With the Leia situation it’s understandable that she’s upset at the company from keeping her from her family. But that’s not Fatou’s fault. Also why did she think Fatou wasn’t gonna see her talking sh!t about Fatou’s family online? Like bro. Not even getting into the fact that Leia basically wasn’t communicating or pulling her wait with the group. It says so much that she went after Fatou and basically started a harassment campaign against her when Leia gets called on her bs. Also where TF was DR Music in the whole thing?! This just goes to show that they are just a terrible company.
Yeah. understandable that she was a little sad. Life as an idol is hard, being separated from your family and working like a horse. but that doesn't mean you return someone's kindness with malicious comments. to put it simply, leia's a bitch. her mother clearly cares for her and didn't get the full story. if you look at it from her mother's side, her daughter is on the other side of the world and is unable to visit her. she probably can't even contact leia a lot. and the one time they talk, she gets told her daughter is getting bullied and the company isn't doing anything. i would be furious too. i would probably want to start a hate train too. but what her mother got was blatant misinformation, so the whole situation just went downhill and hurt so many innocent people.
You got to watch the documentary to see from DR's perspective. Leia was really problematic. They even invested in her mental health by letting her go to the doctor and skipping practices, etc. Don't judge yet until you watch it.
I think the company is 100% in the wrong for not mediating and preventing things from getting to the point they did but her not being able to see her family wasn't their fault, they were literally just coming out of a pandemic and fatou only got see her family since they were performing there. plane tickets aren't cheap either and eventually, the company flew her out to see them. but knowing the full context I doubt those were L's true motivations because she's still living abroad now even though she doesn't have to and she was constantly causing issues outside of that. I honestly think the outpouring of support Fatou received in Belgium bothered her and eventually she would have caused more issues if she had stayed. they have a much better dynamic now so ultimately it was for the best.

i truly think the katseye drama (it's barely even drama since it holds absolutely no weight today) is just... what was always going to happen given the situation every girl was put in. most of them didn't even know it was a survival show they had signed up for and then the sudden switch of that environment to one of competitiveness was always going to raise tensions between them and i truly believe the ones at fault are the adults with the power that deliberately made them compete against each other. sure, the girls could've handled it way better but they are so young and stressed, they have nowhere else to put out their anger and manon was the easiest target especially bc she was at fault for skipping rehearsals just because she didn't feel like it (not counting when she was sick, obviously)
FR like her fans will keep denying it, but they forgot that few of the international audience might see this and condemn Larissa for jumping at an opportunity that would’ve solidified her part as a foreign female idol.
For judging the Manon situation you guys need to see the whole documentary cause just watching the clips is misleading. She was missing practices and didn't take the training seriously, the girls had to practice two choreographies just in case she didn't show up. In such group performances their needs to be a trust. The girls were working super hard and Manon clearly wasn't so they were frustrated. I know that they shouldn't have talked behind her back but can we blame them they were just teenagers under so much pressure.
FINALLY someone with common sense. Yes the girls were wrong with how they handled their emotions, but Manon was wrong for not putting in that much effort.
also the mentors were getting mad at manon aswell for showing up lol. her not having formal training isn't a excuse since there were girls there younger than her and who barely spoke the language who showed up and put in the effort.
Manon came from a culture that’s super laid back and takes mental health and breaks seriously. She was ASKED to come in and did not expect this amount of work, like the other girls she did not know it was a survival show and probably wasn’t completely sure it was something she wanted to do. You see later on she decides she does want it and she changes her mindset. It’s not so black and white and yes the girls that worked so hard from the beginning are allowed to feel frustrated but the way they were towards her was not okay either. People come from different walks of life and her situation was different from the girls who auditioned and knew what they were getting into.
Also, it's not like they went behind her back. They were discussing and letting their feelings out to one another or with the psychiatrist. It's not wrong to voice out wrong doings of someone. If they were making fun of her...had malicious intent then it would've been justified calling them bullies or mean girls.
Her contract was already over the same day Black Swan came back with Roll Up, so she’s already been out of the group since November 2022(although DR won’t confirm it).
She is already out. Just DR haven't posted the official letter of her departure from the group. (I would rather say a "Letter confirming her being kicked out" but ... let's keep it healthy here.) I love the current lineup. They are so Adorable and chaotic together 😂. You guys should surely check out their LIVE video moments.😂 it's so chaotic.
In Manon's case, companies should also be looking at the girls characteristics too. like they did to VCHA, so the girls have that real sisterhood instead of "sisterhood" on the media

