine to it but I might be mistaking)) He's got some songs which have more production than the others, songs like Lights Up, Watermelon Sugar, Adore You, but even then alterations of the sound have creative purpose, it's not done to improve his vocals or anything like that. His songs are written to play with a live band and I think he sounds even better live than in the record. I could say the same about Niall Horan, who's also One Direction alum. He and Harry are just good musicians, you know :) The band itself also performed with live band, they didn't have any autotune in their live performances (and they performed so much!). They used to write their next album stuff while touring the current one and it was going on for 5 years, no breaks. Given the circumstances, the production of their music was at times a bit bland, especially the singles, but not the 4th and 5th albums. Eventually the band decided to take a break and all 5 guys launched their solo careers right away. They're all pretty successfull, which is rare for a boyband. I would recommend to check out some more of Harry Styles songs - Golden, Adore You, Sign Of the Times. Also Niall Horan's - Nice To Meet Ya, Still, Flicker. And if you feel like getting surprised with the One Direction sound, I'd recommend to check out songs like Fireproof, Olivia, Stockholm Syndrome (2 latter are Harry's btw).

Yes, I dislike most pop because of the overproduction and the focus on the singer too much too much of the time. I’ve also told a few people that Harry’s House and now Faith in the Future are giving me hope for the future of music. I didn’t know I needed hope. I just knew I hadn’t heard a lot of music I liked.

It's an ok song to me, sounds too unoriginal 80s derivative and like Coldplay too. It kind of goes nowhere but has a groove I guess. I think HS can do a lot more interesting music.