Your first statement is that you didn't watch the whole documentary. If you did watch the documentary Manon missed practices and had to move out of the house where the other girls lived because she broke the rules and curfew. Even Missy who was in charge of the girls stated Manon was not dedicated and consistently broke the rules. Manon was only interested in mending fences with the other girls when she realized she scored high in the fan voting. Before fan voting, it was only based on the judges and instructors voting she consistently ranked last out of 20 girls mainly because of her lack of skills and was not attending classes to improve them. The girls that called her out were Sophia and Lara and they were not jealous of her because they ranked higher than her during judges voting and fan voting.
If I’m honest, Manon was the visual the group needed and she can have her Seeya Gyuri anytime of the day if she so decides, i did watch the documentary and no she was not bullied and some of these comments are so confident yet so wrong like… the footage of her with the notepad is AFTER the other girlies told her to stop playing. But ultimately who cares because the GP is starting to like Sophia more anyways (i think the reason of the change is unrelated to the documentary).
I think some context is definitely needed. As someone who watched the whole show (survival and docu) Manon was definitely lacking the commitment the program needed. Even before she got sick, there is a scene where she’s talking to her sister about the program and how she’s feeling and then straight up says “I’m not going to go to practice today”. And based off of what the girls and instructors have said, that was not going to be the last time she would do that. I think it’s fair that the girls would feel somehow about someone who does not (in their eyes) put in the same work/dedication as them ranking so high. Obviously projecting their feelings onto Manon about that was unfair but we also have to take into account that Manon came in later in the program while other girls had been there at the very beginning. Keep in mind these are young girls in an already competitive environment then throw in that survival show aspect with strangers ranking them and being judged by the internet, there will be a LOT of feelings that arise. Manon definitely changed later on and her improvement and changed dedication was great to see but it’s not like the girls were wrong for feeling how they felt.
Obviously the dirty looks and secret animosity wasn’t okay as clearly Manon was just unaware of how much work would be put into this whole process and she just needed time to figure it out. Especially when you take where she comes from into consideration. + I really hope I worded this in a way that was considerate of all the girls and I especially don’t want Manon solo stans to get me 😭
Manon never wanted to do that, they contact her ans want her to be in thé group , she was not a K-pop Stan and didnt know about the system, obviously if she felt that she didnt want cuz she still was thinking about really be and Idol or not
@@NicolasaNicolasa Samara, Lara, Daniela and others were in similar situations not being familiar to kpop system of training or kpop in general, Lara was even in the same situation as Manon when it comes to the program contacting her to be a part of the trainee program, but they all were able to adapt and understand the situation needed their efforts, except Manon.
Adela wasn't being deluded just being misquoted, misunderstood and her words misconstrued! When she talked about not being represented, she wasn't talking about white girls(or even blonde girls). She was talking about her home nation Slovakia! Slovakia (case ya didn't know) is a small nation in central europe. Its mostly been in the news lately because its Trump and Putin supporting Prime Minister Robert Fico recently survived an assassination attempt (he's a really scary guy who's suspected in the murders of a journalist and his girlfriend. Especially scary as he continues to threaten journalists)! I'm fairly certain that its Kpop fandom is proportionately small. Thus Adela knew when it turned into an online popularity contest, she was at an extreme disadvantage. Especially as the Dream Academy show had a bare minimum of footage that really didn't give the audience a chance to know them. Adela's outlook really makes sense when you look at one of the few non-Mission Dream Academy vlogs. This showed the group at a luncheon where Brooklyn and Meagan talk about how the voting might go. They point out that with 6 Americans in the candidate pool, the American Kpop voters would be very split. Meagan confessed she didn't feel confident about Chinese people supporting her cuz she doesn't speak Chinese (some people criticized her for not doing so during her intro ceremony)! This is what Adela meant when the Americans are learning what Slovaks feel. Unsupported.
manon seems like such a sweet and thoughtful person. it’s so awful watching her get bullied like that, it’s not her fault she was evaluated higher even IF it’s not “what she deserved”
HONESTLY and I see a ton of ppl saying "But if you were in that situation you would be frustrated with manon too" Fustrated, yes...but I wouldn't go out of my way to exclude her, give her dirty looks and bully her. It breaks my heart that if it wasnt for her having to actually sit down and talk, it could've escalated and Katseye wouldn't be the same (Before someone tells me they've already made up, that's great! I just think it was highly unfair for manon to be isolated like that)
This wasn’t bullying, please be mindful of what you write.Being frustrated about someone being more privileged than others while showing little to no commitment is completely normal
FR and her fans want to say she’s the “”reason” why they have Brazilian fans” when in reality that’s far from the truth(some Brazilian Luminas actually joined the fandom because they were interested in the current girls and saw themselves in Fatou, since there’s a lot of Black Brazilians, but they had no clue about Léia and that has upset Leisardlights because they expected Gabi to be her friend and felt “betrayed” when that wasn’t the case and they feel even more upset that some other Brazilian stans don’t care for her and would rather support Swannies and that’s why things will get interesting if some non-K-pop fans will become aware of the Black Swan vs former member Léia “feud” anytime) 😊
They were not "bullying" her they were just annoyed that she wasn't putting equal efforts as the other trainees. Seeing your friends with whom you stayed 24/7 for more than a year getting eliminated and people continuously judging your actions annoyed them and they felt wronged that someone had it easy. They were literal teenagers and so they made mistakes like talking behind her back but that's it.

i think you should truly refrain from making comments about dream academy when you haven't watched it for yourself. Basing opinions off manons stans cherry picked clips is dumb asf. She was not sick all time, she was shown sitting at her aunts million dollar mansion casually deciding to skip practice to sit by the pool lol. The mentors were also mad at her for skipping so much, it wasn't just the girls. Her having no formal training isn't an excuse since she was there way longer than some of the other girls like ua, & hinari, who didn't have training, didn't speak english nor have guardians there. It's also important to note manon was breaking rules without getting penalised and got kicked out of the dorms, none of the other girls got that treatment.
Leia acts like a child. Sure she wants to see her mom but she should’ve known that with her dream that’s smtg she’ll have to sacrifice. There was a member that hadn’t seen his family in 4 years yet he didn’t start this drama. I’m sure the rest of his members got to see their family often. She didn’t have mental health issues either she just needs to be taught how to handle those emotions. I think they should’ve analysed ppl’s character before hand
It's honestly frustrating how some people choose to cyberbully survival show contestants they don’t like, but when the other girls express their frustrations about Manon not showing up to practice or giving her all, suddenly everyone’s quick to defend her and criticize the others. There’s a lack of accountability here. If people think Lara and Sophia are being mean or that the group is unfair to Manon, maybe they should consider apologizing to Wonhee, who’s been dealing with online harassment since the beginning of R U Next. And about Adele, she didn’t mean just any non-Korean girl representing her, she specifically referred to someone from Slovakia, where K-pop and other media aren’t as popular. That context got lost in the conversation. It’s frustrating how hypocritical some K-pop fans can be. Critical thinking is key here. The fact that even the instructors and mentors were concerned about Manon’s commitment to the point, where they even considered kicking her out should say something. This isn’t about race,Samara and Nayoung also had less training than Manon but still showed more dedication and didn‘t skip rehearsals eventho both of them have a better skillset than manon. Sophia took the role as the spokesperson here and told manon, what everyone or most of the contestants were feeling. What people wanted was more commitment from Manon. The group’s frustration was understandable, and they eventually worked it out. It wasn’t that big of a deal in the end, just a communication issue.
Lemme just say that all of you taking sides with manon clearly don't understand the situation very well... I totally understand where the girls are coming from, imagine you being really passionate about something and then you have a person who doesn't put as much effort as everyone else, which in a survival show like this also hinders the other girl's progress, and then this same girl getting a lot of attention. It is frustrating and unjust, especially since it seemed like manon wasn't getting any sort of punishment for breaking those rules. Anyways, sure some of the girl's behaviour was questionable (for ex lara laughing at manon), but you cannot deny that they are onto something and have the right to be upset. NOW, what upsets me even more is the fans (especially manon solo stans) just taking her defense as if she had done nothing wrong and stirring the pot once again even tho everything is fine now, like why bring it up if they're now besties?? I rlly want to commend manon for having the strenght and courage of confronting the girls ALONE, like that was so mature of her, and the girls of expressing how they felt. It pisses me off to see that all of their reconciliation is being shaken up by some stupid fans like some ppl in this comment section. STAN KATSEYE AS A WHOLE!!! PS: When adela was saying the girls like her werent represented, she meant her slavic background not her being white obviously...
Also to clarify again as someone who watched the doc, Adela was not on some “white need to get represented” bs. She was talking about how people from her country of Slovakia don’t have much representation as it is a relatively smaller country. For context, the whole appeal of dream academy was the girls different ethnicities and backgrounds so I think disregarding what she said to be some white people representation thing is so misleading lmao
Outcast Someone, act shady , laugh at Someone and give dirty looks without explanations YES IS bully, They didnt even told her They were mad ....they just started to bully , stop acting dvmb
Idc how valid some of their points were, SOME, it's still rude to talk about her behind her back instead of coming to her and telling her how they feel. Those clips are from a year, 2 or 3 ago... but I'm one to keep grudges, so I'm just giving my take on the situation. Plus, I really didn't like how Sophia addressed the situation with a "try to do better next time", I would've... Nvm. Anyways, stan Katseye.
Girl Sophia did say she had a whole discussion with Manon but she still was not showing any efforts. They weren't back biting...they were voicing facts.
All I’m going to say is that I am glad for the final members of the group but Manon was slacking when it came to the practices. Lara and many other contestants came after Manon but they still gave their all when it came to attending practices. It is understandable as to why the other contestants were judging and being distant because Manon never was into it until the elimination round before going to Korea.
manon was literally doing her absolute best and seeing how the other trainees treated her is so gross, manon deserved way better wtf so glad she debuted
she was not doing her absolute best, everyone including their mentors were mad at her for skipping so much. she broke rules without getting penalised and got kicked out the dorm. The girls were rightfully upset with her
I hate to say this but Manon selection into the group is so forced, she already knew she was getting favoured in the program and that's why she started taking it unseriously BUT still I have hopes for her and she can prove me wrong 🙏❤
Doing her best lol others girls literally giving sweat and blood during training period and getting eliminated and other is chilling without bothered about anything is on top and getting privilege lol that's a right word doing her best😅😁
the girls and even mentors like Missy had been treating Manon poorly from the start, no wonder she wasn’t working as hard in the beginning until she actually felt supported and welcomed (by fans)
Can you not spread misinformation about Blackswan please. Blackswan is not a rebrand of Rania and Hyeme didn't leave because of the scamming scandal that was fake btw, she left because her contract with the company ended.
@@yubincults It's been proven that Dr decided to call the first album "goodbye Rania" because they wanted rania fans to be lumina's. I hate when ya'll spread misinformation about blackswan
Honestly, I loved Samara and Manon. Manon should have been held responsible in the beginning by the manager and choreographers. Manon missing practice did look like she did not want to be there, but Sohpia, Laura, and everyone who had a problem with Manon missing practice could have confronted her as well from the start instead of having a negative view of Manon. I saw the look on Laura's face! Communication is key! Hybe and production knew what they were doing! Manon needs to be in the center is what one of the producers said. So it is not the girl's fault when favoritism comes into play by fans and producers. Trust me I was wondering why Emily nor Samara got picked!
0:22 if you haven’t even watched/experienced Pop Star Academy and know the actual context how are you able to give an opinion on it or talk about it without bias? Oh yeah you can’t. Bad journalism/reporting 101. Always know your source or you literally just discredit the entire argument.
A humble suggestion : You should watch the Katseye's docu first before making this. Since this giving a lot of misunderstanding about the group relationships.
Manon put herself in that situation…. It just irks me that she decided to take it seriously when she got ranked high like if she wasn’t like nearly half way thru the process….. also Adela was a great contest and her talent speaks for itself
Honest I obviously know that the katseye girls are good now but Jesus Christ… You don’t glare someone down, exclude them, and talk shit about them on live TV. And then when they’re apologizing you don’t apologize when it wasn’t her fault for getting attention…
1. they don't glare her down, if they did, they were right to do it, she made her team lives difficult. They supposed to work as a team and she didn't show up 2. They didn't exclude her, she excluded herself by missing classes and broke house rules so she live outside the dorm 3. She's the one that needed to apologize, she did and they accepted. They largely not mad at her because of the attention she got, they were mad at her for skipping rehearsal and not put in as much work as the others, and was clearly not deserving the love she got from people (whom let's be honest mostly attracted to her for her looks, not her skill set, which was low)
Did u really watch the documentary series or this opinion is based on clips without any context? because WHEN have the girls talk shit about Manon??they literally just complained about the situation of someone always missing practices and harming the group dynamics which is a valid complaint and a valid concern for the team. They didn’t go out talking bad about her, they just shared their frustrations with each other and the psychologist. even Missy and Nikki were concerned about Manon’s lack of commitment to the team. It was a real issue that brought tension to the teamwork.
@@Sayu_rinrin yeah so I wrote that comment after founding out my friend had been talking massive shit so I lowkey took it to heart but besides that I do agree that Manon was not commiting, but at some point the glares and the other girls were giving me mean girl vibes and I could tell she felt left out. She began to get enthusiasm when she was getting positivity from the public and there was some envy and it was influencing their attitude towards her. I think she deserves credit for fixing her problems, but also staying mature during their quarrel.

I think in a girl group understand eachother and respect their situation like manon, ask her what's problem don't disrespect her because her feelings and emotions got hurt lost confidence so respect is most important
Manon fans will literally ignore everything she has done wrong just to defend her. Like open your eyes people. Manon has star power, yes. Looks? Yes. TALENT AND WORK ETHIC? BIG FAT NO
I really love this line up , and like manon too but this is the fact rest of the girl are more desperate than manon they working hard but someone who just get everything and get special treatment bcz she is pretty is obviously ridiculous to those people who are giving all of what they have ; its not a kpop grp still its connected to kpop so you need to accept visual may be their first priority and they didn't make artists according to their talent they literally make artist or make a fake artist who would be more profitable to their bussiness
2:25 Looking like her get represented. I don't get it. Is she talking about representation of her nationality or the skin tone. If it's skin tone, I see them over represented. Could you please explain what she meant?
She is talking about her nationality, but the clip is out of context. The context is that a lot of fans voted based on nationality, and the American contestants felt they were at a disadventage in comparison to the other girls that had their "whole" country supporting them (Examples was Sophia (phillipines) or Samara (brazil). Adela was just talking about what the American contestants were seeing here is what people from small countries are used to. (skin tone and race wasn't even relevant)
To be sincere if you watch all kateyes performances and mv clearly manon lack of stage presence, she clearly pretty but shes the one the most lacking of stage presence
I watched the documentary of KATSEYE, but I dislike Manon so much. Not only does she make me hate this name (yeah, blame my mum), but also she is the most overrated member in the group. People only looked at her for her visuals and she didn't take training seriously, only until way later when she had broken several rules and refused to show up. I'm sorry Manon, but why did you even sign the contract when you never have been into K-Pop the way everyone else in the program was? I dislike her a lot. As for Leia, I liked her but not in a way I biased her. And especially after these ''bullying allegations'' which she basically started, I lost severe respect for her. You're in another country with someone else' parents and yet you decide to be the disrespectful lowlife? Imagine if someone would do that to your parents Leia, you would've reacted the same as Fatou did. Fatou had every right to react like that and the fact that Leia even blamed Sriya and Gabi for the departure of the Korean members, made me despise Leia even more. Girlie should be blacklisted from any entertainment industry in any country.

Lara was messy during the show, but she was 17, in high school, so I let it go.
Lara Sophia Daniela megan spots was cleanly fixed based on pure talent they has shown it was never a doubt once u watch da aswell documentary on Netflix and Manon spot was definitely fixed too for her face and it factor and coming to yoonchae it's always been from the starts it's either yoonchae or nayoung definitely no other can take that spot since that one is definitely fixed and yoonchae is very much talented trained and Korean representation
I'm surprised on your opinion on Daniela, she never received support from Latam since she was born in the States. She ranked 17th for mission one as well. The reason she gained so much fans was because of her great performances

i truly think the katseye drama (it's barely even drama since it holds absolutely no weight today) is just... what was always going to happen given the situation every girl was put in. most of them didn't even know it was a survival show they had signed up for and then the sudden switch of that environment to one of competitiveness was always going to raise tensions between them and i truly believe the ones at fault are the adults with the power that deliberately made them compete against each other. sure, the girls could've handled it way better but they are so young and stressed, they have nowhere else to put out their anger and manon was the easiest target especially bc she was at fault for skipping rehearsals just because she didn't feel like it (not counting when she was sick, obviously)
leia was real trouble!

If they were making fun of her...had malicious intent then it would've been justified calling them bullies or mean girls.
well said! they're both in the wrong. They should do a mature way to handle it
I guess kpop is in it's documentary era because every group is making a documentary now
I’m sorry but they should just kick her out.. (talking about leia

She is already out. Just DR haven't posted the official letter of her departure from the group. (I would rather say a "Letter confirming her being kicked out" but ... let's keep it healthy here.) Well I have seen unscripted Katseye when they went live before time and didn't know that it had started. They were all having fun matching each other's freak so keep your opinions to yourself

It breaks my heart that if it wasnt for her having to actually sit down and talk, it could've escalated and Katseye wouldn't be the same (Before someone tells me they've already made up, that's great! i think you should truly refrain from making comments about dream academy when you haven't watched it for yourself.
I’m glad someone here said this
Preach! 🙏🙏

@@guinnmyahslaysstaymad Preach 🙌 you said everything I wanted to say!
For context, the whole appeal of dream academy was the girls different ethnicities and backgrounds so I think disregarding what she said to be some white people representation thing is so misleading lmao
i didn't know that being vocal towards other people's bad habits/attitude is considered bullying.

They supposed to work as a team and she didn't show up
2. They didn't exclude her, she excluded herself by missing classes and broke house rules so she live outside the dorm

I'm surprised on your opinion on Daniela, she never received support from Latam since she was born in the States. She ranked 17th for mission one as well. The reason she gained so much fans was because of her great performances
what was that last video?

No wonder, I never was able to get into "KATSEYE" .I always felt the fakeness in the chemistry and personas of almost every candidates, so I avoided watching the show just so to avoid being the Hater. Turns out , It's been a red flag since the very beginning.
i don’t like manon but sophia’s got a loud mouth for who she is..
